2 Chainz will be helping Amazon Music launch their show Amazon Music Live — a brand new concert-interview series set to premiere later this month.

The show, which is due to be released on October 27, will feature performances and interviews with some of music’s biggest stars airing after Thursday Night Football on Prime Video. The first guest on the show will be Lil Baby, who will perform songs from his new album, It’s Only Me, and sit with 2 Chainz for a conversation.

Megan Thee Stallion and country music star Kane Brown will be the next two guests following Baby on November 3.

“Every Thursday night, I’m bringing the biggest and the brightest stars in music to the Amazon Music Live stage in Los Angeles,” said 2 Chainz. “We have the people that are influencing the culture and have carved their own unique path in music, like Lil Baby, Megan Thee Stallion, and Kane Brown. Amazon Music Live is the only place to be for the official Thursday turn up!”

Kirdis Postelle, global head of artist marketing of Amazon Music, added: “Whether you’re a sports fan waiting for the first football game of the week, or a music fan staying up late to hear the latest drop from your favorite artist, Thursday is the biggest night for entertainment.

Amazon Music has been swinging for the fences to incorporate Hip Hop acts on its platform. On Tuesday (October 8), Amazon Music announced it will be live streaming Kendrick Lamar’s The Big Steppers tour when it touches down in Paris, France, this weekend.

The pgLang rapper will perform at the Accor Arena in Paris as part of the massive 65-date world tour that kicked off in June to promote his fifth studio album, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, which dropped in May and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Fans will be able to watch the live stream for free exclusively on Prime Video, the Amazon Music channel on Twitch and on the Amazon Music app in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

It will also include the tour’s opening acts, pgLang artists Tanna Leone and Baby Keem, with a repeat of the performance becoming available to view on-demand on Prime Video after the livestream event.

Meanwhile, 2 Chainz recently dropped off “2 Step,” a new song that soundtracks the trailer for the forthcoming House Party remake.

The revamp of the 1990 comedy film was announced back in 2018, with LeBron James and Maverick Carter being pegged as producers.

50 Cent believes that, despite all of his accolades, Eminem doesn’t get enough credit for his true impact on Hip Hop culture and its global reach.

On Tuesday (October 18), Fif stopped by Ebro In The Morning to talk about his latest TV project Hip-Hop Homicides and explain why he believes it only seems like the rap game is more violent now.

“The violence has always been in those communities,” he said. “It’s just now, the visibility of it is there and it connects to Hip Hop culture. Because look, we the fastest growing genre of music. You can’t miss us.”

That’s when he started talking about Eminem, who celebrated his 50th birthday yesterday (October 17), explaining that the Detroit legend made Hip Hop accessible to more people, thus helping the genre and culture reach new heights.

“I don’t think that they give Em the credit that he deserves,” he explained. “Because, in order for people to embrace something, they have to see where they fit in.”

He continued: “I think part of Eminem’s legacy is the growth of our culture. People wouldn’t buy it if they didn’t see where they fit into it. And he’s there and he’s a legitimate artist because of his journey. When you’re look at 8 Mile, you’re seeing a Black story with a white lead. You seeing poverty, you’re seeing [similar] circumstances. Look at his friends Proof and D-12 and everybody: these are real Hip Hop guys. Which is why he’s a real Hip Hop guy.”

The rapper turned TV mogul added that Eminem’s positioning as an Aftermath signee removed what could have been the one barrier to his success.

“Who would be upset when a white guy comes in and is selling the most records in Hip Hop culture, and is still, to this day, the highest selling artist in Hip Hop?,” he asked rhetorically. “N.W.A., maybe N-ggas With Attitudes would be upset. So Jimmy [Iovine]’s a genius for putting him with Dre.”

The G-Unit boss was one of several celebrities who took time to shout out Slim Shady on his birthday. Fellow Motor City MC Royce Da 5’9″ also took to Instagram to wish his Bad Meets Evil partner-in-rhyme a happy birthday — in typically comical fashion.

“Next Week on SNL!” he joked while sharing a black-and-white portrait of Slim Shady. “Nah.. Just kidding [crying face emojis] Happy Birthday to the [G.O.A.T.] @eminem Love you, Sunny Jim.”

Public Enemy’s Chuck D, who Eminem has hailed as one of his Hip Hop heroes, also joined the chorus of birthday celebrations, as did the Detroit Lions.

Hip-Hop Homicides is slated to premiere on AMC Network’s We TV on November 3 at 9 p.m. ET, with Mona Scott-Young joining 50 as the show’s producer and journalist/podcaster Van Lathan will host the series. The investigative series will take a deep dive into the untimely deaths of rap stars like XXXTENTACION, King Von, Chinx and Soulja Slim, among others.

It’s one of three new content projects coming from the Power creator this fall. The podcast Surviving El Chapo: The Twins Who Brought Down a Drug Lord arrives Wednesday (October 19) on the iHeartRadio app and all other platforms; while The BMF Documentary: Blowing Money Fast, premieres on STARZ on Sunday (October 23).

Anderson .Paak and Knxwledge have announced that their duo NxWorries is returning with new music later this week.

The pair haven’t dropped a project since their debut full-length Yes Lawd! in 2016, but Paak announced they would be reuniting for a new single featuring H.E.R. titled “Where I Go.”

The Oxnard crooner unveiled a teaser video on YouTube on Monday (October 17), with the full version set to drop on Wednesday (October 19).

Both parties have been incredibly busy since parting ways in 2016. Anderson .Paak has released numerous solo albums and linked with Bruno Mars for their Grammy-winning group Silk Sonic. The pair dropped their debut An Evening with Silk Sonic back in 2021, and won four Grammy awards, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

As for Knxwledge, he’s been spending the years producing for many rap heavyweights including Mach-Hommy, Earl Sweatshirt, Action Bronson, Westside Gunn and others.

While Anderson .Paak has been enjoying his time in Silk Sonic, the duo announced in a statement to Rolling Stone last week that they would bow out of submitting their debut album for consideration at the 2023 Grammy awards.

“We truly put our all on this record, but Silk Sonic would like to gracefully, humbly and most importantly, sexually, bow out of submitting our album this year,” Mars wrote.

“Vans was super patient with me on this one,” he said in a statement. “We met every week in Malibu and designed these shoes in the California sunshine. This is my best drop yet and I’m so proud of what we’ve come up with.”

SZA’s long-anticipated sophomore album might finally be on the way, with the TDE singer revealing she recorded a mammoth amount of new music for the upcoming LP.

TMZ caught up with SZA traveling through LAX over the weekend on the West Coast, where she revealed she’s recorded over 100 songs for the follow-up to her acclaimed 2017 LP Ctrl, which she has said should arrive very soon.

“Total? A hundred, maybe? Like, I don’t even know, actually,” she estimated on the amount of tracks she has in the stash. “Five years worth of material.”

When pressed about a potential release date, SZA remained tight-lipped on specifics but did let out that it should be released “any day” now.

Even outside of the studio, the 32-year-old has been busy with her first feature film role. She’s set to star in a movie titled Tuna Melt alongside the blockbuster’s writer/director Eddie Huang and Euphoria star Chloe Cherry.

SZA will play the love interest of Huang, a hitman who unexpectedly meets the love of his life in the aftermath of a breakup, soon after carrying out a job.

The singer made her acting debut in the fourth season of HBO’s Insecure in 2020, appearing in the true crime show-in-show ‘Looking for LaToya.’ Her appearance in the series came just three years after contributing a song called “Quicksand” to the season two soundtrack.

Although SZA pointed the finger at Top Dawg Entertainment executive Terrence “Punch” Henderson for her album being delayed, Punch said they’re back on the same page and teased the release of her LP in August.

“It’s not really a secret. SZA’s coming very, very soon. We pretty much have the album done…We know exactly when it’s coming out,” he said. “But on the internet, you only get a certain amount of characters. You don’t have time to really go into a full explanation of what’s going on like that when you’re in the moment and tweeting something.”

Kid Cudi has been given a lot of titles by his fans throughout his career, but there’s one he doesn’t agree with, and that’s being a genius.

Cudi took to his Twitter on Tuesday (October 18) with a tweet claiming he won’t be accepting any genius titles that his fans have thrown at him. According to Cudi, it makes him feel a bit “arrogant,” and that’s just not who he is as a person.

“Hey guys!! I wont RT if u call me a genius im sorry,” he wrote. “I dont think im worthy of that praise and its a lil weird for me to RT it. I know ive got a gift, but callin myself a ‘genius’ or agreeing w it comes off a lil arrogent to me. And thats not me. I love and appreciate you.”

Cudder had turned off the comments so there wouldn’t be any back-and-forth from fans but continued to shine a light on his new Netflix animated series Entergalatic which caused all the “genius” talk.

He also shouted out film director Matthew Cherry, who continued to uplift and push him towards his creation goals.

“I wanna say one thing: Matthew Cherry knew I could lead a project years ago and he even looks out for me,” Cudi said. “Find the solid people in the business that are good folks that believe in u and lift u up.”

Entergalatic was released on September 30 and has been a hit with fans. The series also came with an accompanying soundtrack. According to a recent conversation with Zane Lowe, the album could very well be Kid Cudi’s last musical effort.

“The Kid Cudi stuff, I think I want to put it on the back burner and chill out with that,” he said. “I think, I want to be done with it. I think, closing the chapter on Kid Cudi.”

He continued: “I’ve said a lot and I have other desires, I have other things I want to do. And I do not see me never making music, I’ll always fuck around in the studio, or make something here and there. But, as far as getting in the studio and working on an album, and then going and touring it, I just don’t have it in me. I don’t have the desire.

“I have so many other things I want to invest my time into… I really want to spend more time with my daughter. You know what I’m saying? We’ve been kicking it a lot lately and I’ve been having more time and it’s good, she’s growing up, our relationship is super tight. It’s what I always dreamed of.”

DJ Akademiks has threatened to take his ongoing feud with Lil Baby to the courtroom, should the rapper end up in legal trouble with authorities in Atlanta.

While streaming to his Twitch channel on Friday (October 14), Akademiks said that he would not only be willing to testify against Baby in court if the rapper wound up indicted, but that he would show up with evidence.

“Real talk, I’m showing up to the court with a Walkman,” he says in a clip from his Twitch stream. “That n-gga said ‘Akademik could get touched,’ I’m in fear for my life. Judge, you know what to do. Bond denied.”

The controversial social media personality then played a soundbite in which Lil Baby is seemingly being asked about his issues with Akademiks. At that point, the conversation shifted from Ak’s willingness to testify, to his potentially alerting authorities to the threats he believes are being made against him.

“You’re scared of Fani Willis,” he said, referring to the Fulton County District Attorney behind YFN Lucci‘s arrest and the YSL Racketeering Influenced & Corrupt Organization (RICO) indictment under which Young Thug and Gunna are being held. “Don’t make me Charleston White you n-ggas. Fani this is enough to get a warrant. Grab them computers and them iPhones he got.”

The comments come just days after Akademiks alerted fans to the fact that he was mentioned on two songs on Lil Baby’s latest album, It’s Only Me, which was released Friday (October 14). The lines Ak referred to in this latest Twitch stream were taken from the track “Top Priority,” which includes the line” “Akademik’s n-ggas think they can’t get touch.”

The idea that the Fulton County DA’s office might have its sights on Baby and his 4PF crew started circulating in July. At the time Willis, who was less than two months removed from the sweeping 88-count indictment that led to Thug and Gunna’s arrest, revealed that two more high-profile RICO arrests would be made in the “next 60 days”.

At the time, Akademiks added fuel to the fire by suggesting Baby was in Willis’ crosshairs in a recent livestream, a claim he later admitted was simply speculative.

As promised, Willis did hand down another large indictment just a month later, bringing charges against 26 suspected members of Drug Rich Gang. According to the 220-count indictment, the gang targeted celebrities such as Mariah Carey, Atlanta Falcons star Calvin Ridley and Future’s baby mother, Brittni Mealy. They allegedly monitored their victims’ social media accounts to scope out items and plan heists.

She added: “I’m going to continue to do that, people can continue to be angry about it. I have some legal advice: don’t confess to crimes on rap lyrics if you do not want them used — or at least get out of my county.”
