“The two boys married somebody who, they’re actresses, they’re out there, everyone knows them. And I feel like I’m Danielle, and it’s hard,” she explained to the podcast’s hosts Keltie Knight, Jac Vanek and Becca Tobin, before telling Kevin, “It’s also that I’m out there celebrity-wise because I’ve married you.”

She continued, “And that’s where it’s like, ‘Oh, I wanna have something else to my name too.’ So that it feels … I don’t know, more than or like the other girls. ‘Cause then when I’m with the other girls, I feel just less than sometimes. It’s weird.”

Kevin was quick to assure his wife that he feels the same around his younger brothers. “I feel the same way with Nick and Joe, right? Like solo careers, movies, all this stuff. It’s like everyone has to find their place,” he said, “No matter the situation, right?”

36-year-old Danielle and the 35-year-old Jonas Brothers singer first met on a vacation in the Bahamas back in 2007. They tied the knot two years later at Oheka Castle in Long Island, NY, and have been going strong ever since. The longtime couple share two daughters: nine-year-old Alena and six-year-old Valentina.

Beyoncé Leaves Pittsburgh Mayor ‘Deeply Disappointed’ After Renaissance Tour Cancellation

Pittsburgh has a problem. The entire world is clamoring for a glimpse of Beyoncé’s eye-popping Renaissance World Tour, including the mayor of Steel City.

In a statement posted to social media this week, Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey wrote that he was “deeply disappointed” that Beyoncé made the difficult decision to cancel the tour’s stop in his city.

“We were fully prepared to welcome [Beyoncé] to Pittsburgh and honor her with an official day recognizing her visit and accomplishments,” wrote Mayor Gainey. “We are in conversations with the promoter for the event in order to gain an understanding about what led to the cancellation, and if there is anything we can do as a city to find a new date or location for her show.”

On Wednesday, Pittsburgh’s Acrisure Stadium revealed that Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour would not be visiting the venue, citing “production logistics and scheduling issues.” Two other shows — Seattle and Kansas City, Missouri — were rescheduled for the same reasons. With a tour featuring a flying disco horse, giant robotic arms and a life-size tank, Beyoncé’s latest worldwide trek is massive in scale.

Between Queen Bey’s Renaissance Tour and Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, politicians can’t stop themselves from weighing in on the schedules for the year’s most talked-about concerts. Just this week, Swift received personal messages to add more stops to her tour from Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Thai PM candidate Pita Limjaroenrat.

‘Fast Car,’ Slow Turnover: Luke Combs’ Hit Is Fifth Straight Multi-Week Country Airplay No. 1

Luke Combs’ cover of Tracy Chapman’s 1988 pop hit “Fast Car” tops Billboard’s Country Airplay chart (dated July 15) for a second week. In the tracking week ending July 6, the song increased by 1% to 33.6 million audience impressions, according to Luminate.

Combs claims his 12th Country Airplay No. 1 to dominate for more than a week, among his 16 leaders.

Plus, for the first time in almost 10 years, five consecutive Country Airplay chart-toppers rule for multiple weeks. The run started with Morgan Wallen’s “Thought You Should Know,” which led for its first of three weeks on the Feb. 25-dated chart, and continued with Combs’ Going, Going, Gone” (two, March 18), Bailey Zimmerman’s “Rock and a Hard Place” (six, April 1), Wallen’s “Last Night” (eight, May 13) and now “Fast Car.”

The last quintuplet of consecutive multi-week Country Airplay leaders occurred in August-October 2013, encompassing five two-week No. 1s each: Randy Houser’s “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight,” Brett Eldredge’s “Don’t Ya,” Keith Urban’s “Little Bit of Everything,” Florida Georgia Line’s “Round Here” and Jason Aldean’s “Night Train.”

“I think we have a couple things happening,” KBAY San Jose, Calif., program director Bo Matthews tells Billboard about the current streak by Combs and Wallen – who have four of the last five Country Airplay No. 1s – and Zimmerman. “The pop music cycle is not strong currently, and clearly country music is the winner. Consumption is higher with country music, and programmers are being smart, playing what their listeners want and embracing new country stars. What a great time to be in country music. We have the rock stars right now.”

“Country music is in such a good place right now,” echoes Cumulus Media vp of programming Charlie Cook. “The passion for the music is high and with tour season in full swing, fans are connecting with the acts and loving the music. Those one-week No. 1s are often [heavily driven by label promotion]. I like seeing songs finding their way to the top of the chart and settling in for more than one week.”

Is it a wrap for Keke Palmer and her baby daddy Darius Jackson? Based on his recent actions on social media, some assume that to be the case.

After Black Twitter, Instagram, Spill, Facebook, and Threads formed like Voltron to drag Darius Jackson for making a private matter between himself and the mother of his child, Keke Palmer, public, he shut down his socials.

Spotted on Page Six, Jackson, a 29-year-old fitness instructor and brother of actor Sarunas Jackson, ended his brief social media hiatus, and folks couldn’t help but notice that he scrubbed his Instagram profile of any photos of Keke Palmer, only leaving pictures of his son.

According to today’s dating standards, deleting or archiving photos of your significant other from your social media accounts is usually a sign of a breakup.

In his post announcing his return, Jackson wrote, “Y’all thought” in a quote retweet response to a Pop Crave tweet reporting on him shutting down his account.

This entire situation stemmed from Jackson being big mad about Keke Palmer’s attire in a video of her being serenaded by Usher during his insanely popular Las Vegas residency show. The 29-year-old actress wore a sheer dress, showing her cakes, and Jackson was not happy about writing in a viral response, “It’s the outfit tho.. you a mom.”

He doubled down on his criticism, writing, “We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is.”

“This is my family & my representation. I have standards & morals to what I believe,” adding, “I rest my case.”

Keke Palmer Doubles Down On Showing Off Her Cakes

While not directly addressing her daddy’s online shenanigans, she also seemed to double down on baring her baby-enhanced booty in her sheer dress.

“I wish I had taken more pictures but we were running late! ” she wrote in the caption for her Instagram post.

We hear you, Ms. Palmer. We hope things get back on track for the sake of their son or at least amicable.

Charlamagne Tha God just paid Cardi B one of the biggest compliments of her career. He says she shifted the culture just like JAY-Z and Drake.

As spotted on Blavity media personality paid a visit to the It’s Up There podcast and discussed the current state of the Rap industry and more. During the conversation he discussed the female MC landscape and made sure to give Bardi an abundance of flowers. “Salute to Cardi. Cardi shifted that in the culture,” he explained. “Because Cardi made it where you’re the OG, you’re the person that’s made all the money, you sold all the records, but you have no problem putting your arm around that next person.”

He went to call out that Cardi has a history of embracing new artists; especially females. “Cardi did for female rap what JAY-Z and Drake did. Like JAY-Z, whatever that next thing was out, JAY-Z was jumping on it. Whether it was Juvenile‘s ‘Huh.’ Whether it was Houston, whether it was Rick Ross…whoever it was, Jay was jumping on there,” Charlamagne added. “I think Cardi’s doing both. I think Cardi’s helping to make the artist big, and she’s helping to make the music big.”

Mutulu Shakur, Elder of Black Liberation Movement, Dies At 72

Mutulu Shakur, a respected elder in the Black Liberation Movement and stepfather to the late Hip-Hop icon Tupac Shakur, has passed away at the age of 72.

The news of Shakur’s passing was confirmed by activist Kamau Franklin on Twitter, with Franklin stating that he passed away Thursday night (July 6th). No immediate cause of death was shared, but Shakur had been suffering from a terminal form of bone marrow cancer among other ailments. At the time of his passing, he was reportedly living with family in Southern California.

The Malcolm X Movement issued a tribute statement on Twitter late Friday morning (July 7th), writing: “Comrade Mutulu Shakur: veteran of the Revolutionary Action Movement, Republic of New Afrika & Black Liberation Army leader, fighter and political prisoner of 36yrs passes on to the ancestors. We stay loyal to your path.”

As NewsOne reports, Shakur had only been out of prison since late last year after being granted release by the U.S. Parole Commission. He was serving a sentence of 60 years for his alleged role in the 1981 robbery of a Brink’s truck in Rockland County, New York which resulted in the deaths of two police officers and a Brink’s guard. He was eligible for parole in 2016 after serving 35 years but was repeatedly denied nine times by authorities who even blocked a compassionate release due to his health issues as the COVID-19 pandemic began. It was only after Bureau of Prison doctors determined he had six months to a year to live when his release was granted.

Born Jeral Wayne Williams in Baltimore, Maryland on August 8th, 1950, Shakur and his family would move to Jamaica, Queens, New York when he was seven. It was there that he became involved with the Revolutionary Action Movement, and then the Republic of New Africa. He became a powerful figure in the struggle for Black Liberation, working with various groups. He would marry Black Panther Party member Afeni Shakur in 1975, becoming stepfather to her son Tupac and father to his sister, Sekyiwa.

Shakur would also be instrumental in the growing acceptance of acupuncture as a vital wellness treatment in the United States, inspired by his work with the detox program at Lincoln Hospital in 1970 which he would become director of until 1978. Receiving his license to perform acupuncture in the state of California in 1979, he would also found the Black Acupuncture Advisory Association of North America (BAAANA) and the Harlem Institute of Acupuncture.

The first new music Friday of July brings multiple new releases, including another re-recorded Taylor Swift album, a team-up between TOMORROW X TOGETHER and the Jonas Brothers, a new collection of tracks from Rauw Alejandro and more.

Swift gifted her devoted Swifties with the release of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), which sees the pop star breathing new life into her old tracks, as well as sharing six previously unreleased songs “From the Vault” — “Castles Crumbling” featuring Hayley Williams, “Foolish One,” “Electric Touch” featuring Fall Out Boy, “Timeless,” “When Emma Falls In Love” and “I Can See You.” The previously unreleased highlight Swift’s maturity as she collaborates with some of the heroes from her youth. The boys of TXT and the Jonas Brothers have linked on new track “Do It Like That,” and sees the K-pop group and American trio fitting in perfectly together. Accompanied by percussive bounce, snaps and pops for the song’s instrumentals, both groups find themselves marveling in the excitement of a new romance that keeps on surprising them. “Yeah, oh, my God/ Don’t know how you do it like that/ Blow my mind/ Then somehow you bring it right back,” the groups take turns singing on the chorus.

Alejandro brought scorching tracks with the release of new album Playa Saturno. The LP sees the Puerto Rican singer expanding on hits such as “Todo De Ti” and “Party” with Bad Bunny, while “Si Te Pegas” featuring Miguel Bosé — though placed toward the end of the record — serves as some of the most euphoric material in the singer’s career.

Dominic Fike, FendiDa Rappa featuring Cardi B, as well as NewJeans also released material this week.

Is Taylor Swift’s ‘When Emma Falls in Love’ About Emma Stone & Andrew Garfield? Swifties Think So

Back when Taylor Swift was writing Speak Now, she wasn’t afraid to use some cryptic references to her real life experiences — “Dear John” being the prime example.

So when Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) arrived on Friday (July 7), Swifties immediately began analyzing the six new “From the Vault” songs, previously unreleased tracks that were cut from the original album.

Among the new songs, “When Emma Falls in Love” immediately stood out to Swifies, as they began to speculate who the Emma in the song could be. The most popular fan theory is that the song is about Emma Stone, who met her ex-boyfriend Andrew Garfield in 2010 (the same year Speak Now was released). The couple dated for five years before ultimately breaking up in 2015.

“When Emma falls in love, she calls up her mom / Jokes about the ways that this one could go wrong / She waits and takes her time / ‘Cause Little Miss Sunshine always thinks it’s gonna rain,” Swift sings in the track, which fans thought could be referring to Stone for a number of reasons.

In the 2010 film Easy A, one of the most memorable scenes was Stone’s character dancing around to Natasha Bedingfield’s hit, “Pocketful of Sunshine.” The sun reference also came up in a later interview with Garfield, who likened the actress to “sunlight.”

However, some fans don’t think the timeline adds up, as Speak Now was released in October 2010, after Stone and Garfield had met but weren’t publicly dating. At the time, Stone was actually dating Kieran Culkin.

Elon Musk and his hot mess of a social media platform, Twitter, are looking salty in these digital streets after threatening to sue Meta for allegedly biting Twitter with Threads.

Spotted on The Verge, it looks like Elon Musk is shaking in his Allbirds following Threads’ successful launch and looks to be a strong contender to knock out the bird app.

In a letter addressed to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg obtained by Semafor, Twitter lawyer Alex Spiro alleges that Meta is using te company’s trade secrets and intellectual property when making bringing Threads to life and is threatening legal action in “both civil remedies and injunctive relief.”

Per The Verge:

Spiro, who is also Elon Musk’s personal lawyer and a partner at the Quinn Emanuel law firm, claims that Meta hired “dozens” of ex-Twitter employees to develop Threads, which wouldn’t be all that surprising given just how many people were fired following Musk’s takeover.

But according to Twitter, many of these former workers still have access to Twitter’s trade secrets and other confidential information. Twitter alleges that Meta took advantage of this and tasked these employees with developing a “copycat” app “in violation of both state and federal law.”

In response to the claims, the communications director for Meta, Andy Stone, said, “No one on the Threads engineering team is a former Twitter employee — that’s just not a thing.”

Meta also doesn’t seem phased by Musk’s threat to sue, being that is usually the course of action the company seems to take, most recently threatening Microsoft with a lawsuit for allegedly abusing Twitter’s API.

In response to the letter, Musk said, “Competition is fine, cheating is not.”

Threads Is Winning Out The Gate

Musk and his company’s lawsuit comes on the heels of Thread’s incredible launch that saw over 10 million users eager to ditch Musk’s platform signup.

According to The Verge, Threads has over 30 million registered users, including big names like Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, J.Lo, and more already on board with the app.

“When I look back at the Speak Now album, I get a lump in my throat. I have a feeling it will always be this way, because this period of time is so violently aglow with the last light of the setting sun of my childhood,” she began her message, which fans who bought the album have taken to social media to share. “I made this album, completely self-written, between the ages of 18 and 20. I’ve spoken about how I feel like those ages are the most emotionally turbulent ones in a person’s life. Maybe when I say that, I’m really just talking about myself.”

Throughout the prologue, Swift recalls the Speak Now era of her life, which was complete with publicized romantic relationships, criticisms surrounding her musical abilities and, of course, the infamous VMAs scandal with Kanye West. “I wanted to get better, to challenge myself, and to build on my skills as a writer, an artist, and a performer,” she shared of her mindset at the time.

The superstar also revealed that three songs on Speak Now stick out to her even after all these years. “It was an album that was the most precious to me because of its vast extremes. It was unfiltered and potent. In my mind, the saddest song I’ve ever written is ‘Last Kiss.’ My most scathing is ‘Dear John’ and my most wistfully romantic is ‘Enchanted.’” she shared.
