Drake is off to the races in the U.K. with For All The Dogs (via OVO/Republic Records).
The Canadian hip-hop giant leads the midweek chart, and appears set to score his sixth U.K. No. 1 — and second in less than a year, following 2022’s collaborative effort Her Loss with 21 Savage.

Drizzy’s delayed eighth solo studio dropped at 6am ET last Friday, Oct. 6, the culmination of nearly 10 months of teasing and delays.

Spread across 23 songs, the LP features assists from SZA, J. Cole, Chief Keef, Sexyy Red, Snoop Dogg, Sade, Teezo Touchdown, Bad Bunny, Yeat, 21 Savage, Lil Yachty and PARTYNEXTDOOR. His U.K. albums chart leaders to date include Views (2016), Scorpion (2018), Dark Lane Demo Tapes (2020) and Certified Lover Boy (2021); his last solo full-length recording, Honestly, Nevermind, peaked at No. 2 on the Official U.K. Albums Chart in June 2022.

Eyeing a No. 2 debut on the national survey is Nines with Crop Circle 3 (Zino). If it holds its course, Crop Circle 3 would become the British rapper’s second top 10 album in less than six months, after Crop Circle 2 hit No. 2 in May.

Roger Waters’ Dark Side of the Moon Redux (Cooking Vinyl) has come into view on the midweek chart, and is set to spin in at No. 3. The reissue celebrates the legacy of Pink Floyd’s masterpiece Dark Side Of The Moon from 1973, which has logged 560 weeks on national chart and is recognized as one of the most successful British albums of all time.

Pink Floyd has six U.K. No. 1 albums, though Dark Side isn’t one of them; it peaked at No. 2 in 1973.

Completing an all-new top four on the Official Chart Update is Sufjan Stevens’ Javelin (Asthmatic Kitty). If Javelin flies in at No. 4, it would give the veteran U.S. indie singer and songwriter his career best chart position in the U.K., bettering the No. 6 for 2015’s Carrie & Lowell.

Finally, Joel Corry‘s Another Friday Night (Atlantic) is set for a new peak position, up 45-6 on the chart blast, while new releases from Stornoway (Dig The Mountain! at No. 14 via Cooking Vinyl), MC Slim (Still Working 2 at No. 16 via Warner Records) and Joe Bonamassa (Blues Deluxe: Volume 2 at No. 19 via Provogue) should land U.K. top 40 debuts.

All will be revealed when the Official U.K. Albums Chart is published late Friday, Oct. 13.

BTS star Jung Kook bags the top debut on the U.K. singles chart, and with it, a piece of history.
Jung Kook’s “3D” (via BigHit Entertainment) with Jack Harlow bows at No. 5 on the Official U.K. Singles Chart, published Friday, Oct. 6, behind the weeks-long leader,  Doja Cat‘s “Paint The Town Red” (Ministry of Sound).

With that strong start for “3D,” Jung Kook becomes the first Korean solo act to score two top 5 singles in the U.K.; his debut solo single, “Seven,” featuring Latto, debuted at No. 3 earlier this year, setting a chart record.

Both tracks will appear on the K-pop artist’s first solo album GOLDEN, due out Nov. 3.

As a group, BTS has landed four singles in the U.K. top 10, including three No. 3s — for 2020’s “Dynamite,” “Butter” and Coldplay collaboration “My Universe” (both from 2021). All seven members of the K-pop phenomenon – Jin, Jimin, Suga, Jung Kook, RM, V and J-Hope – have shared solo material, with Jimin setting the bar with a first top 10 for “Like Crazy” (peaking at No. 8) in March; he separately secured a top 40 appearance with “Set Me Free Pt. 2,” hitting No. 30.

J-Hope was the first member of BTS to bag a U.K. top 40 single, thanks to his J. Cole collaboration “On The Street” peaking at No. 37.

Historically, the only other Korean solo artist to have bagged two U.K. top 10 singles is PSY, with 2012’s “Gangnam Style” (No. 1) and 2013’s “Gentleman” (No. 10).

Meanwhile, Doja Cat checks in for a fifth straight week at No. 1 with “Paint The Town Red,” which holds off a feisty challenge from Kenya Grace’s “Strangers” (FFRR), unchanged at No. 2, and Tate McCrae’s “Greedy” (Ministry of Sound), up 5-3 for a new peak position.

South African singer Tyla enjoys her first U.K. top 10 as “Water” (RCA) rises 16-10, while Nigeria-born Afrobeats star Burna Boy is moving on up with “City Boys” (Atlantic), his 13th top 40. “City Boy” improves 17-14.

U.S. singer and songwriter Mitski is close behind and climbing fast with “My Love Mine All Mine” (Dead Oceans), rocketing 34-15 for a new peak.

Finally, Ed Sheeran has his 62nd U.K. top 40 hit with “American Town” (Gingerbread Man), new at No. 27. It’s lifted from his seventh and latest studio album Autumn Variations, the current U.K. No. 1 LP.

Ed Sheeran extends his perfect U.K. albums chart record as Autumn Variations (via Gingerbread Man) debuts at No. 1.
Produced with the National’s Aaron Dessner, Autumn Variations bows at the summit of the Official U.K. Albums Chart, published Friday, Oct. 6, for the Brit’s seventh straight leader.

The leader at the halfway stage, when it dominated its nearest competitor by more than two-combined-sales-to-one, Autumn Variations is Sheeran’s second leader this year. It finishes the U.K. chart week as the best-seller on wax, and follows national No. 1s with his 2011 debut + (plus), 2014’s x (multiply), 2017’s ÷ (divide), 2019’s No. 6 Collaborations Project, 2021’s = (equals) and 2023’s – (subtract).

Olivia Rodrigo’s sophomore LP Guts (Geffen) holds at No. 2 for a third consecutive week, while Jorja Smith enjoys a podium finish with her second studio album Falling Or Flying (FAMM), new at No. 3. Smith, the 2018 BRITs Critics Choice award winner, has now landed three titles in the U.K. top 10, a tally that includes her 2018 debut Lost & Found (No. 3) and 2021 EP Be Right Back (No. 9).

Also new to the top tier is The Harmony Codex (SW Records), the third solo album from Porcupine Tree‘s Steven Wilson. It’s new at No. 4 on the U.K. chart, matching the peak of his previous effort, 2021’s The Future Bites (2017’s To the Bone reached No. 3).

Meanwhile, U.S. rock act Black Stone Cherry nabs a fourth U.K. top 10 album with Screamin’ at the Sky (Mascot), new at No. 6.

Further down the list, British synth-wave outfit Gunship rides to a new career peak position with Unicorn (Horsie In The Hedge), bowing at No. 26; U.K. Eurovision 2023 rep Mae Muller scores her first U.K. top 40 album with Sorry I’m Late (Capitol), arriving at No. 33, and British soul veteran Beverley Knight nabs an eighth with The Fifth Chapter (Tag8), starting at No. 39.

It’s Ed Sheeran season on Australia’s albums chart as Autumn Variations (via Gingerbread Man) debuts at No. 1.
Produced by the National’s Aaron Dessner, Autumn Variations is Sheeran’s second leader on the ARIA Chart in 2023, and his seventh in total – all consecutive. Autumn Variations follows + ( plus from 2012), X (multiply from 2014), ÷ (divide from 2017), No. 6 Collaborations Project (2019), = (equals from 2019) and – (subtract from 2023) in hurtling all the way to the top.

Australians have adopted Sheeran like one of their own. Earlier this year, the British singer and songwriter completed another lap of stadiums in these parts – and broke several more records – for his Mathematics Tour.

When the “Shape Of You” singer last toured Australia, in 2018, also with Frontier Touring, he shifted more than 1 million tickets, a feat that wiped Dire Straits’ record for a single trek (950,000) that had stood for since the 1980s.

On the latest ARIA Albums Chart, the podium is completed by Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts (at No. 2 via Geffen/Universal) and the Weeknd’s The Highlights (at No. 3 via Universal), both unmoved from the previous week.

Meanwhile, U.S. pop-rock outfit Lany makes its first appearance on the ARIA Top 50 with A Beautiful Blur (Virgin/Universal), new at No. 4. That result crushes Lany’s previous best result, No. 53 for their 2017 self-titled debut LP.

Country music has been hot on Australia’s charts this year, and homegrown singer James Johnston gets in on the action with Raised Like That (Ditto Music), his debut album. Raised Like That starts at No. 7 on the ARIA Albums Chart, published Oct. 6. Its title track dropped in 2021 and became the fastest-ever debut single by an Australian country singer to reach one million streams, ARIA reports.

Also new to the top tier is Kimosabè, the fourth studio album by Angus Stone’s Dope Lemon project. It’s new at No. 9, and follows Rose Pink Cadillac (No. 2 in 2022), Smooth Big Cat (No. 2 in 2019) and Honey Bones (No. 11 in 2016). As a member of sibling duo Angus & Julia Stone, he claimed No. 1s with Down The Way in 2010 and Angus & Julia Stone in 2014, and, as a solo artist, reached No. 2 with 2012’s Broken Brights.

On Thursday Oct. 5, BMG announced it had acquired the Dope Lemon recordings catalog from Stone, in a deal that included those three earlier album and the 2017 EP Hounds Tooth. BMG released Kimosabè through a new recording deal.

Last week’s leader, Kylie Minogue‘s 16th studio album Tension (Liberator Music/BMG), tumbles 1-10.

Over on the ARIA Singles Chart, Doja Cat’s “Paint The Town Red” (RCA/Sony) enters a seventh week at No. 1, ahead of Tate McRae’s “Greedy” (up 3-2 for a new peak via RCA/Sony), and Kenya Grace’s “Strangers” (down 3-2 via Warner).

“Paint The Town Red” moves up the list of longest-reigning No. 1 tracks this year. Doja’s hit draws level with Dave and Central Cee’s “Sprinter” for third on a tally that’s led by Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” (12 weeks), and Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” (eight weeks).

Finally, BTS’ Jung Kook has the top debut on Australia’s singles chart this week with “3D” (Warner/Universal) featuring Jack Harlow. It’s new at No. 7. The K-pop star’s “Seven” featuring Latto peaked at No. 2 earlier this year, and impacts the top 40, holding at No. 38. Harlow now has a fourth top 10 in Australia, a list that includes “What’s Poppin” (No. 8 in 2020), “Industry Baby” with Lil Nas X (No. 4 in 2021) and “First Class,” which flew all the way to No. 1 for a two-week stint in 2022.

BTS star Jung Kook is on track for his high-charting solo single in the U.K. as “3D” makes a bright start.Based on midweek sales and streaming data published by the Official Charts Company, “3D” (via BigHit Entertainment), which features Louisville rapper Jack Harlow, is set to bow at No. 2, for the week’s highest debut.

“3D,” which leads Billboard’s new music poll this week with 62% of the vote, appears to be closing the gap on the incumbent, Doja Cat’s “Paint the Town Red” (Ministry of Sound). In an earlier update from the OCC, “3D” entered at No. 3, before leapfrogging Kenya Grace’s “Strangers” (FFRR), now appearing likely to dip 2-3 on the national singles tally.

In the meantime, Doja Cat’s hit remains in the box seat for a fifth consecutive week at No. 1 in the U.K.

Jung Kook made U.K. chart history earlier this year with “Seven,” his collaboration with Latto. The track landed at No. 3 on the Official U.K. Singles Chart, published July 21, for the highest-charting debut by a solo Korean act.

All seven members of the BTS – Jin, Jimin, Suga, Jung Kook, RM, V and J-Hope – have shared solo material.

First, bandmate j-hope set the mark with his J. Cole collaboration “On The Street,” peaking at No. 37 in the U.K. Then Jimin bettered it, nabbing his own top 40 appearance with “Set Me Free Pt. 2” (No. 30 peak). Jimin then reset the bar with a top 10 for “Like Crazy,” peaking at No. 8 in March.

If “3D” holds its spot, or goes one better, it would give Jung Kook a higher U.K. chart position than any single released by BTS. The K-pop phenomenon has a peak of No. 3 on the Official U.K. Singles Chart, achieved on three occasions – with 2020’s “Dynamite,” plus “Butter” and “My Universe” with Coldplay (both from 2021).

The next-best debut on the U.K. chart should belong to Ed Sheeran, with “American Town” forecast to debut at No. 23, and “Magical” poised to enter at No. 37, for what would be the English singer and songwriter’s 62nd and 63rd top 40 appearances. “American Town” and “Magical” are lifted from Sheeran’s Autumn Variations (Gingerbread Man), which is sailing to No. 1 on the U.K. albums chart.

The Official U.K. Singles Chart is published late Friday, Oct. 6.

Rod Wave spends a second week atop the Billboard 200 chart (dated Oct. 7) with Nostalgia, after debuting at No. 1 a week ago. The set earned 88,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Sept. 28 (down 36%) according to Luminate. It’s the first of his three No. 1s to have led for multiple weeks.

Also in the top 10 of the new Billboard 200, Doja Cat’s Scarlet starts at No. 4 while Zach Bryan’s new Boys of Faith bows at No. 8.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. The new Oct. 7, 2023-dated chart will be posted in full on Billboard‘s website on Oct. 3. For all chart news, follow @billboard and @billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram.

Of Nostalgia’s 88,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Sept. 28, SEA units comprise 87,500 (equaling 124.51 million on-demand official streams of the set’s 18 songs), album sales comprise 500, and TEA units comprise a negligible sum.

Nostalgia’s 88,000 sum is the smallest total for a No. 1 album in seven months, since SZA’s SOS led the list dated March 4 with 87,000 units.

Olivia Rodrigo’s chart-topping Guts holds at No. 2 on the new Billboard 200 (87,500 equivalent album units; down 34%) and Morgan Wallen’s former No. 1 One Thing at a Time climbs one rung to No. 3 (73,000; down 3%).

Doja Cat captures her third top 10 album on the Billboard 200, all notched consecutively, as her new studio set Scarlet starts at No. 4 with nearly 72,000 equivalent album units earned. Of that sum, SEA units comprise 65,000 (equaling 88.35 million on-demand official audio and video streams of the set’s 17 songs), album sales comprise 6,000 (the set was only available as a digital download, CD and in a deluxe boxed set with a T-shirt and CD) and TEA units comprise 1,000. The digital and streaming edition of the album was available in a standard 15-song edition and a deluxe 17-track version.

Scarlet was preceded by three charting songs on the Billboard Hot 100: “Demons,” “Paint the Town Red” and “Attention.” “Paint the Town Red” became her second No. 1 on the Hot 100 on the Sept. 16-dated chart (following 2020’s “Say So,” featuring Nicki Minaj).

Doja Cat previously hit the top 10 on the Billboard 200 with Planet Her (No. 2 in 2021) and Hot Pink (No. 9 in 2020).

Zach Bryan’s chart-topping self-titled album falls 3-5 on the new Billboard 200 (66,000 equivalent album units; down 16%), SZA’s SOS dips 5-6 (49,000; down 7%) and Travis Scott’s former leader Utopia descends 6-7 (just over 44,000; down 6%).

A second Bryan album appears in the top 10, as his new five-song Boys of Faith project bows at No. 8 with 43,500 equivalent album units earned. Of that sum, SEA units comprise 39,000 (equaling 50.35 million on-demand official audio and video streams of the set’s songs), album sales comprise 4,000 and TEA units comprise 500. Boys of Faith is the third top 10-charting effort for Bryan, and second in 2023, following his self-titled No. 1, which debuted at the summit just four weeks earlier. He has also hit the top 10 with the No. 5-peaking American Heartbreak in 2022.

Rounding out the top 10 on the new Billboard 200 is Peso Pluma’s Génesis (moving 7-9 with 43,000 equivalent album units earned; down 7%) and Taylor Swift’s former leader Midnights (8-10 with 42,000; up less than 1%).

Luminate, the independent data provider to the Billboard charts, completes a thorough review of all data submissions used in compiling the weekly chart rankings. Doja Cat completes a fourth consecutive week at No. 1 in the U.K. with “Paint the Town Red” (via Ministry of Sound).
The U.S. star’s hit is, once again, the most-streamed single in the U.K. with more than 6 million plays over the past seven-day cycle, the Official Charts Company reports.

The leader at the midweek stage, “Paint the Town Red” holds-off a fast-rising Kenya Grace, whose “Strangers” (FFRR) lifts 3-2, for a new peak.

Also on the jump is Cassö, RAYE and D-Block Europe’s “Prada” (Ministry of Sound), up 4-3 for a new high.

Canadian singer and songwriter Tate McRae’s break-up anthem “Greedy” (Ministry of Sound) lifts 8-5 for a new peak position – giving venerated British dance label Ministry of Sound three of the top 5 singles. “Greedy” is closing in of McRae’s career best chart performance in the U.K., which she set in 2020 with “You Broke Me First,” which reached No. 3.

The top new entry on the latest chart, published Friday, Sept. 29, belongs to Nines as “Daily Duppy” (Zino) starts at No. 20. That’s the London rapper’s fifth top 40 entry.

Close behind is Tom Odell’s “Black Friday” (Urok) new at No. 21, for the British singer and songwriter’s fourth U.K. top 40 single.

Meanwhile, reunited pop-punk veterans Blink-182 land a 12th U.K. top 40 single with “One More Time” (Columbia), the title track from their forthcoming album. It’s new at No. 28 for the trio’s highest-charting U.K. single 2004’s “Down” hit No. 24. ONE MORE TIME is due out on Oct. 20 via Columbia Records.

Finally, Doja Cat’s Scarlet album cut “Agora Hills” bows at No. 29, while two tracks from Headie One and K-Trap impact the top 40. “Triple Threat” with Clavish debuts at No. 31, while “Park Chinois” improves 50-39. Both titles appear on the British hip-hop acts’ U.K. top 10 collaborative mixtape Strength To Strength.

Kylie Minogue can’t be stopped in the U.K. chart race, as Tension (via BMG) blasts to No. 1.
Australia’s “princess of pop” bags a ninth leader with Tension, which earns 53,000 chart sales in its first week (including market-leading vinyl sales), to outsell the rest of the top 5 combined, the Official Charts Company reports.

The runaway leader at the halfway stage, Tension features the U.K. top 10 single “Padam Padam” and is Kylie’s 16th studio album.

Tension joins Minogue’s previous U.K. leaders, which include 1988 debut Kylie, 1989’s Enjoy Yourself, 1992’s Greatest Hits, 2001’s Fever, 2010’s Aphrodite, 2018’s Golden, 2019’s Step Back in Time: The Definitive Collection and 2020’s Disco.

With that feat, Kylie levels-up with Bob Dylan and Coldplay on the list of acts with the most No. 1s albums on the Official Chart, with nine apiece.

The only female solo artists ahead of Kylie on the all-time list are Taylor Swift (with 10) and Madonna (12).

Meanwhile, Olivia Rodrigo’s former leader Guts (Geffen) holds at No. 2 on the Official U.K. Albums Chart, published Oct. 29, and the Weeknd’s career-retrospective Highlights (Republic Records/XOis unchanged at No. 3, in its 138ths week on the survey.

Homegrown hip-hop stars  Headie One and K-Trap and K-Trap bow at No. 4 with their first collaborative album, Strength to Strength (via One Thousand8). It’s Headie One’s (real name: Irving Ampofo Adjei) third top 5 appearance following 2019’s Music x Road (No. 5 peak) and 2020 chart-topper EDNA; while K-Trap (real name Devonte Kasi Martin Perkins) scores a career peak, beating 2022’s The Last Whip II, which topped out at No. 12.

Doja Cat’s nabs her third top 40 appearance with Scarlet (Ministry of Sound), new at No. 5. Doja’s previous appearances on the national albums chart included 2021’s Planet Her (No. 3) and 2019’s Hot Pink (No. 38).

Finally, North London-born experimental artist Bakar (real name: Abubakar Baker Shariff-Farr) earns a career best with Nobody’s Home (Black Butter), new at No. 15, while Scottish alternative rock legends Teenage Fanclub bag a 10th top 40 album with Nothing Lasts Forever (Pema), new at No. 30.

Australia’s very own “princess of pop,” Kylie Minogue, is now queen of Australia’s albums chart as Tension (via Liberation/Universal) opens at No. 1.
Tension becomes Kylie’s eighth leader on the ARIA Chart, and fourth in succession. The pop legend previously led the national tally with Light Years in 2000, Fever in 2001, X in 2007, Kiss Me Once in 2014, Golden in 2018, Step Back In Time: The Definitive Collection in 2019 and Disco in 2020.

“All hail the queen,” comments ARIA CEO Annabelle Herd. “On behalf of everyone at ARIA, and as a superfan, it is my absolute pleasure to congratulate Kylie for her fourth consecutive No. 1 album debut. It’s a thrill to see an ARIA Hall of Fame artist continue to dominate, reinvent and represent Australian music on such a global scale. We can’t wait to celebrate her success at this year’s awards.”

Across her 35-year recording career, Kylie has bagged 10 No. 1 singles, and collected 16 ARIA Awards.

She can add to that tally at the 2023 ARIA Awards this November, where’s she’s nominated for four categories – best solo artist, best pop release, best independent release and song of the year, all for “Padam Padam,” the first single lifted from Tension.

Back in 2011, Minogue was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame, with then-prime minister Julia Gillard doing the honors.

Minogue’s 16th studio album, Tension has been clocking impressive numbers around the globe. In her adopted homeland, the U.K., the album was outselling the rest of the top 20 at the midweek stage, and Tension placed at No. 3 on Spotify’s Top Albums Debut U.K. Chart. The set also this week cracked the top 5 of the DSP’s Top Albums Debut USA and Top Albums Debut Global Chart.

Kylie’s Tension isn’t the only new arrival on the ARIA Chart, published Sept. 29. Homegrown indie rock act Holy Holy debuts at No. 4 with Cellophane (Wonderlick/Sony), the group’s fifth studio album and third top 10. That’s an equal career high for Holy Holy, drawing level with Hello My Beautiful World, which hit No. 4 in 2021.

Close behind is Doja Cat with Scarlet (RCA/Sony), her fourth studio album. It’s new at No. 5 for the U.S. star’s second top 10 album in Australia, after 2021’s Planet Her peaked at No. 2.

Doja Cat continues to paint the ARIA Singles Chart red; her Scarlet hit “Paint The Town Red” enters a sixth consecutive week at the No. 1.

Finally, South African-born, U.K.-based artist Kenya Grace continues to make her mark on the national singles survey with “Strangers” (Warner). Grace’s breakthrough drum ‘n bass-fueled single, and first through a major label, leaps 6-2 for a new peak position.

For the first time since 2011, Diddy is back in the top five on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart thanks to his new album, The Love Album: Off the Grid. The set, released on Sept. 15 via the mogul’s own Love Records, earned 27,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Sept. 21, according to Luminate.

Streaming contributes 24,000 units of the 27,000-unit starting sum, equaling 31.7 million official U.S. audio and video on-demand streams of the project’s tracks. Traditional album sales contribute 2,000 of the remaining units, with 1,000 units of activity from track-equivalent album units. (One unit equals the following levels of consumption: one album sale, 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams for a song on the album.)

The Love Album: Off the Grid gives Diddy his sixth top 10 album on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. In total, Diddy has notched seven entries on the chart, all of which reached the top five save for the MMM mixtape, which hit No. 45 in 2016. Here’s a rundown of the collection, which now stretches to 26 years and one month:

In addition, the album’s new single, the rap-leaning “Another One of Me,” with French Montana and The Weeknd and featuring 21 Savage, enters multiple charts, including a No. 29 start on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay and a No. 34 bow on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.
