Last week, Dolly Parton posted a message to social media congratulating Beyoncé for her first Hot Country Songs chart-topper with “Texas Hold ‘Em,” writing, “I’m a big fan of Beyoncé and very excited that she’s done a country album. So congratulations on your Billboard Hot Country number one single. Can’t wait to hear the full album! Love, Dolly.”

Parton is affectionately known as the Queen of Country, but she’s no stranger to crossing genre lines herself, from her pop music in the 1970s and ’80s to her most recent album Rockstar, which she made in response to her 2022 induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame; the project topped Billboard’s Top Rock Albums and Top Country Albums charts.

Cardi B Teases Fiery New Track on Instagram

Cardi B’s new album era is seemingly upon us (finally!).

The rapper took to her Instagram Stories to re-share a fan’s post, in which a snippet of an upcoming song is teased. “I ain’t even got dressed / Any L that I took come after YS / Oh man, oh man, oh man, oh man,” she declares on the track. Check out the Instagram Story before it disappears here.

The teasers comes just a week after Cardi’s estranged husband Offset took to his own Stories to encourage the “Bodak Yellow” rapper to drop her new music. In the video, the Migos star is seen bobbing his head and loving the music with a satisfied stank face on, and since the video had no audio, viewers were left to their imagination in interpreting the caption. “Stop being scary and drop the album” it read, along with “s–t goes crazy [fire emoji],” he wrote.

A new Cardi album would mark her first since 2018’s Invasion of Privacy. The album spawned two No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 singles, the diamond-certified “Bodak Yellow” and “I Like It.” She also won the Grammy for best rap album for Invasion of Privacy, topping Pusha T, Mac Miller, Travis Scott and Nipsey Hussle. 

Back in August, Cardi promised that she was not going to release any more collaborations until she dropped her next solo single. Of course, her hit collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion, “Bongos,” dropped a month later, but Cardi insisted that she’s focused on her sophomore project.

“I’m going to put out my next solo single. Right now, I’m working on the cover art and ideas for the next record because it’s definitely coming up,” she said at the time. “Everyone always tells me I should put the record out now. Canal Street shopper and real-like scamming villain Bishop Lamor Whitehead’s fraud trial has begun, and the allegations coming out are very eyebrow-raising.

The “Bling Bishop,” who became a household name after thieves relieved him of his jewelry during a live stream of his church service, could be in serious trouble if these accusations about him are true.

The New York Daily News reports that Whitehead allegedly abused the trust of members of his flock and lied about getting “the key to the city” from Mayor Mixxy, aka Eric Adams, to make his pockets fatter and fill his closet with more than likely fugazi designer clothing like Loius Vuitton according to federal prosecutors.

A Breakdown of The N*ggler’s Fraudulent Activity Per The New York Daily News:

“During this trial, you’ll learn that the defendant was trusted by many in his community. He was the bishop of a small church in Brooklyn and a self-described businessman. He was a friend to the mayor of New York City,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica Greenwood said in Manhattan Federal Court.

“The defendant abused that trust by lying again and again. He lied about how much money he had. He lied about his business plans. And he lied about having influence with powerful people. All with the goal of getting money and property to fund his extravagant lifestyle.”

“The defendant convinced this woman, who had spent her career working as a nurse, to give him $90,000 of her life savings,” Greenwood said. “He promised to use the money to buy a fixer-upper home that he would renovate for her to live in. And she believed the defendant — a man, who by that time, had become a mentor and spiritual adviser to her son.”

Greenwood alleged Whitehead instead spent the cash on himself, including splurging on designer clothing and a BMW payment.

“The victim never got her house, and she never got her money back.”

Other Charges

In other related charges to the December 2022 case, Whitehead allegedly drew up fake bank statements to secure a $250,000 loan, claiming he had millions in a bank account that only had $6.

In another charge, he threatened the owner of a Bronx body shop, Brandon Belmonte, and allegedly tried to extort him for $5,000 following a repair job.

Whitehead also tried to get Belmonte to put his name on a $500,000 real estate deal, claiming he could get favors from Mayor Adams to make them millions.

The 47-year-old “religious figure” is being accused of wire fraud, extortion, and related offenses and is looking at a decades-long prison sentence.

He has pleaded not guilty to all charges. His attorney, Dawn Florio, asked the jurors to reserve judgment until they saw all the evidence and blamed the parishioner’s misfortunes on her son.

If this is all true, this guy sounds like the ultimate scumbag.

Jury Finds Men Accused Of Jam Master Jay’s Murder Guilty

Two men who were charged with the death of Hip-Hop icon Jam Master Jay were found guilty of his murder in federal court.

On Tuesday afternoon (February 27), a jury found Karl Jordan Jr. and Ronald Washington guilty of the murder of Jason Mizell, better known as Jam Master Jay, the DJ of the legendary Hip-Hop group Run DMC. Jam Master Jay was slain inside a recording studio on Merrick Boulevard in Jamaica, Queens on October 30, 2002. Jordan, who is the DJ’s godson, was charged with firing the fatal shot into Mizell’s head. The verdict came after three days of deliberation by the jury, who found both men guilty on all charges, bringing closure to one of the most elusive unresolved murders in Hip-Hop.

“Although it appeared the case would go cold, law enforcement never wavered in its effort to bring justice,” U.S. Attorney Breon Peace said after the verdict in a statement. “It’s no mystery why it took so long. Witnesses were terrified that they would be retaliated against if they cooperated with law enforcement.” Prosecutors had presented 35 witnesses including Jam Master Jay’s closest friends and one associate who testified to his being involved in cocaine trafficking, and two important individuals in Lydia High and Tony Rincon who witnessed the killing. High worked for Jam Master Jay’s record label and was held at gunpoint by Washington, while Rincon was shot in the leg as the two assailants ambushed him. Both had denied knowing what happened in the past, citing intimidation from Jordan and his family. “Time solved this case,” said prosecutor Mark Misorek.

The murder took place after Jordan and Washington got cut out of a deal that Jam Master Jay had arranged with a dealer in Baltimore, Maryland reportedly worth over $100,000 to distribute cocaine. Both men potentially face 20 years in prison after being convicted. Attorney General Merrick Garland had instructed prosecutors to avoid seeking the death penalty. A third man, Jay Bryant, is set to face trial in 2026. Bryant is believed to be the man who let Jordan and Washington in through a locked fire exit after he came in through the front. When asked if justice came with a price, Jam Master Jay’s cousin Ryan Thompson replied: “Yes. [I have] to answer yes because I didn’t know either until I was told. We wasn’t brought up like that. That’s not how we were raised.”

LAPD Reveals How They Busted Multimillion-Dollar Sneaker Theft Ring

Sneaker heists and robberies have become more and more common over the last few years, but with authorities taking down these sneaker theft rings, thieves may want to rethink their strategies as police are becoming wiser to the game.

Earlier this year, the LAPD busted up a sneaker theft operation that led to them recovering $5 million worth of stolen Nikes and Jordans at a stash house in LA. According to the Los Angeles Times, the people involved in the theft ring paid off people at UPS and even Nike to help them secure millions of dollars worth of stolen merchandise by having them print up fake shipping labels that would “deliberately misdirect or redirect” tons of sneakers across numerous spots in Los Angeles. And that was just the beginning.

Per the Los Angeles Times:

In the theft ring, detectives say, members would “intercept” packages with swapped labels, snatching them up somewhere along the supply chain of docks, highways and warehouses. Sometimes they would hijack packages by swapping addresses with the shipping companies after they had left Nike’s warehouse, according to Sternin’s affidavit.

Sternin said officials from Nike, which had been investigating the thefts internally, contacted the LAPD. Several emails seeking comment from Nike went unreturned.

A Memphis police sergeant working with that department’s cargo theft task force told Sternin that he had been working the case since last June, when he first became aware of “numerous unidentified co-conspirators” working at Nike’s Memphis location.

The ring has also recruited UPS employees in Tennessee and California “and possibly elsewhere within UPS and Nike supply chain network,” according to Sternin.

And we thought FedEx was doing us dirty by “losing” our sneaker shipments in the system. UPS and Nike were also out here in on a whole other kind of scheme SMH.

Ultimately, the investigation led back to one Roy Lee Harvey of Memphis. After obtaining a search warrant, authorities went through his email, iCloud data and cellphone records and found he had more than 1000 exchanges with Nike employees in Memphis, Tn., over a six-month period. Harvey was arrested Jan. 27.

While this may dissuade others from going down the same route that Harvey and his co-conspirators did, don’t think there aren’t others thinking of other ways to cash in on the sneaker market. It’s a billion dollar business with enough hypebeasts to fill a continent.

It’s only a matter of time before another sneaker bust leads to millions of dollars worth of stolen grails as this will only serve as a lesson of how to better prep for the next jux. Hopefully whatever grails you win don’t end up getting “misdirected” to another address.

Andy Reid Reveals Taylor Swift Baked Homemade Pop-Tarts for Kansas City Chiefs O-Line

This just in: The Kansas City Chiefs’ successful 2023-24 season was brought to you in part by Taylor Swift‘s baking skills.

In a recent interview, head coach Andy Reid revealed that the 34-year-old pop star baked Pop-Tarts (Taylor’s Version) for the team’s offensive line — which includes her boyfriend, tight end Travis Kelce. “Behind the scenes, she likes to cook, so she made the offensive linemen these homemade Pop-Tarts,” Big Red shared in a Tuesday (Feb. 27) clip from his appearance on Pro Football Talk.

Unfortunately for Reid, Kelce and his teammates apparently weren’t down to share Swift’s confections. “She didn’t give me one, and the offensive linemen definitely didn’t give me one,” the coach said, looking slightly miffed that he didn’t get to try one of the singer’s pastries.

The interview comes a couple of weeks after the Chiefs triumphed over the San Francisco 49ers at the 2024 Super Bowl, which Swift attended. After watching the game from a suite at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium with Blake Lively, Lana Del Rey, Ice Spice and Kelce’s family, she joined her beau on the field and celebrated his win with a passionate kiss.

Soon afterward, the 14-time Grammy winner jetted off to Australia, where she recently completed a string of Eras Tour dates in Melbourne and Sydney. Kelce joined her in the latter city for a zoo date, after which he watched one of her shows alongside Katy Perry and Rita Ora and passed out guitar picks to fans in the crowd.

Leading up to the season’s end, Swift proved to bring in a huge boost in viewership for the NFL simply by attending the Chiefs games as frequently as she did September-February. Reid has been vocal about his admiration for the musician in the past and first met her and her family when he worked for the Philadelphia Eagles way back when.

“Since the queen has passed away, she might be the most famous woman in the world,” he said of Swift on Pro Football Talk. “She’s so grounded for who she is. I think it’s a great escape for her, where she can come [to games]. She sincerely enjoys the games.”

Watch DJ Khaled’s Security Guards Carry Him to Keep His J Balvin-Designed Air Jordans Clean

Sneakerheads know the importance of going the extra mile to keep footwear spotless. Some might wear bags over their kicks in the rain, while others will spray pairs with a protective sealant.

DJ Khaled was on his way to a Miami Beach performance over the weekend and before hopping out of his custom cream-colored Mercedes-Maybach, the We The Best mogul thought twice about having his unreleased Black solar J Balvin x Air Jordan Retro 3s touch the sand.

Khaled instructed his pair of security guards to pick him up and drop him into the back of a golf cart so he wouldn’t scuff his rare Jordans, which made for a hilarious visual and a situation that all sneakerheads could relate to.

The mission was successful, as Khaled’s Jordans remained crisp and sand-free. He made sure to personally thank both members of his security team and shake their hands before taking the South Beach stage.

Being the ultimate hypeman for himself, Khaled didn’t waste a second and immediately warmed up the crowd with anthems like “All I Do Is Win.”

“Take care of them,” J Balvin wrote in DJ Khaled’s comments section regarding his sneakers.

The Air Jordan 3 “Rio” marks the Colombian superstar’s fourth collaboration with Jordan, which will reportedly hit Nike retailers and the company’s online shop May 22.

The sun-kissed sneakers are set to retail for $250. J Balvin’s 2-year-old son, Rio, inspired the design as the pair is named after him.

As for Khaled, he’s teasing a brand-new album in 2024, which will be his first since announcing his partnership with Def Jam Records last year.

Til Next Time is also slated to feature another pair of anthems with Drake, and Khaled hasn’t been shy about letting people know about his collabs with The Boy.

‘The Greatest Love Story Never Told’: How to Watch Jennifer Lopez’s Candid New Documentary for Free

Jennifer Lopez is sharing her truth.

“I used to be terrified to be alone,” Lopez reveals at the start of her Prime Video documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told.

The 54-year-old entertainer gets honest about her “20-year journey to self-love” while speaking openly about her fears of putting out another album in the new documentary premiering Tuesday (Feb. 27) on Prime Video.

“I have decided to share my story, that I’ve never shared with anybody in the world, which is the truth about my personal life,” says the mother of two.

“I’m sure people watching from the outside were like, ‘What is this girl’s problem?’” Lopez admits of her four marriages. “What I portrayed to the world was, ‘Oh this didn’t work out and it’s fine and I’m good,’ and all of that was bullsh–.”

Taking fans beyond the bright lights and glam, the documentary offers viewers a sincere look inside the making of the album and film This Is Me Now and This Is Me Now: A Love Story, alongside personal moments with her kids and husband Ben Affleck.

“There’s the personal story of Ben and I that has never been told,” Lopez says in the film. “I don’t think he’s very comfortable with me doing all of this, but he loves me. He knows I’m an artists and he’s gonna support me in every way he can. But that doesn’t mean he’s comfortable being the muse.“

Ariana Grande Says ‘Eternal Sunshine’ Tour Is ‘TBD,’ But She Does Have ‘The Itch’

Will Ariana Grande go on tour in support of her fast-approaching new album Eternal Sunshine? Even she doesn’t know for sure.

When asked during a Monday episode of The Zach Sang Show whether she plans to hit the road in support of her March 8-slated record, the 30-year-old pop star said her decision was “TBD.” “I would love to do shows, I miss being onstage,” she continued. “I miss my fans so much, that’s the honest-to-god truth.”

Grande hasn’t released an LP since 2020’s Positions, and her last trek was even longer ago: In 2019, she launched the Sweetener World Tour, which supported 2018’s Sweetener and 2019’s Thank U, Next albums. The four-month international run was documented in the “POV” singer’s Netflix film Excuse Me, I Love You.

This time around, Grande said her schedule is tied up with press commitments for the Wicked live-action films, in which she stars as Glinda opposite Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba. The Jon M. Chu-directed pair of films wrapped shooting earlier this year, and the first installment will arrive in theaters this Thanksgiving. “I had a really hard time emotionally on my last tour, but I think that’s because of where I was at,” Grande told Sang. “I’m excited to redefine my relationship to shows, when I’m ready. I do have a very busy year with this and with Wicked.

“[The tour] would obviously be shorter,” she added. “If anything, it would be a littler something. But I definitely do have the itch. I’m not ready to announce any sort of thing or get people too excited because I don’t want to disappoint.”

The Victorious alum covered a lot of ground during her 40-minute interview with Sang, which will soon be followed by a part 2. Not only did Grande call out the “thieves” who leaked her unreleased music on TikTok last year — “I’ll see you in jail, literally” she said at one point — but the vocalist also touched on her “frustration” with last year’s persistent tabloid rumors regarding her relationship with Wicked co-star Ethan Slater.

“We selectively remember that this is what the tabloids do to people, especially women, based upon if we like the person,” she said. “We don’t need to go into any specifics, but of course there’s an insatiable frustration, an inexplicable hellish feeling with watching people misunderstand the people you love, and you.”
