Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is making a bold play, eyeing NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers as his potential vice president pick.
According to reports, presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy has reached out to New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers to gauge his interest in becoming his vice president. Kennedy has confirmed that the veteran signal-caller is at the “top” of a list of candidates along with former Minnesota governor and professional wrestler, Jesse Ventura. He also said that he and Rodgers have been speaking “pretty continuously” and that Rodgers appeared to be very receptive to the idea.

Kennedy, who comes from a storied political family, has become more prominent in recent years due to his vaccine skepticism and voiced backing of conspiracy theories about the federal government and its public health system. Rodgers, 40, who is set to return as the Jets starting quarterback after getting injured in the first minutes of the past season, has become a somewhat polarizing figure as he has also embraced being a contrarian provocateur when it comes to vaccine skepticism during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He has backed Kennedy multiple times in the past few months. Ventura has previously said that if Kennedy considered him he would be honored, but his son, Tyrel Ventura, said in an email to the New York Times: “No one has officially asked Gov. Ventura to be a vice-presidential candidate so the governor does not comment on speculation.”
Given that the National Football League begins its season in September, there are questions as to how Rodgers would operate if he were to officially accept the role. Kennedy has reportedly also spoken to former Democratic presidential candidate and New York City mayoral candidate Andrew Yang, Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky, and former Representative Tulsi Gabbard. All three declined to comment on if those conversations took place to the press, but a source close to Kennedy’s campaign claimed that all three declined to be considered.
The added star power of Rodgers could boost Kennedy’s numbers – at present, he’s sitting in third place with a potential 15% of voters behind incumbent Democratic President Joe Biden at 35.5% and Republican nominee Donald Trump at 39.8%, according to polling data from Real Clear.

Ice Cube is firing back at social media critics taking him to task for apparently being chummy with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in a recently posted photo.

The Hip-Hop icon and businessman has come under scrutiny after the son of the slain Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy and nephew of the late President John F. Kennedy was in attendance at the BIG3 Basketball event held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on Sunday (July 9th). The Democratic Party presidential candidate and his campaign manager, Dennis Kucinich posed for a photo with Cube afterward which was shared to Twitter. “@Dennis_Kucinich and I spent a wonderful evening with one of our country’s most influential and outspoken civil rights leaders @icecube!”, the caption read.

The photo didn’t sit well with people online, who immediately voiced their displeasure at the West Coast legend being in a picture with Kennedy, who has been a notorious anti-vaxxer and COVID-19 denier. They also had jokes for the 69-year-old Kennedy calling him “a civil rights legend.” But it didn’t take long for the “Steady Mobbin’” rapper to issue his own tweet in response. “For all the simple minded short bus people out there. A picture is not an endorsement, dummy. Now get your ass over to bungalow 51 and STFU,” he wrote.

One fan directly wrote to Ice Cube expressing disappointment: “My brotha ice cube, I’ve been listening to you since 1993 you went from arrest the president, fuk the police, straight outta Compton, the list goes on,” they wrote. “I’m highly disappointed in you brotha, what’s your mission? Because of you I still rep the West pls tell me your not selling out.” Ice Cube’s reply was fiery: “Sellout? I work for myself. I’m self-made. How do you feed your family??? How much do you sell your time for per hour on your job?”

The AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted artist did garner some support from fans as well as from his peers, such as Chuck D of Public Enemy who tweeted out a sketch of him, writing: “Know this fact. @icecube has gone into every one of these ‘industries’ many of the masses worship… on HIS own rule and as his OWN MAN. A game that’s twisted many into demise. Not him. Know that. Seen the same dude since the day I met him. He KNOWS who he is. Know who YOU are.” Cube replied by quote-tweeting, “Thanks Big Bruh.”

A prominent user of ivermectin died earlier this month and many following his practice are starting to experience brutal side effects, but administrators have denied that it’s due to the medicine.

According to reports, Rhode Island native Danny Lemoi was a widely-known anti-vaxxer who regularly touted the use of ivermectin as the creator of a Telegram group, Dirt Road Discussions. Hours after posting the self-deprecating message “HAPPY FRIDAY ALL YOU POISONOUS HORSE PASTE EATING SURVIVORS !!!” on March 7th, Lemoi died. The 50-year-old heavy machine operator’s family didn’t publicly state his cause of death.

Administrators for Dirt Road Discussions addressed Lemoi’s death, alleging that it was “a family history of heart disease and chronic stress” that led to his death before concluding: “We understand that this is going to raise questions for those who were following him.” Lemoi had actually been taking the veterinary form of ivermectin since 2012 and said on a podcast in November it was after he was diagnosed with Lyme disease and he felt that it “regenerated” his heart muscle and stopped taking all other medicine. The group administrators would also claim that “all of his other organs were unremarkable,” but offered no further comment to press inquiries about that claim.
Others in the group who had been following his “protocols” have expressed that they’re experiencing heavy side effects from ivermectin use. “I’m 4 months now and all hell’s breaking loose, all pain has hit my waist down with sciatic, shin splints, restless leg syndrome, tight sore calves & it feels like some pain in the bones,” one user reported. Lemoi had previously cited side effects that others would experience as “herxing”, which is the short form of the Jarisch-Herxheimer reaction (JHR), a phenomenon of an increase in non-specific symptoms that do occur in those who begin antibiotic treatments.
The Food and Drug Administration has consistently warned people to not take the veterinary form of ivermectin slated for horses due to the concentration of the medicine for larger animals. “Such high doses can be highly toxic in humans,” it states. The FDA has also shown that ivermectin for humans, which is primarily used to treat infections that cause river blindness, has been shown to be ineffective in combatting cases of COVID-19.
