Justice has been served for the killers of A$AP Mob member A$AP Press, who passed away in 2018.

According to HipHopDX, 37-year-old Chester Taylor and 37-year-old Darius Hastings were just sentenced to 20 years to life for shooting Pressie Taylor Jr. aka A$AP Press in the head in 2016. Though Press had initially survived the assault, he passed away in 2018 when he suffered a fatal seizure, which was caused by the injury. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg announced the sentencing of the two men Friday (Sept. 8).

“Chester Taylor and Darius Hastings shot and killed a young Harlemite with great ambitions, talent and a bright future,” said Alvin Bragg in a statement. “Although Pressie Taylor Jr. miraculously survived the shooting in its initial aftermath, his life was forever changed. He made a valiant attempt at resuming his life and music career, but unfortunately, he succumbed to the effects of his serious injuries, depriving his family and community of a promising star.”

Bragg added, “Thanks to the jury’s careful review of the evidence, both defendants were found to be responsible for his murder, and I hope that the sentences imposed today bring the victim’s family some form of peace.”

Just a sad situation all around.
Members from the A$AP Mob have yet to publicly respond to the sentencing, but at least the family and friends of A$AP Press have some closure over the situation.
Rest In Peace, Press.

The infighting within the A$AP MOB continues to worsen. A$AP Relli has now filed a lawsuit against A$AP Rocky and his lawyer for defamation.

As spotted on TMZ the man born Terrell Ephron is alleging that his former friend and collaborator has slandered his good name. Rolling Stone Magazine reports that the claim is based on comments both men made after Relli said that Pretty Flacko shot him back in November 2021. A representative for Ephron gave an exclusive statement to Pitchfork concerning the matter. “Yesterday, Terell Ephron filed a defamation suit in Los Angeles Superior Court against Rakim Meyers, also known as A$AP Rocky, and his attorney, Joseph Tacopina of Tacopina Law for statements made to several media outlets in 2022. The statements were false and malicious, and have caused Mr. Ephron extreme reputational and emotional harm which must be remedied. Mr. Ephron looks forward to his day in court.”

While A$AP Rocky has yet to formally respond to this additional lawsuit his legal eagle has and says this is merely a money grab attempt by Relli. “This is actually nothing more than a publicity stunt which is going to backfire badly. I more than welcome this lawsuit especially because the resolution of the criminal case has not happened yet” Tacopina said in a statement to TMZ. “This opens up this extortionist to depositions under oath now before the resolution of the criminal case. It will expose the fraud he committed and unfortunately for his lawyers, it will cause them to be responsible for legal fees in this case. They don’t know the facts of this case or the actions taken by their client. But, I will be more than happy to educate them.”

The culture continues to learn how deep Virgil Abloh’s influence goes. A$AP Rocky reveals that the late great discovered A$AP MOB.

As spotted on HipHopDX the Harlem, New York native recently was honored at Harlem’s Fashion Row (HFR) 16th Annual Fashion Show & Style Awards the world famous Apollo Theatre. The “Wild for the Night” rapper received the Virgil Abloh Award and recalled how the creative was one of the collective’s earliest fans. “Virgil discovered A$AP as a bunch of kids before I got my record deal and any of that. We wasn’t old enough to get into this club called Le Bain. We were sneaking in type sh*t,” he explained.

“Virgil peeped us and unbeknownst to us, he was like, ‘Wait, y’all are those Harlem kids. The trendy ones.’ We was tripping like, ‘Wait, Virgil know about us. The fashion world know about us.’ A year later, I become A$AP Rocky.” He went on to further detail Virgil’s contribution to his solo career. “Virgil went on to design my first album cover and my first tour. It’s crazy because to be a trendsetter, it takes a lot of balls… The reason I can talk in front of y’all today is because of Harlem. Thank you Harlem fashion, bro.”
