Taylor Swift, Jack Harlow Reign Over Australia’s Christmas Charts

Taylor Swift is the queen of Christmas in Australia as 1989 (Taylor’s Version) retains the chart title for an eighth consecutive week.

With that feat, 1989 (Taylor’s Version) (via Universal) is the longest running No. 1 album of 2023, outpointing Swift’s own Midnights, which led for seven non-consecutive weeks between January and July, ARIA reports.

Swift completed unprecedented sweeps on the ARIA Albums Chart during the year, and doubled up on both main tallies. The U.S. pop star’s sales and streaming action should reach fever pitch in February 2024 when Swift’s The Eras Tour visits Australia for seven sold-out stadium shows, produced by Frontier Touring.

Meanwhile, Australian alternative rock favorites Violent Soho return to the ARIA Chart at No. 2 with Hungry Ghost (I Oh You/Universal), their third album. The LP roars up the survey thanks to a 10th anniversary reissue, which eclipses its previous peak of No. 6, during a run when Hungry Ghost logged more than a year in the top 50. Violent Soho, which announced an indefinite hiatus in 2022, has reigned over the ARIA Albums Chart twice: with 2016’s Waco and 2020’s Everything Is A-OK.

Completing Australia’s albums chart podium is Swift’s Midnights, up 4-3; while Michael Bublé’s double-diamond certified Christmas (Reprise/Warner) shines on the national tally, up 8-4. Christmas first hit No. 1 in 2011 and logged 15 weeks at the summit, across six stints, ARIA reports.

Over on the ARIA Singles Chart, Jack Harlow’s “Lovin On Me” (Atlantic/Warner) completes a sixth-straight week at No. 1, handing the Louisville rapper honors as the first new artist in six years to reign over Australia’s chart during the week of Christmas.

With Harlow’s hit getting all the love, Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” (Columbia/Sony) is denied a sixth consecutive Christmas No. 1; it’s up 3-2 on the ARIA Chart, published Friday, Dec. 22, ahead of Tate McRae’s “Greedy” (down 2-3 via RCA/Sony), Wham’s “Last Christmas” (up 5-4 via Sony) and Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” (up 9-5 via Warner/Universal), respectively.

Cher Sets U.K. Chart Records With ‘DJ Play a Christmas Song’

Cher enters the U.K. history books — twice — as “DJ Play a Christmas Song” (via Warner Records) blasts to No. 20 on the national singles tally.

The pop legend’s holiday number vaults 41-20 on the Official U.K. Singles Chart, published Dec. 22, meaning Cher becomes the first solo artist to land top 40 hits with new material in seven consecutive decades, and she becomes the oldest female to snag a top tier hit.

At 77 years, 7 months old, Cher is the oldest solo female performer to secure a top 40 on the Official U.K. Singles Chart, beating the previous mark set by Shirley Bassey, who was 70 years and 4 months old when “The Living Tree” peaked at No. 37 in 2007.

No other solo artist has achieved a top 40 U.K. hit across seven consecutive decades, the Official Charts Company reports. Cher got the ball rolling with her debut solo single “All I Really Want To Do” from 1965, and has cracked the top 40 every decade since.

“Cher cements her position as a living legend this week, notching up two incredible landmarks,” comments Martin Talbot, CEO of the Official Charts, “becoming the oldest living female to secure a Top 40 single and the only female solo artist to claim an Official Top 40 single in seven consecutive decades.”

The late Captain Sir Tom Moore holds the record for the oldest artist to score a U.K. No. 1 single, doing so at age 99 years and 11 months old when his charity-fundraising collaboration with Michael Ball, “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” summited in 2020.

“DJ Play a Christmas Song“ is Cher’s highest-charting single in the U.K. in over two decades, since “The Music’s No Good Without You” reached No. 8 in 2001. It’s the lead single from her 27th studio LP Christmas, which vaults 15-5 on the latest albums tally, for a new peak position and 11th career top 10 effort.

“DJ Play a Christmas Song” has been a record-setter on both sides of the Atlantic. When the single jingled to the top of the Dec. 2-dated Dance/Electronic Song Sales survey, she became the first solo artist to earn a new No. 1 on a Billboard songs chart; the only other act to have at least one new No. 1 on a Billboard songs chart in each of the seven decades from the 1960s through the 2020s is the Rolling Stones.

Canserbero’s Former Manager Confesses to Double Murder

Eight years after the deaths of rapper Canserbero and his producer Carlos Molnar, previously ruled as a murder-suicide, Venezuela’s attorney general, Tarek William Saab, released a new update on Tuesday (Dec. 26) after reopening the case last month.

According to Saab, the Public Prosecutor’s Office has clarified the case, and released the confession of those now presumed responsible of murdering the two: Canserbero’s manager and Molnar’s partner, María Natalia Améstica, and her brother, Guillermo Améstica.

In three videos shared by the prosecutor on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Améstica confesses that, in the midst of a work-related fit of rage, she served Canserbero (real name Tirone José González Orama) and Molnar tea mixed with a sedative on the night of Jan. 19, 2015 in her apartment in the city of Maracay, and later stabbed them to death. She also states how, with the help of her brother and the complicity of officials, the scene was altered to make it appear that Canserbero murdered Molnar and then committed suicide.

“It is 1:30 in the morning on December 19, 2023. I am making this video to publicly confess my responsibility for the double homicide of Carlos Molnar and Tirone González ‘Canserbero,’” begins the first 4:40 minute clip. Also, María Natalia claims that the problems began a month before the tragedy, when she found out that she would not be reimbursed for the tickets she had bought for a tour of the artist nor would she be paid for her marketing work for the tour, and that Canserbero didn’t want her as his manager. “That hurt me a lot,” María Natalia declares. “I was left with a lot of internal suffering because of the disdain.”

In a second video, her brother Guillermo Améstica corroborates the information by telling his version of events.

According to information published on Tuesday on the official website of the Venezuelan Public Prosecutor’s Office, Saab declared that “110 investigative steps were taken and 13 trips were made to Maracay to gather the new evidence that allowed the case to be clarified.”

“She poured into the tea she gave them a total of 10 milligrams [of Alpram] previously made into powder to dilute in that tea, resulting in both of them falling asleep within minutes of ingesting that beverage,” the official said.

According to the statements of the Améstica siblings, published by the ministry, María Natalia first assaulted Molnar in the kitchen with three stab wounds, and then went to the sofa in the living room, where Canserbero had fallen asleep, to stab him twice on the side. She called her brother to ask for help, and he “arrived at the property in the company of three officers of the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (Sebin) who advised him on the alteration of the scene in exchange for $1,000 each.”

To make it look like a murder-suicide, “Guillermo stabbed Molnar and gave Canserbero’s body a blow with a pipe that disfigured his face, with the purpose of simulating a fight between them.” Then, they threw Canserbero’s corpse out of the window, Guillermo left the scene and Maria Natalia called the neighbors, according to Venezuelan authorities.

According to the Améstica brothers, the commission of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminalistic Investigations Corps (CICPC) noticed that the scene had been altered upon arrival and arranged the last details in exchange for $10,000. The authorities initially claimed that the rapper stabbed his friend to death before taking his own life.

The resolution of the case comes just over a month after the Venezuelan prosecutor’s office announced it would reopen the case following persistent appeals from the late rapper’s family and friends.

Canserbero died at the age of 26 as a leading figure not only in Venezuela but in the world of rap in Spanish. Known for dark lyrics reflecting the violence in his country and real life experiences, he collaborated with artists such as Mala Rodríguez and Apache and released two solo studio albums, Vida and Muerte.

In August, Billboard Latin and Billboard Español named him one of the most essential Spanish-language rappers of all time.

Israeli MMA Fighter Gets Kanye West’s Name on Gaza Bomb

HipHopWired Featured Video

Celebrity Sightings In Beverly Hills - June 16, 2023

An Israeli MMA fighter has taken credit for Ye aka Kanye West’s name on a military missile, bragging about it on social media.

Kanye West has become a part of the Israel-Hamas conflict, with his name having been scrawled onto a missile of the Israel Defense Forces.

An MMA fighter from Israel, Haim Gozali, claimed responsibility for the deed in a post made on X, formerly Twitter on Sunday (December 24). The post shows a picture of missiles, with one prominently displayed showing the message “Kanye West flying to Gaza Haim Gozali” on it. “You don’t like us Jewish. So we don’t like you too !!!”, the caption from Gozali’s post read.

The post was first made from the 50-year-old’s backup account, as Gozali had gotten his main account suspended from the social media platform for a week due to posting a photo of bombs emblazoned with the names of Khabib Nurmagomedov, Kazmat Chiamev, Belal Muhammed and Islam Makhachev.

The four fighters are all Muslim and have vocally expressed support for the people of Palestine. Gozali’s caption for that post read, “This is from me to the [rat emoji.” Gozali would repost the Kanye West photo through his main account after his suspension ended.

Gozali is a fifth-degree black belt jiu-jitsu practitioner who currently fights in Bellator MMA’s middleweight and light heavyweight divisions. He has served in the IDF previously, although there aren’t details on which unit it was in.

The fighter has been consistently vocal in his support of Israel, which has been waging war on the Hamas militant organization after a terror attack on October 7 which killed 1200 Israelis with 240 hostages being taken. In response, Israel’s military has operated daily air and artillery strikes in the Gaza region which have reportedly claimed over 20,000 lives according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

West, who has had a history of of antisemitic remarks dating back to last October when he first sent out the message “going death con 3 On Jewish people” on X, issued an apology in Hebrew on his Instagram page. The rapper’s apology was picked up on by Gozali, who has been reposting all news items about the bomb dedicated to the rapper on his X account.

Rihanna Says She Loves A$AP Rocky ‘Differently As A Dad,’ Says It’s A ‘Turn-On’ Watching Him Be A Great Father

The 2023 Met Gala Celebrating

If there is one celebrity couple we should all be rooting for, it’s Rihanna and A$AP Rocky. Earlier this year, the “Umbrella” singer and the “Am I Dreaming” rapper welcomed their second child, Riot Rose, into the world and now, Rihanna is gushing over the father of her children and opening up about how parenting has strengthened and deepened their relationship.

“I love him differently as a dad,” Rihana declared during an interview with Page Six. “This is major, major…it’s a turn-on. It’s just like, wow. What a leader, what a great, patient, loving…and my kids are obsessed with him.”

For what it’s worth, A$AP also appears to be fully immersed in his new role as a father of two. In November, was asked by Complex if he would ever consider collaborating with Rihanna on a project at Puma, the fashion company where they both work as the creative directors of their respective clothing lines.

It appeared that the only artistic collaboration the “Praise the Lord” rapper was interested in discussing was the collaborative art of creating life with the love of his life.

“What could we team up and just like f—ing smash and go crazy on?” Rocky pondered. “I think we do a real great job at collaborating and making children.”

“I think that’s our best creation so far,” he said of his sons. “Nothing’s better than that.”

Rihanna and A$AP are superstars with iconic careers, but right now it appears they’re just two new parents in love and involved in their roles as caregivers of their children. And at a time when we hear more about the drama in the lives of celebrity couples than we do about love and light, their apparent happiness is a breath of fresh air.

Black love in a Black family—it’s a beautiful thing.

Former Assistant to Kevin Hart Tells Tasha K He’s A Serial Cheater

A former assistant to Kevin Hart has made allegations about his serial adultery and more in a recent interview with Tasha K.

The former assistant to comedian Kevin Hart, Miesha Shakes, has come forward with scathing allegations about his behavior in a sit-down interview with celebrity blogger Tasha K claiming that Hart is a serial adulterer despite being married to his wife, Eniko Hart, and an irresponsible gambler among other charges.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=xNQxRc5Oatk&version=3&rel=1&showsearch=0&showinfo=1&iv_load_policy=1&fs=1&hl=en-US&autohide=2&wmode=transparent

In the trailer for the Unwine With Tasha K episode, the host opens up by asking Shakes what compelled her to reach out.

“It is time for Hollywood to hear these stories especially because a lot of people are locked in non-disclosures and they’re not able to talk and protect themselves. But you have to protect the person you’re working for, where’s your protection?” Shakes stated.

From there, the clip shows Tasha K bringing up the scandal involving Hart and a woman he was caught on video with at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas. Hart would own up to his infidelity, which Shakes said was the basis for an extortion attempt against Hart.

But Shakes went further and claimed that Hart fathered another child with a woman in his company, Hartbeat Studios. “She pregnant again?,” asked Tasha K, to which Shakes responded, “Correct, with her second baby.”

Shakes also claimed she told Eniko Hart, “Kevin is cheating with a girl named Mixed Morgan. She’s his flight attendant. She’s on his planes.”

She then pulled up the Instagram profile of the woman and showed Tasha K, who responded with shock and laughter. Shakes would also go on to respond to Tasha K’s question on whether her former boss has a serious gambling problem. “Yes, his game is poker,” she replied. She also responded affirmatively before citing another person named Leland as being responsible as well.

The allegations come as Tasha K is under duress.

The blogger was recently named in a lawsuit by the disgraced R&B singer R. Kelly, who claims that she was responsible for leaking information about him with the help of personnel at the correctional facility he was being held in before his trial for sex trafficking in Illinois.

She also still has to contend with paying rapper Cardi B over $4 million after a court found her guilty of defamation earlier this year.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Says Her Home Was Swatted On Christmas

HipHopWired Featured Video

US-INDIA-DIPLOMACY-POLITICS-CONGRESS-MODI

Marjorie Taylor Greene received a visit on Christmas but it wasn’t from Santa. She says her home was swatted on the big holiday.

The Washington Post is reporting that the Rome, Ga. native was trolled on her day off. On the morning of Christmas, she took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to reveal her home was the subject of a swatting. The term refers to a prank call made to emergency services with an attempt to dispatch a SWAT team or large groups of armed patrol to a designated address.

To add more insult to injury the Republican Representative also shared that she received multiple death threats before leading up to Christmas.

“We received this death threat where this man is saying I will be shot in the head and skinned to make a ‘parasol,’ making a reference to Gein, who was a psychopath killer who would make things out of his victims’ skin,” she wrote. Marjorie Taylor Greene would later say that the suspect had yet to be apprehended.

Her day would continue to become even more problematic as she says eight more swatting attempts were made targeting her residence. To her surprise, the FBI is not allowed to track down the pranksters. Greene says she will be, “introducing legislation to track down swatters.”

Swatting has become an increasingly popular tactic for harassing notable figures. Back in August, Nicki Minaj was the victim of a swatting. Days later she would announce that there was a warrant out for the arrest of the alleged culprit.

According to Wikipedia swatting can be prosecuted via several federal criminal statutes including, “Threatening interstate communications” and, “Conspiracy to retaliate against a witness, victim, or informant.”

Beyoncé’s Childhood Home in Houston Catches Fire on Christmas Day

HipHopWired Featured Video

Houston Chronicle

The childhood home of one of music’s most iconic stars went up in flames in the early morning hours of Christmas Day. According to a report from ABC13, the former home of Beyoncé, located in the 2400 block of Rosedale Street in Houston’s Third Ward, caught fire around 2 AM local time.

The fire reportedly ripped through the second story of the home where the family that lives there now was still dressed in festive holiday pajamas. According to accounts from those on the scene, no one was hurt in the fire which was reportedly under control within moments of the arrival of Houston’s Fire Department.

“They did a great job. I’m going to say in less than 10 minutes, we had a really good grip on this fire,” District Chief Justin Barnes said.

HFD is still trying to determine the cause of the fire.

The Knowles family has long since moved out of the home, but fans still consider it an iconic landmark.

While Beyoncé no longer lives in Houston, she and her family regularly host charitable events in the city. In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, the global superstar and her mother, Tina Knowles, helped set up mobile testing sites in her hometown, according to CNN.

Beyoncé has offered no comment about the fire at this time.
