Britney Spears Says She Woke Up Recently Thinking She Was Pregnant: ‘I’m So Nauseous’

Even the stars have false alarms. Take it from Britney Spears, who revealed she recently woke up on vacation feeling so nauseous, she genuinely suspected she was pregnant.

“It’s the first year I’ve been able to drink alcohol so my trip to Mexico with all the amazing food and wine was unbelievable !!!” she wrote Tuesday (July 25) in an Instagram post. “I’m really into juicing and the heat makes me coo coo so I have to really watch what I put in my mouth … let’s be honest it’s confusing. Staying in all day with the air conditioner seems like the practical common sense thing to do but I’ve felt caged up my whole life !!!”

“I will be honest I woke up this morning and thought I was pregnant because I’m so nauseous but I think it’s the sun,” added Spears, who’s married to her 29-year-old former backup dancer Sam Asghari.

The 41-year-old “Toxic” singer is already mom to sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, whom she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline. Her post comes a little over a year after she and Asghari, who tied the knot in June 2023, released a joint statement explaining that one month after they announced they were expecting their first baby together, Spears had suffered a miscarriage.

“It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy,” they wrote at the time. “This is a devastating time for any parent… Our love for each other is our strength. We will continue trying to expand our beautiful family.”

But while there’s no new baby news on the horizon yet, Spears is fresh off the release of her first original single since 2016, a dance pop duet with will.i.am called “Mind Your Business.” The pair first started working on the song years ago, and revisited the track earlier this year upon deciding that the time was finally right to drop it.

The pop star also just announced that her highly anticipated, multimillion-dollar memoir, The Woman in Me, is finally set to arrive later this year — Oct. 24, to be exact. “I’m so excited… can’t wait to share this new with you all!!!!” she told fans of the project shortly before the announcement.

Watch Ice Spice Lead a Twerk Takeover in New ‘Deli’ Music Video

Ice Spice’s is still dancing to her success. On Wednesday (July 26), the Bronx rapper dropped the official music video for “Deli,” a new song from the deluxe version of her Like..? EP.

Flanked by a small but mighty gang of girls armed with strong twerking skills and fashion inspired by Ice Spice’s round-the-way style, the “Princess Diana” rapper takes over a literal deli in her new visual. Featuring cameos from “Deli” producer RiotUSA and fellow New York rapper Cleotrapa, the “Deli” video combines footage of Ice and her girls turning up inside the deli, local New York kids woo walking and rocking their hips, and flashy scenes inside of a party bus. After visiting Barbie Land and Taylor Swift’s celestial fantasia in the music videos for “Barbie World” (with Nicki Minaj and AQUA) and “Karma,” respectively, Ice Spice gets local and comes back home to New York in the “Deli” visual, directed by herself and George and Frederick Buford.

Ice released the deluxe edition of her Like..? EP on July 21; it features four new tracks in addition to the previously released Nicki Minaj-assisted remix of “Princess Diana.” The original EP debuted at No. 37 on the Billboard 200 upon its Jan. 20 release, and eventually reached a peak of No. 15. The standard edition of the EP featured a slew of notable songs from the breakout star, including “Munch,” “Bikini Bottom,” “Gangsta Boo” (with Lil Tjay), and “In Ha Mood,” her first unaccompanied entry on the Billboard Hot 100.

In just under a year, Ice Spice has collected four top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100: “Karma” (No. 2), “Princess Diana” (No. 5), “Barbie World” (No. 7), and PinkPantheress duet “Boy’s A Liar, Pt. 2” (No. 3).

Doja Cats Loses 250K Followers On The Gram After She Treated Them Like Crap Over The Weekend

Being a jerk to your fans comes with consequences. Just ask Doja Cat, who has lost many of them in just a few days.

Spotted on HipHopDX via XXL, Social Blade reports that Doja Cat lost over 200,000 on Instagram between Sunday, July 23, and Monday, July 24. Another 48,000 hit the unfollow button on Tuesday following reports of Doja Cat sniping at her loyal fans who take time out of their lives to run fan accounts and dared to name themselves “Kittenz.”

Losing a quarter of a million fans seems like a big deal. It’s barely a blip in her following count, which sits at an astounding 25.7 million.

Per Page Six’s previous reporting:

The “Streets” singer has been on one lately with her fans, going off on them over the weekend in a series of now-deleted tweets.

“My fans don’t get to name themselves s—t,” the “Boss Bitch” singer declared in a series of since-deleted tweets posted over the weekend.

“If you call yourself a ‘Kitten’ or f—king ‘Kittenz’ that means you need to get off your phone and get a job and help your parents with the house.”

One fan quickly questioned the rapper’s outlandish remarks, tweeting in response, “??? only using the name YOU gave your fans.”

Twitter Feels Sorry For Doja Cat Fans

Social media gave her that same energy back, joking about how painful it must be to be a fan of an artist like Doja Cat, who constantly treats her fans like crap.

Her behavior was so bad that fellow Pop Star Charli XCX responded in a tweet, “doja cat’s being so grumpy !”

Doja Cat has also been blocking people calling her out for bad taste in men. Recently she was spotted getting cozy with problematic “influencer” J. Cyrus, who has been accused of being a groomer and manipulator and has a history of racist Vine posts.

It’s clear Doja Cat doesn’t care what you think about her or her current love interest. We shall see if that continues to lead to her fans throwing up their hands and finding someone else to stan about.

Lauren Daigle’s ‘Thank God I Do’ Tops All 5 Christian Song Charts – a Feat Last Achieved by Her Smash ‘You Say’

Lauren Daigle’s “Thank God I Do” ascends to No. 1 on Billboard’s Christian Airplay and Christian AC Airplay rankings dated July 29, as she scores a fivefold chart domination not achieved since her own “You Say” over four years ago.

“Thank God I Do” drew 6.2 million audience impressions July 14-20, according to Luminate.

Daigle earns her fifth No. 1 on Christian Airplay and her sixth on Christian AC Airplay.

The song is the lead single from Daigle’s self-titled LP, which arrived at No. 1 on the Top Christian Albums chart in May, giving the Lake Charles, La., native her fourth leader. The 10-song set will expand by 10 tracks later this year.

Daigle wrote “Thank God I Do” with Jason Ingram, with Jeffrey Bhasker, P!nk (Alecia Moore) and Nate Ruess also receiving writing credit, as the song contains elements of P!nk’s “Just Give Me a Reason,” featuring Ruess (which the three co-penned), a three-week No. 1 on the all-genre multimetric Billboard Hot 100 in 2013.

“Wow, just wow,” Daigle says of her latest chart coronations. “It has been absolutely incredible seeing how people have connected to ‘Thank God I Do,’ and receiving the news that it has reached No. 1 at radio is so special. It means more than words to see the continued support and enthusiasm for this new music, which is so close to my heart.”

Meanwhile, “Thank God I Do” rules the streaming-, airplay- and sales-based Hot Christian Songs survey for an 11th frame, after becoming her sixth No. 1 in May. The hit retains the penthouse bolstered by 2.6 million official U.S. streams (up 2%) and 2,000 sold. It tops Christian Digital Song Sales for a 17th week and Christian Streaming Songs for an eighth week.

The only other title to rule Hot Christian Songs, Christian Airplay, Christian AC Airplay, Christian Streaming Songs and Christian Digital Song Sales simultaneously in the nearly 10 years that the five lists have coexisted? Daigle’s crossover smash “You Say,” which did so for 11 weeks in 2018-19.

On Christian Airplay, “Thank God I Do” is Daigle’s first chart-topper since “You Say” dominated for 17 weeks beginning in September 2018. She logged four top 10s in between: “Look Up Child” (No. 6 peak, April 2019); “Rescue” (No. 4, November 2019); “Still Rolling Stones” (No. 5, July 2020); and “Hold On to Me” (No. 3, July 2021).

Daigle’s 18 Christian Airplay chart-entries include 14 top 10s. Her first of five leaders was the aptly titled “First,” which reigned for three weeks starting in October 2015.

“You Say” is Daigle’s longest-leading Christian AC Airplay No. 1, with 15 weeks on top.

Among women, Daigle’s five Christian Airplay No. 1s place her second, behind Francesca Battistelli with six. On Christian AC Airplay, Daigle’s six No. 1s are the most among women, with Battistelli and Mandisa tied for second with four each. (Both charts began in June 2003.)

Ice Cube Is Getting Dragged For Taking Tucker Carlson On A South Central Tour

BIG3 - Championship

We’re not sure what Ice Cube’s end game is here (besides promoting the BIG 3), but it’s not going well for him at the moment. The Hip-Hop icon is getting dragged for filth after participating in an interview with established, allegedly, white supremacist Tucker Carlson.

Recently, Cube has been adamant that just because he takes a photo with a scoundrel, it doesn’t mean it’s a co-sign. Such as when he was snapped with faux-Democrat and alleged anti-vaxxer Robert Kennedy Jr.

However, linking with Tucker Carlson, who made a living spewing racist commentary on FOX News on a nightly basis before he was unceremoniously fired, is a bridge too far for many. The name of the episode—Tucker moved his tomfoolery to Twitter after getting booted from FOX News—is titled “Stay in your lane: our drive through South Central LA with Ice Cube.”

While both ride in the back of an SUV, Cube gives Tucker a tour of the South Central neighborhood he grew up in. Of course, Tuck’ems skewed to Cube’s disdain of politics. “Politicians only really pay attention to the people that give them money,” said Cube. “Everybody else is kinda an extra in their movie. We love you in the scene, but we can do the scene without you.”

Added Cube, “Politicians have hidden agendas.”

Nothing Cube said right there is wrong. But that Tucker Carlson wack juice is impossible to get off. Just ask Kanye West. And that’s the main beef from commenters. Especially after many felt Cube was too willing to entertain Donald Trump’s ridiculousness. A common observation was also that Carlson asked leading questions about Obama, George Floyd and the Covid-19 vaccine just to get Cube to give a controversial answer.

See more reactions to Ice Cube taking Carlson on a safari in the hood in the commentary.

Rosalía & Rauw Alejandro End Engagement, Split After 3 Years Together: Report

Rosalía and Rauw Alejandro have reportedly ended their relationship after three years together. According to People, who first reported the news, the power couple decided to not move forward with their engagement. The news comes just months after the artists revealed they were engaged in the music video for “Beso,” from their three-track joint EP RR, also released the same day they announced their engagement.

Representatives for Rosalía declined to comment. A representative for Alejandro did not immediately respond to a message from Billboard.

The Spanish star and the Puerto Rican hitmaker met in person in 2019 — after months of messaging each other on social media — at a Las Vegas hotel lounge during the Latin Grammys. It was love at first sight, the couple told Billboard for their cover story interview.

Since the inception of their relationship, Rosalía and Rauw have been each other’s biggest supporters on and off the stage. Before RR, Rosalía sang backing vocals on “Dile a Él” from Rauw’s first album, Afrodisiaco (2020), as well as on “Corazón Despeinado” from Saturno (2022). Meanwhile, Alejandro co-wrote some lyrics for Rosalía’s “Chicken Teriyaki” from her Grammy and Latin Grammy-winning 2022 album, Motomami.

“I’m lucky to be your partner, and I want to be there for you, sabes? And I feel you’re there for me, independent of the careers,” said Rosalía, who had Rauw as a guest on her Coachella set in April where they performed “Beso” and “Vampiros” off RR. “For me, our relationship is first, and then there’s everything else. Of course my career is super important in my life, but at the same time, in my life, you’re my companion, and everything else comes second.”

Imagine Dragons Signs With Warner Chappell Music

Imagine Dragons, one of the most successful rock bands of the past decade, has signed a global administration deal with Warner Chappell Music (WCM).

“Songwriting has always been at the heart of everything we do as a band,” Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds said in a statement. “We’re excited to have great partners with our friends at Warner Chappell as we move into this next chapter.” The band had previously been signed to Universal Music Group Publishing.

WCM co-chair/CEO Guy Moot and co-chair/COO Carianne Marshall added in a joint statement, “For more than 10 years, Imagine Dragons has not only reached but maintained global stardom and connected with fans on a universal level. The band is the perfect example of what happens when you successfully work across genres and mediums to create a wide range of crossover hits. We’re lucky to be on this ride with them and excited for the journey ahead.”

Since releasing its self-titled EP in 2009 and subsequently signing with KIDinaKORNER/Interscope, Imagine Dragons has landed five albums in the top 10 of the Billboard 200. Among its top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 are 2012’s “Radioactive” and “Demons,” 2017’s “Believer” and 2021’s “Enemy” (with J.I.D).

According to WCM, the group has accumulated more than 160 billion streams, as well as four RIAA diamond singles.

WCM vp of A&R Jon Chen added, “Imagine Dragons is in a league of their own when it comes to their songwriting instincts and skills. They’ve successfully built a diverse catalog that has defined an entire era of pop and alt-rock. We’re so proud that they’ve chosen us as their publishing partners and know there’s many more No. 1 hits to come.”

Imagine Dragons’ most recent project was the Rick Rubin-produced two-part opus Mercury Act 1, released in 2021, and Mercury Act 2, released in 2022.  Among the acts Imagine Dragons have collaborated with are Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne and Wiz Khalifa.

What the Hollywood Strikes Mean for the $2B Music Synch Business

With film and television production shut down for the foreseeable future, the Hollywood writer and actor strikes are ravaging all the businesses that touch the movie industry, from catering to editing to flower delivery — including music synchs. After generating $382 million for record labels and nearly $1.5 billion for publishers in 2022, the sector is beginning to struggle as the strikes proceed.

“That’s been quite a dark thing,” says Stephanie Diaz Matos, head of music supervision for writer-actress Issa Rae’s Raedio, a music company that includes a publisher and label. “We have several shows that, once the actors went on strike, they stopped production.”

Adds a music publishing source: “It could be bumpy if this goes on for a really long time.”

Since the Writers Guild of America strike began in early May — and the Screen Actors Guild joined earlier this month — labels and publishers report receiving fewer requests for pitching songs. “The amount of film and TV briefs I get have gone way down,” says Mara Kuge, founder and president of Superior Music Publishing. “Briefs for trailers [some of the most highly paid placements] have also been in more mild decline as well,” adds Jack Ormandy, co-founder and CEO of SILO: Music, a publishing, management and synch house.

The Writers Guild of America, East and West, represent 11,500 movie and TV writers and have been unable to agree on a new contract with Hollywood studios and streaming services over issues like higher compensation in the streaming economy, protection from the effects of artificial intelligence, more contributions to health and pension funds and improvements in workplace standards. Thousands of actors in the SAG-AFTRA union joined the writers’ picket line July 14 after negotiations broke down with studios over a new contract of their own.

While there’s hope the strikes could be resolved by the fall, some sources fear they could drag on into 2024, frequently citing a chilling quote from an unnamed studio executive in a recent Deadline article: “The endgame is to allow things to drag on until union members start losing their apartments and losing their houses.”

“I don’t know what that’s going to look like in three months or six months. I’m hopeful this will come to a resolution and [the striking actors and writers] get the benefits they hope for,” says Esther Friedman, senior vp of creative film and television licensing for Sony Music Publishing. “We felt it in the late-night TV shows. Those stopped right away.”

Synch revenue is a major, and growing, source of income in the music business. According to the RIAA, synchronization licensing — the right required to use music along with visual media — increased by 24.8% in 2022, and the synch business made up 26% of all publishing royalties, says the NMPA. Placements in studio film and TV projects can earn artists up to six figures, and prominent synchs can lead to even greater financial ripple effects after a show’s release. Perhaps the greatest recent example is Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God),” which catapulted to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 after an appearance in Netflix’s Stranger Things repopularized the original 1985 single.

The strikes have shocked the multimillion-dollar synch system of movie and TV music supervisors sending briefs to music publishers and labels. “Usually, if we are not getting a ton of briefs, or it’s a slower time, we’re wining-and-dining clients, checking in,” says Jessica Vaughn, head of sync for Venice. “But it’s hard to justify going to music supervisors right now and being, like, ‘Hey, how are you doing, looking for any music?’ Because some supervisors might be out of work or about to finish up one project and not sure what they’re doing next.”

For labels and publishers, the key to surviving the Hollywood strikes may be diversification — many are looking to advertisements, reality and unscripted TV shows, documentaries and overseas films to bolster synch revenue. Also: video games. According to MIDiA Research’s 2022 study on music and gaming, the gaming industry earned $138 billion in 2020, and games make up a sizable portion of the synch business. After the Hollywood strikes, Ormandy hired a new employee at his company to focus specifically on video-game licensing. Adds Vaughn: “I see this as an opportunity right now to focus in on gaming. Some people overlook gaming, but it really is huge.”

For now, labels and publishers are focusing on shows and films made before the strikes that are in post-production, and will still contribute to the synch business in the short term. But it’s tricky. “You sometimes can’t finish episodes without your writers or actors because things like voiceovers need to be added in,” Diaz Matos says.

Plus, if the strikes drag on, actors won’t be available for crucial film and TV promotion. Because of this problem, some studios are beginning to push back release dates, including the Luca Guadagnino film Challengers, starring Zendaya, which has moved from its Sept. 15 release to April 26, 2024. Because synch payments are made around three to six months after the date of a film’s release, these delays will be a pain point for music licensors, even if the placement was completed before the actors’ strike. “Down the line is where you start to feel it — three to six months out,” says the publishing source.

Superior Music Publishing’s Kuge adds that synch revenue is known to vary widely quarter by quarter. “It’s very up and down regardless,” she says. “People who deal with the world of synch are so used to it that they’re not going to feel the effects too much unless the strikes drag on for two or three quarters straight — that’s the point when it starts getting past the normal ups and downs.”

If this kind of diversification helps synch departments withstand losses from the strikes, music supervisors — those who compile soundtracks for film and TV and act as the go-between for productions and licensors — are not able to wait as long. Most supervisors are freelance contractors, working on a project-by-project basis. Sources say a number of notable music supervision firms have laid off staff members, citing the lack of projects in the pipeline.

“I actually furloughed my coordinator yesterday. I have one project I think is going to get a waiver [granted by the unions to certain independent films] — once that goes back, I think I can get her back,” says Lindsay Wolfington, a veteran music supervisor for streaming shows such as Virgin River, Monster High and the upcoming movie Love at First Sight. “We’ve all had to figure out healthcare on our own. The bank account’s not fun to look at.”

Music supervisors are not unionized, but the roughly 150-200 of them who work at Netflix are awaiting a National Labor Relations Board decision on a union-certification motion they filed last October. They’re seeking representation with the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, and their demands overlap with those of the striking writers and actors: more reliable payment deliveries, cost-of-living increases and healthcare and retirement and pension plans. “The rates haven’t changed in years, and it’s the same with writers and actors,” Wolfington says.

Julie Glaze Houlihan, another veteran music supervisor who has worked on Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery and other hit shows and movies, predicts the strikes will cause pain for the music business. “Clearance is going to slow down, record labels and publishers are going to lose revenue because music isn’t being licensed. It is a domino effect,” she says. “Nobody wants this to go on.” But SILO: Music’s Ormandy is more optimistic. “Though COVID was completely different for many reasons, it was also a time when the film industry just stopped, too,” he says. “What I’m banking on is that we know how to weather a similar storm.”

Troye Sivan ‘Pulling the Brakes’ on Reaching Out to Stray Kids’ Hyunjin After TikTok Video Elicited Scary Responses

Troye Sivan was having some fun last month when he made a playful plea to his followers to help him track down his celebrity crush. While teasing his thumping new single, “Rush,” Sivan posted a thirst trap fan edit of Stray Kids singer Hyunjin in which the 23-year-old pop star was depicted dancing in slow motion.

“Anyone know how to reach this man,” Sivan captioned the clip.

But now, in a new interview with Apple Music’s Travis Mills, Sivan said some of the comments he received on his light-hearted attempt at digital flirting with the K-pop singer he first met — and took a selfie with — at Dua Lipa’s “La Vacanza” Versace fashion show in Cannes in May have made him reconsider his public plea.

“I’m even nervous to talk about it now,” he told Mills with a skittish laugh. “I thought he was super, super, super sweet and, obviously, so beautiful. And then I deep-dived and was like, ‘this guy is insanely talented.’” Sivan said he put up what he thought was a “cute” TikTok reach-out message, but some of the responses made him re-think his plan.

“I got a lot of nice messages, like a lot of people being like, ‘this is cute,’” he said. “But I also got a lot of death threats and stuff like that. So, I am pulling the brakes on that.” That said, Sivan added that if a chance came to possibly collab with Hyunjin in the future, he would do that in “a heartbeat.”

Sivan’s original TikTok was followed by a second one in which he said it was the last time he would “publicly crush” on a K-pop star, joking that the Hyunjin reach out almost got him “murdered.” Sivan’s follow-up to his 2018 album Bloom, Something to Give Each Other, is due out on Oct. 13.

Check out the interview below (Hyunjin talk begins at 16 minute mark):

President Biden Designates National Monument For Emmett Till

President Joe Biden is set to establish a national monument to honor the late Emmett Till and his mother, Mamie Till-Mobley.

President Biden is signing a proclamation Tuesday (July 25) to create the monuments at the White House. The signing comes on the 82nd anniversary of the teenager’s birth. The Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley National Monument will consist of three protected sites honoring the family in Illinois, where Emmett was born and raised, and in Mississippi where he was lynched in 1955 at the age of 14 after being falsely accused of whistling at a white woman, Carolyn Bryant Donham.

The first site is the Roberts Temple Church of God in Christ in Chicago. The church is where Till’s funeral was held in September 1955. Ms. Till-Mobley insisted on her son’s casket being opened to show his mutilated body, shocking the 1,700 attendees and the world. The moment is credited as a catalyst for the Civil Rights Movement’s progress through the late 1950s and 1960s.

The other two sites are in Mississippi. Graball Landing in Tallahatchie County is believed to be the site where Till’s body was pulled from the Tallahatchie River. The site is notable for having a sign placed at it in 2008 but needing to be replaced after multiple instances of vandalism. A new bulletproof sign detailing that history and what happened now stands there. The third site is the Tallahatchie County Second District Courthouse, where Till’s killers Roy Bryant and J.W. Milam were acquitted by an all-white jury.

The proclamation comes amidst an explosive divisive political battle currently going on nationwide that seeks to restrict how Black history in America is being taught in schools. Florida Governor and presidential candidate Ron DeSantis is squarely in the middle, as Florida education officials introduced new standards saying “slaves developed skills which, in some instances, could be applied for their personal benefit.” That drew a scathing rebuke from Vice President Kamala Harris, who said in a recent speech that “They insult us in an attempt to gaslight us and we will not stand for it.”
