Vivica A. Fox Tells Joe Budden To ‘Sit His B***h A** Down’ & Stop Being A Hater
On the heels of Joe Budden speaking on Megan Thee Stallion, Vivica A. Fox is chiming in to check the podcast host!
As The Shade Room previously reported, Joe recently threw shade at the “Pressurelicious” rapper during an episode of The Joe Budden Podcast.
While discussing the ongoing Megan Thee Stallion assault trial, Joe notably declared that he’s “seen [Megan] do horrible things to some really great people” in the industry.
“I stand in my dislike…Personally, I’ve seen this woman do horrible things to some really great people that I have longstanding relationships with in this industry, so I’m biased. You can’t just treat my friends and people I f**k with and people I’ve seen in this game for 15 years a certain way.”
In spite of this statement, though, Joe clarified that he didn’t know Megan personally. He also added that he was speaking on her business decisions and acknowledged that the rapper “could be amazing.”
“I’m talking about her and what she’s chosen to do professionally. I wanna be clear, I don’t know her as a person. She could be amazing. But there’s a lot to deal with when you sign, and a lot happens fast.”

In response to Joe’s comments, Vivica A. Fox shared quite a scathing message!
The Set It Off actress addressed the matter during an episode of Cocktails with Queens on FOX Soul. As the co-hosts discussed Joe’s commentary, Vivica directed a message at Joe and outright told him to “sit [his] b***h a** down.”
“Joe Budden, if you don’t button it up and sit yo’ b***h a** down [and stop] hating on that girl.”
She went on accuse him of being salty about how successful many female rappers are in this day and age.
“Y’all mad cause girls right now is ruling rap. It’s just driving y’all crazy that the sistas is just ruling and taking numbers and can tell y’all ’bout yourself and look sexy widdit. It’s a new day!”
Briefly going back to the subject of the trial, Vivica told Joe to watch himself while speaking on Megan at this time.
“But if you wanted some attention, to be honest with you, I think that’s the wrong one to try and get it from. Because it’s really coming out. Facts are finally coming out after so many years of this trial being long awaited that she was, in fact, shot.”
Vivica wrapped up her statements by saying, “Get used to it, brotha. It’s a new day. Girls are ruling. Sorry, Joe Budden!”

While Joe hasn’t explicitly addressed Vivica, he made a simple tweet shortly thereafter that seemed to brush the commentary off.

Rappers Rinne, Kubota Kai & Anatsume Featured in Billboard Japan & TikTok’s ‘Next Fire’ December Edition
The December edition of Billboard Japan and TikTok’s hybrid program Next Fire featured a fresh roster of Rooftop artists including Anatsume, Kubota Kai, and award-winning rapper Rinne.
Next Fire is a show on TikTok Live that highlights the rising J-pop artists of the moment, based on Billboard Japan’s TikTok Weekly Top 20 chart. The collaborative project streams live performances and pre-recorded interviews by the featured act of the month to give fans an in-depth look at their artistry.
Rising rapper Anatsume was the first to appear in the studio decorated with a Christmas tree and lights for the December mini-festival. He kicked off his three-song set with “Stay True,” a song with lyrics that touch on the theme of determination expressed through the young rapper’s gentle voice over an airy sound. Next, he brought out a special guest, the vocalist Ai from the all-female band Haku, for a performance of the collaborative track “Aoi tobari” that features the band. “This song is about a precious time in your life and your youth,” said Anatsume before the male-female vocals depicted a wistful, sentimental scene that tugged at viewers’ heartstrings.
The 19-year-old artist closed his showcase set with “Tokyo no Fuyu” (Winter in Tokyo), a song based on the ABEMA romantic reality show he appeared in called Koisuru Weekend Homestay 2020 Winter Tokyo. “The next will be my last song,” he said, introducing the number. “It’s a really valuable song for me because it let me meet a lot of people. I wrote it for the person I was in love with when I was in high school.” The warm, genuine lyrics and the feel-good groove got the audience swaying naturally.

Next up was Kubota Kai, who took over the stage and immediately launched into the up-tempo and funky “Midnight Dancing.” The young artist hyped up the audience with his speedy rapping over the powerful groove from his backing guitar and keyboards, while drawing them in with his boisterous stage presence. Kubota — his name is stylized in Japanese order, surname first — then slowed things down a bit with a performance of “Seikatsu,” accompanying himself on an acoustic guitar. As the title suggests, the lyrics depict the minutiae of daily life over a gentle track. Kubota finished his set with his hit song “Piasu” (Pierced Earrings) that charted on the TikTok Weekly Top 20 for four weeks in a row. Many viewers seemed familiar with this song that showcases Kubota’s versatile vocal techniques, and the speed of the comments being sent in visibly increased during the performance.

Last but not least on the roster was rapper Rinne, who kicked off his set with “heaven town.” The Japan Record Awards New Artist winner for 2020 then segued into “Blue Diary,” performing twosongs off his latest album cloud achoo back-to-back. The melodious chorus exuding emotion in its tranquility left a lasting impression.
The 24-year-old then took a moment to introduce himself and his backing DJ, ShunMaruno, and addressed the audience watching the livestream. “I first came across the incredible culture of hip-hop and rap through my cell phone, kind of like today’s TikTok. I’m sure you’ll also find your own thing through such means someday,” he said. “My buddies from the same agency are here today. We’ve made a lot of history together, and I’m looking forward to performing with them tonight.”
Rinne first invited Kubota Kai back into the studio. “‘Kubokai’ and I have been friends for a long time,” he shared about his label mate. “Ever since we first met at a freestyle rap battle, the timing for everything we do has been the same, like our first concerts and the like.” The two rappers performed “Haru ni furarete” (Dumped in Spring), a collaborative track released last year featuring catchy rap phrases that highlight the differences in their styles and a chorus that displays the chemistry of their voices.
Then Rinne brought back Anatsume for a performance of “raspberry,” also a collaboration from last year. The bright and cheerful beat featuring brass and other instruments filled the studio with a cheery vibe.
Before the next song, Rinne paused again to encourage fans. “Four or five years ago, I was the one doing the chasing, but now I have a junior colleague like Anatsume and a friend like Kubokai. My old dreams are coming true little by little,” he said. “But what led to my current position was just a tiny opportunity that was lying right at my feet. So if you’re a younger person watching TikTok now, or someone my age, or even someone older, I think it’d be a waste to give up on your dreams too soon. The reason why I say this is because many of my own dreams have come true, partly by luck and partly by coincidence. Like recently, I was asked to write theme song for a TV drama series. It’s a dream that came true thanks to everyone’s support. I was so moved when I was offered the opportunity.”
He then performed the theme he wrote for the NTV drama series Sister, entitled “qualia.” The lyrics, which he said he made a little easier to listen to while retaining the emotional weight of the suspenseful drama depicting a messy love triangle, was delivered over a melodious track.
The last number of the evening was Rinne’s biggest hit to date, “snow jam” from 2020. “I met so many people through this song and I’m still singing it like this. I hope this winter becomes a wonderful one for you all,” he said before performing the smash hit, which struck a chord with students during the early days of the pandemic. Viewers shared their excitement in hearing the live version of the number perfect for winter, featuring a chill vibe that makes you want to lose yourself in the laid-back flow of sound.

Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley & More Set For George Jones ‘Still Playin’ Possum’ All-Star Celebration
Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, Lorrie Morgan, Tanya Tucker and more are set to honor the life and career of late country music artist George Jones, with a one-night-only concert event and television taping, Still Playin’ Possum: Music and Memories of George Jones slated for April 25, 2023 at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama. Jones, one of country music’s most influential vocalists, died nearly a decade ago, on April 26, 2013 in Nashville, Tenn. at age 81.
The television taping, announced by Jones’ widow Nancy Jones, will also feature Jamey Johnson, Justin Moore, Mark Chesnutt, Michael Ray, Sam Moore, Trace Adkins, Tracy Byrd and Tracy Lawrence among the first round of announced special guests.
“George Jones died on April 26, 2013, in Nashville, Tennessee. It will be ten years since he left us with just his songs, so to produce this night of music to honor his legacy is perfectly fitting,” Nancy Jones said via a statement. “George made history and influenced artists from all genres and many of them will celebrate with us in April. The night will bring lots of emotion for the fans, our family, and anyone who just loved country music.”
Ticket prices will start at $25.00 and a special VIP upgrade, which includes dinner the night before with Nancy Jones and friends, for $200.
Country Music Hall of Fame member Jones was born in Saratoga, Texas. He served in the United States Marine Corps before returning to Texas and recording for the Starday label. He earned his first Billboard country hit, “Why Baby Why,” in 1955. He followed with his first No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart in 1959, with the Mercury Records single “White Lightning,” which stayed at No. 1 for five weeks. He would go on to record for labels including United Artists, Musicor, Epic, MCA, Asylum and Bandit Records, and would earn a lengthy list of enduring hits, including “He Stopped Loving Her Today,” “The Grand Tour,” “Bartender’s Blues,” “She Thinks I Still Care,” “A Good Year for the Roses,” “The Race is On,” and “Tender Years,” as well as a string of hit duets with Tammy Wynette, including “We’re Gonna Hold On” and “Golden Ring.”
“He Stopped Loving Her Today,” which Jones released in 1980, won the CMA Award for single of the year, while helping Jones win the top male vocalist award in 1980 and 1981. He also earned a Grammy award for best country vocal performance, male. Over the course of his career, Jones earned two Grammy wins (also earning a best male country vocal performance accolade for “Choices”) and 16 nominations. Jones was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1992.
Trey Songz Turns Himself In Over NYC Bowling Alley Assault Case

Trey Songz has reportedly turned himself over to authorities in relation to his alleged role in an assault in New York City at a bowling alley.
According to reports, the “Can’t Help But Wait” singer had voluntarily turned himself over to the New York Police Department at the end of November. Trey Songz, aka Tremaine Neverson, was booked and received a desk appearance ticket for a later date before being released.
The singer is accused of aggressively attacking a woman in the bathroom of a bowling alley in the city back in October. The woman, who is unidentified, claims Songz punched her in the face repeatedly and dragged her by the hair. A motive for the assault hasn’t been detailed. There were more details disclosed afterward, where Songz allegedly also attacked another man who claimed that the artist punched him in the eye. He refused medical attention at the scene.
When contacted for further information, Trey’s attorney Mitch Shuster replied: “We have been proactively communicating with NY law enforcement, the DA, and all those involved. While we will respectfully and proactively work through all the appropriate channels we are confident that Trey will be fully cleared of any wrongdoing.”
This latest development represents another stretch of trouble for Trey Songz, who recently avoided having to stand trial after being accused of raping a woman back in 2016. The unidentified woman, who went by Jane Doe in the filing, was previously in a consensual relationship with the singer before the incident took place. She was also suing for $20 million in damages. The case, which was in California, was dismissed by a judge after reaching the statute of limitations. He had also been accused of sexually assaulting a woman in 2013 at the Foxwoods Casino & Resort in Connecticut, which was allegedly caught on video.
Tekashi “Irony” 6ix9ine & Wack 100 Say Gunna Is Indeed A Snitch

Gunna is officially a free man but unfortunately for him it came with a great price, being labeled a snitch out on these Hip-Hop streets.
While Hip-Hop’s most infamous snitch ever, Tekashi 6ix9ine proudly wears his “Henry Hill” badge on his chest, Gunna’s lawyer is denying his client is anywhere near the same vicinity as the “Gummo” rapper. But 6ix9ine and Wack 100 disagree and are taking Gunna to task for “tattle telling” on his YSL family.
According to TMZ, DJ Akademiks got the ball rolling by DMing Gunna’s lawyer, Steven Sadow and asking him to clarify his position that Gunna isn’t a snitch. Sadow explained that Gunna’s plea deal wouldn’t affect anyone other than Gunna himself and that “Out of court statements at a plea hearing cannot come into evidence against someone else.”
The night before, Akademiks chopped it up with OG snitch Tekashi 6ix9ine who went in on Gunna and had no problem calling him a rat. He even said that Gunna looks “worse” than he did dropping dimes as he feels that Gunna turned on the people “who put him on. This is a n*gga who really put him under his wing. So there’s no reasoning to plea out. You woulda been more gangsta holding it down till ya man copped out or your man figured it out cause you wasn’t fighting no real charges.”
Even Wack 100 weighed in on the subject and he too questioned Gunna’s street standings after taking the plea writing “@akademiks Stop bro … His statements were clearly on the RECORD … And the whole “DEFENSE” was #YSL IS NOT I REPEAT IS NOT A GANG JUST A RECORD LABEL… YOU HIM OR THEM CANT REWRITE THE LAWS OF #SNITCHING. CO-OPERATION WITH THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY MAKES U A CO OPERANT WHICH EQUALS #Telling.”
Though Tekashi blatantly took the stand against his former crew and directly pointed fingers at them on multiple crimes in exchange for his own personal freedom, we still don’t know exactly how Gunna’s plea deal and cooperation with authorities will affect his YSL family. What if Young Thug is set free under similar conditions? Would he be considered a rat? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Sitting down with Kelly Clarkson a few weeks ago, Parton talked about how the song, written and recorded for the 2015 opening of her Dollywood DreamMore resort, has driven her crazy for years. “You have no idea how that has bothered me,” the “Jolene” singer told Clarkson on Dec. 1. “I wanna go dig that up so bad. It’s a really good song!”
“I don’t know whose damn idea that was,” she joked. “They weren’t expecting me to be there at all, and I probably won’t be. I might be there, who knows. I figure it’ll probably disintegrate and nobody will ever hear it, that’s what bothers me. If it rots in there before they open it.”
Parton first announced the song’s existence in her 2020 book Songteller: My Life in Lyrics, revealing that it will come to light when her theme park staff opens up the time capsule on the resort’s 30th anniversary in 2045 — meaning, she will be 99 years old when people finally hear it. The “Jolene” singer wrote that putting the mysterious track in the capsule felt “like burying one of my kids, putting it on ice or something, and I won’t be around to see it brought back to life.”
“It’s just burning me up inside that I have to leave it in there,” she added at the time.
The 10-time Grammy winner’s Kelly Clarkson Show appearance also featured a surprise live performance of “9 to 5,” sung as a duet with Clarkson after the two recorded a new version of the 1980 hit for the movie Still Working 9 to 5. During the show, Parton also opened up about the very first time she ever heard Whitney Houston’s iconic cover of her classic hit “I Will Always Love You.”
“I was just driving along, and I had the radio on,” Dolly recalled. “It’s one of those things, it was like a dog hearing a whistle. ‘What is that?’ That’s the first time — they hadn’t sent it to me or nothing. When it went into, ‘And I …,’ I just freaked out.”
“I had to pull over to the side, because I honestly thought I was going to wreck,” she added. “It was the most overwhelming feeling, and you know how great that was.”

Several Indigenous Groups Call For Boycott of James Cameron’s “Blue Trash,” ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’

James Cameron’s latest visual spectacle, Avatar: The Way of Water, is not sitting well with everyone.
Several groups of Native Americans are calling for a boycott of Avatar: The Way of Water, the sequel to Cameron’s 2009 box office blockbuster Avatar.
The protest is a direct result of some resurfaced comments from Cameron. The legendary movie director is a well-known environmentalist and, in 2010, spoke about campaigning against the building of the Belo Monte hydroelectric dam in the Amazon. He also mentioned how after learning from indigenous tribes, he was inspired to write Avatar.
“I felt like I was 130 years back in time watching what the Lakota Sioux might have been saying at a point when they were being pushed, and they were being killed, and they were being asked to displace, and they were being given some form of compensation,” Cameron said in a resurfaced interview The Guardian.
Cameron continued, “This was a driving force for me in the writing of Avatar — I couldn’t help but think that if they [the Lakota Sioux] had had a time-window and they could see the future … and they could see their kids committing suicide at the highest suicide rates in the nation … because they were hopeless and they were a dead-end society — which is what is happening now — they would have fought a lot harder.”
Indigenous Groups Are Not Here For James Cameron & His Blue Trash
His comments did not fly with members of several indigenous groups, and they have accused him of pushing a white savior complex.
Yuè Begay, an indigenous leader, felt insulted by the Titanic director’s comments and called for a boycott of the highly-anticipated sequel.
Joanna Brewer, a Smith College professor, is calling on people to protest the film. “James Cameron apparently made Avatar to inspire all my dead ancestors to “fight harder.” Eff right off with that savior complex, bud. And everyone, please go watch a real native movie instead of that badly appropriated blue trash,” Brewer said in a tweet.
The call for the boycott comes after Avatar: The Way of Water already made a big splash in theaters since its release bringing in $435 million globally this past weekend.
The groups have offered alternatives moviegoers can watch if they want to see films influenced by Native American culture.
James Cameron has yet to speak or issue a statement on the matter.

Pusha T Says He’s No Longer President of Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music
Pusha T seems to be cutting all ties with Kanye West.
The Virginia rapper revealed in an interview with XXL, published on Monday (Dec. 19), that he is no longer president of Ye’s G.O.O.D. Music Inc. imprint with Def Jam. Pusha had served in the leadership role since 2015.
“At the end of the day, s— is being said today that’s beyond disappointing,” Pusha said of Ye’s ongoing antisemitic remarks. The former Clipse rapper — who worked with Ye on his 2022 album, It’s Almost Dry, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 — told XXL that he will continue releasing music through Def Jam and his own label.
This isn’t the first time Pusha has spoken out against Ye, who has been spreading hate speech against Jewish people on social media and during interviews in recent months. “It’s definitely affected me. It’s been disappointing,” Pusha told the Los Angeles Times in late November. “As a Black man in America, there is no room for bigotry or hate speech. So yeah. It’s been very disappointing.”
After receiving backlash for wearing a “White Lives Matter” T-shirt in early October at Paris Fashion Week, Ye tweeted that he was going to go “death con 3” on Jewish people on Oct. 16. This began a string of hate-speech-filled interviews, which reached an even more disturbing level when he appeared on Alex Jones’ InfoWars and said “I see good things about Hitler,” among other hateful rhetoric.
Pusha, whose history with Ye dates back to 2010, told XXL that he and his former collaborator are no longer on speaking terms.
“If you ain’t with it, you ain’t down,” the rapper said. “And I ain’t with it. I’m not budging on that. I’m not with it. I heard about this new stuff [on InfoWars]. I don’t know. It’s something that just sort of tells me he’s not well, at the same time. I will say that. It’s going to places where it’s no way to move around it.”
