Fuerza Regida Talk Being on the Billboard Charts, How Vicente Fernandez Inspires Them & More | Billboard Music Awards 2024

Fuerza Regida talk about what it means to be on the Billboard charts, how Vicente Fernandez inspires them, their favorite thing about performing live and more at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards.

Fuerza Regida
Charting on the Billboards means everything. Because I remember back in the day, we would see the charts, and we weren’t even on there, and now we’re on there. So we’re really happy to be there. We always working, always moving. Why should people tune in? Because we got the best group in the world, Fuerza Regida. You know what I’m saying? We hope for the fans to take all the great energy that our music is intended to give and use it toward something possible. Our favorite part of performing live is we like to receive the fans’ energy. And we’re always just, you know, giving the best of our best. It’s like therapy for us. You know, we need them. It’s like we’re going to therapy, right? There we go. We see all our fans. We feel great when we walk out. We have the best energy. We’re always prepared. We always ready to go, always on our tippy toes. Vicente Fernandez, I remember when I was little, I would look at movies with my dad, old-school movies, and I would see him act. He was a whole superstar actor, and then I would see him perform at stadiums. So it really inspired me to do the same. And thank God now we’re here doing the same.

Megan Moroney on Her Album Debuting in Billboard 200 Top 10, Being Inspired By Kacey Musgraves & Taylor Swift | Billboard Music Awards 2024

Megan Moroney talks about her album ‘Am I Okay?’ debuting in the Billboard 200 top 10, being inspired by Kacey Musgraves and Taylor Swift, loving ‘The Tortured Poets Deparment’ album so much this year and more at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards.

Megan Moroney
It was a dream come true to have my album debut in the top 10 of the Billboard 200. That is not something that I ever thought would come out of my mouth. And I just feel grateful to write music, and I’m so happy the fans love it as much as I do. You know, when I found out I was performing at the Billboard Music Awards, the first thing I thought of was, what am I gonna wear? And so I feel like that probably takes the most time. I think my favorite part of performing live is hearing my fans sing words that I wrote, whether it was like in a bedroom or a writing room or wherever, and we all just sing it together. It’s very therapeutic. Growing up, Kacey Musgraves and Taylor Swift were two huge inspirations for me, and you know, I’ve been a fan of theirs for so long. So I know what fans want from artists, because I grew up such a fan and yeah, I’m just taking notes from them. I think I probably listened to ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ the most this year. Hopefully tonight, me and my fans can just send all of our exes to the moon together, because that’s the goal.

Stray Kids Reminisce About Billboard’s Early Support & Being Grateful for Their STAYs | Billboard Music Awards 2024

Stray Kids reminisce about Billboard‘s support for them early in their career, their first album to reach No. 1 on the Billboard charts, being grateful for the support from their STAYs and more at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards.

Stray Kids:
The Billboard charts are something that felt so out of reach growing up. Thanks to receiving so much of STAYs’ love and support, we have been able to chart with our albums and achieve so many things. Accomplishing this is still so surreal to us. Thank you so, so much. It really wants us to work even harder going forward. Thank you, Billboard! I mean it’s funny because, you know back before even when we debuted, Billboard actually named us as, you know, the top five K-pop artists to watch out for in 2018. And we were No. 1, so that was, something very, very memorable. And also our very first Billboard No.1 would be ODDINARY. Yeah.

Well, we all believe that because of STAYs, STAYs are the reason why we are here on this stage, performing for the BBMAs. So it’s really important to share this moment with STAYs here on stage. And yeah, I think it’s something memorable and something we can all enjoy. We brought out the two best performances that Stray Kids had this year because of that. I hope you can feel Stray Kids’ colors a bit more deeply. Along with this large-scale set, soon there will be STAYs here as well. I hope you can also see the way we synergize with STAYs.

SEVENTEEN on How They Feel About Being on the Billboard Charts, How Much CARATs Mean to Them | Billboard Music Awards 2024

SEVENTEEN talks about how they feel about being on the Billboard charts and how much their CARATs mean to them at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards.

What does charting on the Billboard Charts mean to you and your career?

SEVENTEEN:
What do you think, Woozi? It’s such an honor for SEVENTEEN and for CARATS. It’s so meaningful and one of the reason we always put in effort for good results. It feels like we’re given the strength to continue on with a feeling of accomplishment. These results are not something we could have achieved with just SEVENTEEN alone, so it’s even more meaningful. And we believe that rather than us, it’s our CARATs who achieved these results. So I hope they feel more proud and happy. Right, the reason SEVENTEEN exists is because of CARATs.

Jelly Roll Has Been Loving Chappell Roan & Taylor Swift’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ Album | Billboard Music Awards 2024

Jelly Roll shares who he’s been listening to this year at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards.

Jelly Roll
It’s all about the fans. Always fan first in every regard, every time, all the time. We wouldn’t have a stage to stand on if there wasn’t people in front of it.

Question:
Who did you listen to most this year?

Jelly Roll
Oh goodness, probably Chappell Roan, dude, I’ve been “Hot to Go” like everybody else. I can’t lie, a lot of ‘The Tortured Poets Department.’ Taylor, I thought had a great album. Sabrina’s album was incredible. Lainey Wilson’s ‘Whirlwind,’ Cody Johnson’s ‘Leather,’ Kelsea Ballerini’s ‘Pattern’ just came out. I’m sorry, I’m excited.

Shaboozey Talks ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ on Hot 100, Listening to Sabrina Carpenter & More | Billboard Music Awards 2024

Shaboozey talks about the success of “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” on the Hot 100, who he’s been listening to and more at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards.

Shaboozey:
Charting on the Billboard charts is super important to me. It’s definitely something I feel like it has, like, a long-standing history. And being able to have a song, or, you know, have a couple songs this year, you know, finally break that. It just shows that, you know, it’s a testament to all the hard work and dedication and sacrifice we just put in. I really think it’s been a really cool year for music.

Listen to our Sabrina Carpenter. Listen to a lot of, you know every Benson Boone, Teddy Swims, Chappell Roan, Beyoncé, but yeah, just a lot of, just my friends. You know, it’s really cool to be able to listen to your friends, or like to, you know, to start with something. And we have this respect for each other. But there’s been so much good music I can’t say, you know, one artist and my taste jumps around a lot.

Having the longest charting song is crazy. Last year, I remember just checking out some of just looking at the charts and just being like, “Man, I would love to have a song, you know, even just enter in for me, having my first Hot 100 entry this year, my first two, and getting the longest No. 1.” It’s pretty cra… I don’t know if that’s ever happened before, making history has always been like a big thing for me, and just having an impact as an artist and as a human being. So it just shows that I didn’t let my childhood self down.

Teddy Swims on His Favorite Thing About Performing ‘Lose Control’ Live | Billboard Music Awards 2024

Teddy Swims talks about his favorite thing about performing “Lose Control” live and why the BBMAs are special this year at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards.

Teddy Swims:
I tried my very best that when we performed, I always make it feel like it’s our living room, you know. And in my living room, I walk around butt naked, not that I’ll physically be butt naked, but figuratively, I just try to create a safe place for myself and other people to feel that we’re, you know, in the same room together.

My favorite part about performing live is this, this beautiful thing that you get to, you know, when you’re writing the song, you kind of are just, it’s solely kind of for you in the moment. But I think what’s so beautiful is that the place that I was in at the time the song was written, when I was really down bad, it was it’s a moment that I got to kind of gain ownership of that trauma, and also people that are going through the same kind of like trauma that we get to kind of turn that into a celebration and own it and celebrate it together and come out on the other side. And always, always had that we won together.

You should tune in to watch the Billboard Music Awards, though, because I’m gonna be a part of it. So maybe, maybe, if that’s not enough, there’s a lot of huge artists. I think this year is so special because, you know, there’s so many new artists that I think are like legacy artists, and I think there’s so many new artists that are, I think, here to stay, and I think this is going to be a historic year. That’s going to be 10 years down the line, every one of those new artists you see this year are going to be still there.

Shaboozey On Friendship With Morgan Wallen, Loving Medium Build & More | Billboard Music Awards 2024

Shaboozey talks about staying on top of the Hot 100 chart for so long with “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” his friendship with Morgan Wallen, loving new artist Medium Build and more backstage at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards.

Tetris Kelly
Hey, what’s up? It’s Tetris with Billboard News, hanging out with Shaboozey ahead of his first BBMAs performance. Man, you gotta be excited. What’s the vibe? What are you bringing to the BBMAs?

Shaboozey
Man it’s fun, man, hopefully a lot of country music, you know, lot of Western you know, a lot of vibes.

Tetris Kelly
I gotta be honest, I’m really proud of you. I remember meeting you actually at a BT party, and it was when your song was like, No.2, No.2, No.2. And you were like, Man, I hope I gotta, I gotta get to No.1. Like, now it happened. So tell me when it happened for you. How was that finally getting that accomplishment?

Shaboozey
The kind of things I was doing at the time were, like, just really cool things that I just never thought I’d be doing, and meeting a lot of people I never thought I would meet, you know, being able to do that BET awards, and Jay Kwan come out, and then, you know, just the week right after that moment we went No.1. It felt like, it felt like a full circle moment, you know, felt like a, like a movie, honestly.

Tetris Kelly
I mean, that was a full circle moment, but I’m sure you didn’t even know then, like, 15 weeks was about to happen. So tell me about 15 weeks at No.1. That’s crazy, bro.

Shaboozey
It’s crazy. You know, we do music and and especially being from like, a small town like me, you watch all these greats and all these, like, huge acts and people who have kind of, you know, matched those achievements or done more, and you’re just like, Man, I would love to be in those conversations and in those rankings. And it’s just, it’s great to be here. Honestly, yeah, I feel like we do something really special and something really different, and I put in a lot of time and a lot of work into just my music and my career, so just see it all kind of take off like this has been a blessing. Honestly, it’s been just just shows you just got to stay down, stay true to yourself, and keep working. Yeah, you can get anything.

SEVENTEEN Talk BBMAs Performance, DJ Khaled Collab & More | Billboard Music Awards 2024

SEVENTEEN talk about what it means to perform “LOVE, MONEY, FAME” at the Santa Monica Pier, their DJ Khaled collab and more backstage of the 2024 Billboard Music Awards.

Tetris Kelly
Guys, I am so happy to be hanging out with you guys again. It’s been a long time, but you’re here for the Billboard Music Awards, and you guys took over the Santa Monica Pier. So how did that feel?

SEVENTEEN
About six months ago, I visited Santa Monica while traveling, and hearing that we’ll be performing in that same space is truly exciting. I feel like it’s going to be a unique experience.

Tetris Kelly
I mean I know it’s gonna feel different for you, Mingyu, but Joshua, you’re especially the king of LA. You grew up walking these streets.

SEVENTEEN
I mean, Santa Monica in general is like the place that I used to hang out the most with my friends, like on the weekend, so it means a lot that we’re gonna be able to perform there and to have a City event at Santa Monica Pier

Tetris Kelly
Man, that’s pretty cool. And then you guys also just had your sixth No. 1 album on the Top Album Sales chart. So does it feel different every time that you guys hit No. 1?

SEVENTEEN
Honestly, every time we’re just like, so thankful to our fans, because, like, they’re the ones who are making that happen.

Tetris Kelly
Yeah, and I mean, not only the new album, but the new track. I mean, with DJ Khaled, I was so excited about the collaboration. How did you guys feel releasing such a cool song?

SEVENTEEN
It was an honor to work with him, as I’ve admired his work. It felt nostalgic because the vibe of the music I enjoyed in my younger days seemed to come alive so vividly. And then when I came to the U.S. two years ago I mentioned that I wanted to collaborate with DJ Khaled during an interview, so it felt surreal that this became a reality.

Tetris Kelly
Well look at that Tiger! Makin’ dreams come true, I love that, and then, of course, you guys have accomplished so much as a group, the BBMAs. I mean, what’s next? What is something you guys still want to accomplish?

SEVENTEEN
After the BBMAs? Should we go to the GRAMMYs? Yes let’s! GRAMMYs!

Tetris Kelly
Okay!

Teddy Swims Details Vegas Celebration for His First Hot 100 No. 1 Hit | Billboard Music Awards 2024

Teddy Swims says that his smash, “Lose Control,” hitting No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 led to what he described as the Vegas Flu and more backstage of the 2024 Billboard Music Awards.

Katie Bain
We are here with the one and the only Teddy Swims. Teddy, congrats on all of the success this year. Yes, ma’am. Thank you so much. Of course, “Lose Control” your first Hot 100 No.1. It hit No.1 in March. Tell me about the moment you found out, and then how you celebrated.

Teddy Swims
So we had found out, and I was going into Vegas, and my whole family came out too. So we were flying to Vegas, and when I found out, and it was, it was really awesome. My whole family’s gonna be there. And I think I over celebrated a little bit for sure. We ended up, I think, I think we ended up canceling the show after that, like, a couple days later, they’re used to it out there, though, when I was talking to people, they’re like, Yeah, we call it the Vegas flu out here, because it happens to be more it’s completely understandable. It’s your first No.1, So maybe the next time I won’t be going too hard.

Katie Bain
Well, you want to get your first No.1. So if you had to get the Vegas flu for something, you know, it’s a perfect place to be, for sure. What did it mean for you? You know, after all this work and all this time, to hit No.1 on the Hot 100?

Teddy Swims
I sobbed like a baby, you know, and just to have my dad and my mom there, and, you know, my whole family, it was just, it was the most beautiful thing. I again, I think my mom is so, so happy. She just, she’s more emotional than I am about any of this. You know, I’m just happy to make, make my mom and dad proud. It’s just, it’s the coolest feeling ever, and all my team and friends, it’s, it’s the best.
