Doritos and DJ Pee .Wee are the fun-loving combo we never knew we needed.

Doritos revealed on Thursday (Mar. 9) that it’s teaming up with Billboard to bring Doritos After Dark, its recently piloted ghost kitchen menu, to SXSW for one night only at an exclusive experience.

Set in a triangle-inspired space, Doritos After Dark at Billboard House will allow attendees to sample the brand’s previous menu, like Doritos Sweet Chili Chicken Bites, as well as two exclusive dishes inspired by the food scene in Austin, Texas, including Doritos BBQ Pulled Pork Nachos and Doritos Flamin’ Hot Limon Margarita Cheesecake.

Additionally DJ Pee .Wee (a.k.a Anderson .Paak) will spin one of his popular vinyl-only sets for attendees.

“Inspired by those exhilarating hours between sunset and sunrise, Doritos After Dark encourages fans to try another angle and embrace unexpected late-night eats,” said Stacy Taffet, senior vice president of brand marketing of Frito-Lay North America, in a press statement. “As a brand that has its finger on the pulse of pop culture, this collaboration was designed to showcase the food, music and technology that SXSW and Doritos are all about.”

Doritos will take over the Billboard House on Thursday (March 16) at 800 Congress starting at 10:30 p.m. The experience will be available to SXSW badge holders on a first-come-first-served basis.

However, there are also two ways to score tickets and skip the line. Starting on Friday (March 10) head to www.billboard.com/doritos-after-dark to enter for a chance to win two tickets to the experience. Fans can also head over to 604 Driskill Street in Austin from March 13 to 14 to experience Doritos Taste the Night Tunnel, a kaleidoscopic journey complete with visuals, scents and sounds. There, participants can enter the sweepstakes by using the exclusive Doritos Triangle Tracker AR Lens developed by Snapchat and scanning the installation.

Doritos will also sponsor Billboard Presents The Stage at SXSW, where fans can enjoy the Doritos Dip Snack Bar. See more information about Doritos at SXSW at www.DoritosAfterDark.com.

Cordae and Anderson .Paak are a dream team on “Two Tens” — kind of.
The “So With That” rapper released the new track Wednesday (Jan. 25), but the flashy video sees .Paak soaking up all the attention that comes with new girls in his orbit, while Cordae ponders if the extra attention, time and money required is even worth it.

The video sees Cordae pulling up to a club where he meets the Silk Sonic member, something that he didn’t necessarily want to do in the first place. “Me and my n—a Anderson decided to pull up to the club, and I don’t even like going out, but if my n—a tell me pull up, I pull up easy, you know?” the rapper narrates the video before officially launching into the sleek visual.

The J. Cole-produced track, which borrows elements from ’90s-era hip-hop in the instrumentation, tells a story, with Cordae attempting to be a voice of reason for .Paak, who can barely control his excitement.

“Man, I love this b—h/ We gon’ travel and fill up the bucket list/ Have ’bout 10 kids on the ranch on some southern sh–,” the “Leave the Door Open” singer spits, infatuated with a girl who showers him with attention in the club bathroom.

“You mean sucker sh–/ Slave to the p—y since you discovered it/ Ten bands on Chanel purse, that’s bad budgetin’/ Plus you n—as always together, it’s mad smotherin’/ You simpin’ over b—-es, I never thought it would come to this,” Cordae replies, judging — and lamenting — his friends’ actions.

“Two Tens” is not the first track that Cordae and .Paak have dropped together: The pair’s “RNP” collaboration, released in 2019, just became certified platinum.

In other Cordae news, the rapper is expecting his first child with tennis star Naomi Osaka, who announced the news on Jan. 11. “I know that I have so much to look forward to in the future,” she wrote in her Twitter announcement. “One thing I’m looking forward to is for my kid to watch one of my matches and tell someone, ‘that’s my mom,’ haha.”

Silk Sonic reasserts its might on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart as the duo’s “After Last Night,” with Thundercat and funk legend Bootsy Collins, ascends to No. 1 on the list dated Nov. 19. The coronation gives the pair, comprised of Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak, their fourth champ from their first five singles.
“After Last Night” rises from No. 3 after a 12% gain in weekly plays that made the single the most-played song on U.S. monitored adult R&B radio stations in the week ending Nov. 13, according to Luminate. The track evicts Tank’s “Slow,” featuring J. Valentine, after its two weeks on top.

As noted, the new champ is the fourth No. 1 for Silk Sonic out of five singles since the duo’s first release in early 2021. The pair first reigned on Adult R&B Airplay with debut effort “Leave the Door Open” for 13 weeks in April – June 2021, returned to the summit with third single “Smokin out the Window” for one week in January 2022, and ran up another 13-week stay on top for fourth release “Love’s Train” in April – July of this year. Of their first five singles, the only one to miss the top slot was the second, “Skate,” which peaked at No. 4 in October 2021.

Four of the five tracks, sans “Love’s Train,” all originally appeared on Silk Sonic’s An Evening With Silk Sonic album upon its release in November 2021 (“Train,” released in February 2022, was added to the album’s digital and streaming versions.) An Evening With Silk Sonic debuted at No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Top R&B Albums charts, leading the former for one week and the latter for two terms.

With all four No. 1s now on the album, An Evening With Silk Sonic is only the second album to generate four Adult R&B Airplay No. 1s. Toni Braxton’s self-titled 1993 LP was the first, thanks to the chart-topping runs of “Another Sad Love Song,” “Breathe Again,” “Seven Whole Days” and “You Mean the World to Me” between September 1993 and March 1994.

As Silk Sonic also contributes to Mars and Anderson .Paak’s individual chart accounts, “After Last Night” gives Mars his eighth career No. 1 on Adult R&B Airplay, while Anderson .Paak notches his fourth. Thundercat claims his first champ on the list with his first entry, while Bootsy Collins earns his first leader with his second appearance on the 29-year-old list, after “Don’t Take My Funk” featuring Catfish Collins and Bobby Womack, stopped at No. 32 in 2011.

Elsewhere, “After Last Night” rides its adult R&B momentum to push 19-16 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, which measures songs by audience listenership from both adult R&B and mainstream R&B/hip-hop stations. There, the song improves 6% to 7.5 million in audience in the week ending Nov. 13. The rebound brings the song within two places of its No. 14 peak thus far, achieved four weeks ago.
