V is preparing to enlist in the South Korean military, and took to Weverse on Sunday (Dec. 10) to share an emotional message to BTS’ fans, called the ARMY.
“I will miss you so much,” the note, written in Korean, reads. “Actually, I’m really sad that I can’t make happy memories with my ARMY for the time being […] it’s the hardest not to see the ARMY. I’II be back after 18 months of being healthy, so take care of your ARMY and if you’re looking for something to be happy about every day, cheers! I’m here! I’ll be back!”

“Within 18 months, I’ve prepared a lot of things. Please look forward do it,” the 27-year-old singer added, before concluding, “I’ll really miss you. I love you so much.”

See his full message on Weverse here, which also includes a number of selfies of V, including the singer with a shaved head before he heads off to the military.

V is fresh off the release of a music video for “Blue,” the fourth single from his debut album, Layover. The set — which includes “Love Me Again,” “Slow Dancing” (plus its piano version), “For Us” and “Rainy Days” — arrived on Sept. 8.

The K-pop supergroup’s label, Big Hit, shared earlier this month that the final four band members — RM, Jimin, V and Jung Kook — are beginning their military enlistment process, following Jin, J-Hope and Suga, who are already enlisted. “We ask that you only give a warm send-off and encouragement to RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook with your heart,” the statement read.

South Korea requires an 18-month military service stint for all able-bodied men by the time they turn 28. BTS announced a pause in their group work in October 2022 to allow all the singers to enlist. BTS is expected to reconvene in 2025 when all have completed their duty to country.

J-Hope gave fans a fun military update on Tuesday night (May 23) when he took to his Instagram Stories to share a photo of himself in his uniform. In the photo, the 29-year-old BTS star is seen giving a soft smile as he salutes the camera. See the photo before it disappears here. Over on […]

J-Hope jumped on social media on Monday (April 17) to share an optimistic message with ARMY ahead of his enlistment in the South Korean military.

“I’ll have a good trip!!” the BTS member wrote on Instagram in his native Korean against a yellowed paper backdrop. Fans also got a surprise when they swiped to the next slide, with the “Arson” rapper giving a first look at his newly shorn, military-approved buzzcut. He also posted a separate message on Weverse, saying, “I love you ARMY…I’ll go and come back well,” while flashing an adorable salute to the camera.

While comments were turned off on J-Hope’s Instagram post, ARMY flooded Twitter with well-wishes and heartbroken goodbyes. “We are so proud of u, our HOPE,” one fan wrote with a trio of heart emojis while another tweeted, “My life is leaving in a second” followed by three sobbing faces.

With the start of his mandatory military service looming, J-Hope becomes the second member of the K-pop boy band to serve after Jin, who began basic training in mid-December at a military base near the tense border with North Korea. At the time, he got a sweet send-off from all six of his bandmates, and J-Hope and Jimin even got to visit him at a different military camp at the beginning of last month.

J-Hope certainly made the most of the time before he joined the military — releasing his debut solo album Jack in the Box, which debuted at No. 17 on the Billboard 200 and included hit singles “MORE” and “Arson.” He also made history by headlining Lollapalooza (as documented in his Disney+ documentary J-Hope IN THE BOX), became a house ambassador for Louis Vuitton and later collaborated with J. Cole on one-off single “On the Street.”

Jonathan Majors’ week is off to a very bad start. The Army has pulled its advertising campaign featuring the actor.

As per NBC News, the United States Army has decided to withdraw its efforts to encourage individuals to sign up for the service. Recently they launched a series of spots starring the Creed III talent with hopes of attracting more of the Gen Z community.

But on Saturday, March 25 the Santa Barbara County, Calif. native was arrested on assault charges stemming from a domestic dispute. Representatives from the New York City Police report that a 30-year-old woman “sustained minor injuries to her head and neck and was removed to an area hospital in stable condition”.

Laura DeFrancisco, a spokesperson for the Army Enterprise Marketing Office, has responded to Majors’ legal issues in a formal statement to The Army Times.
“The U.S. Army is aware of the arrest of Jonathan Majors and we are deeply concerned by the allegations surrounding his arrest,” DeFrancisco stated. “While Mr. Majors is innocent until proven guilty, prudence dictates that we pull our ads until the investigation into these allegations is complete.”
Jonathan Majors’ criminal defense lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, also provided a statement saying her client is not guilty of the charges.
“We are quickly gathering and presenting evidence to the District Attorney with the expectation that all charges will be dropped imminently”.
The actor has yet to comment on the matter.

A sweet treat. Jin surprised ARMY with a Valentine’s Day message posted to the official BTS YouTube channel on Tuesday (Feb. 14).

“Hello everyone, it’s Jin. It’s February now and I came here to see you….In February, there’s Valentine’s Day. Right? I’m pretty sure. Which is why I prepared these desserts here,” the K-pop idol says in the clip, showing off the tray of colorful macarons in front of him.

Pointing out that he’s rounded up seven of the French confections because of the seven members in BTS, Jin proceeds to write a message in his native Korean on the macarons, spelled out entirely in chocolate sauce. “Since only ARMY are gonna be watching this video, I’m gonna write stuff related to ARMY,” he says before struggling to spell out the name of the BTS fandom in chocolate on the first two pastries.

From there, “The Astronaut” singer decides to add more to the message, writing, “I love you lots” with a heart on the last macaron. (“It’s harder than I thought, this requires a lot of skills,” he mentions before declaring, “This is perfect.”)

The video message comes at the perfect time for ARMY whom are missing Jin while he’s in basic training as part of his required enlistment in the South Korean military. But don’t worry, the vocalist finished up the clip by promising he’d “come back with something else next month” on the BTS YouTube channel before signing off with a cheery “Bye!”

In other BTS news, Suga unveiled the dates for his very first solo tour earlier this week, which will begin April 26 at UBS Arena in Belmont Park, New York.
