Don’t call it a comeback. The Beats Pill is making its return with improved sound features, a cheaper price tag and Lil Wayne and LeBron James helping usher in the new era.

Announced on Tuesday (June 25), the new Beats Pill is 10 percent lighter than its predecessor, with a 20-degree tilt for “better on-axis sound projection.” It retails for $149.99 – around $50 cheaper than the original — and will be available in matte black, statement red and champagne gold.

“The Beats Pill has been a staple in the James household from day one,” James said in a statement. “It’s an iconic product, so it’s exciting to be part of its relaunch for a new generation.”

Tunechi and LeBron star in the new Beats Pill campaign dubbed “The Predicament.” In the clip, James is throwing a hotel party while Tunechi’s classic “A Milli” blasts in the background, preventing Lil Wayne from sleeping in a nearby room. After Wayne gets up to see where the noise is coming from, he ends up joining in on the party.

The Beats Pill offers up to 24 hours of battery life and a Fast Fuel charging option that gives you two hours of music playback after a 10-minute charge. The Bluetooth speaker has USB connectivity for continuous play (it’s iOS and Android compatible) and one-touch pairing.

“The Beats Pill is back and better than ever — now packed with outstanding sound, all-day battery life, and convenient features,” said Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Apple Music and Beats. “From the beloved Pill characters to cameos in the world’s most watched music videos, the original Beats Pill was a pop culture phenom and we’re thrilled to bring back a fan favorite updated with the latest features in an iconic design.”

If you have the original Beats Pill, back from 2012 or 2013, then you probably remember the choppy sound quality and terrible bass. According to Beats, the new Pill promises to deliver “better sound than ever before.”

Beyond the acoustic upgrades, including a redesigned tweeter for “crisper highs and rich mid-range tones” and a reengineered racetrack woofer, Beats Pill features a removable carry lanyard, a soft-grip silicone backing and an IP67 dust and waterproof rating.

The Beats Pills is available for pre-order at Amazon, Beats, Apple.com and BeatsbyDre.com. The speaker will be released on June 27.

BLACKPINK’s Jennie showcases her rap skills in the new campaign for Beats Solo Buds in-ear headphones released on Thursday (June 20).

“Music and self-expression are so important to me, so my collaboration with Beats was the perfect fit,” Jennie said in a statement. “I love my Beats Solo Buds. They’re so cute and portable and allow me to immerse myself in music everywhere I go.”

Features include up to 18 hours of battery life, but a five-minute quick charge will give you an hour of juice. Beats Solo Buds are equipped with dual-layer drivers that are designed to minimize distortion and maximize hi-fi sound while “expertly positioned” drivers that deliver sound directly to your ears, and laser-cut vents for improved audio performance and to relieve ear pressure for a comfortable fit.

The Beats collaboration adds to a list of collabs for Jennie, who has worked with major brands such as Adidas and Calvin Klein. Last year, the 28-year-old star announced the launch of her own record label, OA, and the start of her journey as a solo artist. “As I start my solo journey in 2024 with a company that I have established called OA,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “Please show lots of love for my new start with OA and of course BLACKPINK. Thank you.”

Apple unveiled the new Beats Solo Buds and Beats Solo4 headphones back in April. The Solo Buds are available at Apple.com, Beatsbydre.com and major retailers such as Best Buy and Amazon.

Besides highlighting the “portability, comfort and premium audio quality” of the Beats Solo Buds, the commercial puts Jennie’s rhyming abilities on display. ”Taken for granted/ Taken for hostage / Carried the baggage/ Carried the past us,” she raps. “As luck would have it/ Future was written/ They didn’t plan for women to woman up.”

You may have forgotten about the Beats Pill, but Apple has not, and it’s getting a much-needed refresh.
Spotted on The Verge via 9To5Mac’s details from unnamed sources, the Beats Pill is being modernized and will feature a bevy of upgrades. The peripheral has been on ice since 2022’s discontinued model, the Pill+.
Per The Verge:
Reported upgrades include up to 24 hours of battery life, IP67 water resistance, faster and more reliable device pairing / switching with Bluetooth 5.3, and integrated Find My tracking on both Apple and Google’s networks. 9to5Mac also says Apple plans to update the Pill’s charge-out and input ports to USB-C, from USB-A out and Lightning in.
According to reports, the new Beats Pill will also have a detachable strap that folks like LeBron James have already shown off, confirming its existence.

Sound quality will also improve, offering users a richer experience, a product of the new Beats Pills redesigned and repositioned drivers and tweeters.
According to 9To5Mac, all that’s left is pricing and the launch date, and we could use the latest device from the company that Dr. Dre built sometime this Summer, which would be the perfect window for a release.
The Pill+ had a $230 price tag, so we can expect the new Beats Pill to be in the same ballpark. It will also come in three color options: black, gold, and red.
We will keep you updated when Beats formerly announces the new Beats Pill; until then, you can see more photos in the gallery below.

It’s a new year, meaning new Apple/Beats products. To help roll them out, the company enlisted the help of top female athletes Angel Reese, Naomi Osaka, and Sha’Carri Richardson.
The Apple-owned company unveiled the latest model in its long line of over-ear wireless headphones, the Solo 4. At launch, the Solo 4 headphones will cost $199 and promise up to 50 hours of battery life.
The Solo 4’s exceptional battery life can be attributed to the lack of active noise cancellation, a must-have feature now more than ever. It’s a bummer the Solo 4 headphones do have it, but Beats promises the other features make up for the lack of noise cancellation.
Those features include wired audio and passive tuning, allowing the Solo 4s to continue to work when the battery is dead and plugged in without sacrificing sound quality.
The Solo 4 also features custom acoustic architecture and supports native software on both Android and iOS devices.
Beats Also Announces The New Solo Buds
Source: Apple / Beats / Beats Solo 4 & Solo Buds
Beats also announced a new entry-level wireless earbuds model, the Solo Buds, which cost $79.99. While they might not be a premium offering, Beats still promises the Solo Buds will offer users “big Beats sound in the smallest case we’ve ever made.”
Also, for a $79.99 price point, you’re not getting ANC (active noise cancellation) or a charging case, but Beats boasts the Solo Buds will offer 18 hours of use on a single charge; after that, you have to plug up via USB-C.
The Solo 4 headphones are now available for pre-order and launch on May 2 in Matte Black, Slate Blue, and Cloud Pink.
The Solo Buds will arrive sometime in June, along with Matte Black, Storm Gray, Arctic Purple, and Transparent Red color options.
You can see more photos of both accessories in the gallery below.
