This past weekend, the news spread that 2 Chainz had a brush with death when he was hospitalized after being involved in a car crash while he was enjoying himself in Miami, Florida.
According to TMZ, the “Presha” rapper was rushed to a local hospital Saturday morning (Dec. 9), after he was injured in a three-car crash following a night of partying at the Booby Trap strip club. Luckily for Chainz, the accident didn’t turn out to be life threatening. But the rapper did suffer a neck injury and possibly other injuries as well.
TMZ reports:
The rapper was driving on I-95 and about to exit when we’re told by informed sources a car hit his vehicle. We’re told cops suspect the other driver may have been driving under the influence.
It appears 2 Chainz was hit from behind because the damage to the car was on the front left driver’s side — and the damage is extensive, meaning the force of the crash was intense.
2 Chainz was in Miami to attend the annual Art Basel when the accident occurred. As of press time, Florida authorities say no one was killed in the three-car crash, but another man was transported to the hospital as well with no word on his condition.
2 Chainz should be counting his lucky stars as this could’ve been tragic for himself and the Hip-Hop culture.

Janelle Monáe continues to show the world how multitalented she is. She recently took the stage at 2 Chainz’ new strip club and the culture was here for it.
HipHopDX reports that the singer songwriter was in Atlanta on Friday, October 6. During the evening she paid a visit to 2 Chainz’ newest venture Candyland. It seems the adult establishment knows how to set the vibes; so much so the self-proclaimed “Lipstick Lover” headed to the stage for a dance or two. While she did not remove any of her clothing her moves were enough to keep the crowd in attendance entertained. In the house was the “Southside Hov” rapper and clearly he was impressed. He shared some footage of her routine to social media asking “Do you think she should work there on her off days.”
Naturally, the post quickly picked up traction online. Many IG users applauded her confidence while others were quick to note that the dancer in the background was the real hero. This is not the first time Janelle has worked her Black girl magic in such a seductive manner. Back in May she brought some West Indian energy to the Met Gala after party when she got on top of the main bar and started winding to Dancehall Reggae.
Located in the heart of Atlanta the juke joint recently opened on Tuesday, October 3. In an Instagram post 2 Chainz explained how special this business move is for him. “This is big. This is monumental for me; this is actually my birthday present to myself. So anybody that support or plan on supporting I just want to tell you I appreciate [it]” he said.

It’s been a hot minute since we’ve heard any new material from 2 Chainz, but luckily he has something coming down the pike for his fans, and he’ll be accompanied by one of the game’s GOATs on the upcoming project.
According to Rock the Bells, the artist formerly known as Tity Boi will be dropping a new collaborative album this coming November with none other than Lil Wayne as the two will be reuniting to release COLLEGROVE 2. It’s about damn time! Their original COLLEGROVE LP released in 2016 and was praised by fans as a work of Southern art. Now the two have carved out some time to get a sequel done, and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for us.
Revealing the project while filming on a closed set for Rock the Bells, 2 Chainz stunned everyone in attendance with the surprising news that the album will release Nov. 2
Rock The Bells reports:
“Me and Wayne’s album drops next month,” he announced. “This is a full circle moment.”
Before performing the 2007 Playaz Circle classic, “Duffle Bag Boy,” which prominently features Wayne on the hook, 2 Chainz explained the importance of relationships. “It was built on a relationship,” he said. “Wayne at the time, was the hottest artist in the world. He could’ve charged me eight million, but he didn’t.”
COLLEGROVE 2, which has been teased since 2020, is the follow-up to 2 Chainz and Wayne’s 2016 unofficial collaboration, COLLEGROVE.
“We have two videos shot, photoshoot shot, (the) album’s mixed and getting mastered, so it’ll be coming sooner than later, and I’m really excited about it,” 2 Chainz said while promoting the new season of Amazon Music Live back in September. “It’s rapping at a high level — steel sharpens steel. And he’s one of the people that I enjoy working with the most.”
Y’all know that joint is going to get streamed like a MF come Nov. 2.
While we’d expect some surprise cameos from some of their Hip-Hop peers, we have little to no information to work with at the current time. Who knows, it could be an album with just them too laying it down for a couple of tracks. Either way we’re not complaining.
What do y’all think of 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne linking up for COLLEGROVE 2? Let us know in the comments section below.

Starz’s latest hit drama, BMF, shows no signs of slowing up and continues adding big names to its still-growing cast of stars.
We have no idea how long the story of the legendary Flenory brothers will continue in BMF, but it still has legs. Starz has announced that Grammy award-winning artists 2 Chainz and Ne-Yo will join the cast in recurring roles when season 3 arrives.
The two musicians join the likes of Eminem, Serayah, Caresha “Yung Miami” Brownlee, and Snoop Dogg, who have all graced television screens on the gritty Starz drama.
Per Variety:
2 Chainz will play Stacks, an Atlanta-born distributor whose wisdom and stature command respect wherever he goes. “Fiercely loyal and determined to provide for his family no matter the cost, Stacks lives by the street code and challenges Meech’s leadership style,” as Starz describes him.
BMF’s Story So Far
For those who haven’t had the opportunity to watch the latest show in 50 Cent’s drug-dealing cinematic universe, he is building on his on-again-and-off-again partner network Starz; it retells the story of how Big Meech” Flenory (Demetrius Flenory, Jr.) and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory (Da’Vinchi) took over the Detroit streets in the 80s and built their Black Mafia Family from the ground up.
Season two follows the brothers who have split, with Meech looking to expand his drug dealing empire and his brother Terry looking to go legit by focusing more on school and running a car-ride service with his father Charles (Russell Hornsby).
Terry gets sucked back into the drug game, reluctantly linking back up with Meech when things on the streets get hectic.
We can’t wait to see how 2 Chainz and Ne-Yo fit in on the show.
