Karol G achieves her 27th top 10 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart as “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” debuts at No. 2 on the July 6-dated list. “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” starts at No. 2 with activity across all metrics integrated into Hot Latin Songs (airplay, streams and sales). In the July 21-27 tracking week, the song recorded 11.9 million official U.S. streams, according to Luminate. Thanks to that sum, the song opens at No. 33 on the overall Streaming Songs chart and an No. 2 on Latin Streaming Songs.

Trending on Billboard

For the remaining metrics that contribute to Hot Latin Songs, song sales and radio airplay, “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” sold 2,000 downloads in the same period for a second week atop Latin Digital Song Sales. Plus, it starts at No. 29 on the overall Latin Airplay chart with 4.1 million audience impressions.

With “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido’s” No. 2 entrance, Karol G claims her 27th top 10, and 10th unaccompanied by another artist. Her first top 10 unaccompanied by another act was the No. 5-peaking “Ay, Diso Mío” in 2020. Of her 27 top 10s, eight reached No. 1. Her most recent leader was “Qlona,” with Peso Pluma, for five weeks in 2023.

Notably, Karol and Gloria Estefan remain the only two women to debut in the top two on Hot Latin Songs with titles unaccompanied by another artist. Karol has debuted in the top two with three solo, unaccompanied songs (“Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido,” “Mi Ex Tenía Razón” and “Provenza”) and Estefan did it with “Hotel Nacional” in 2012.

Beyond Karol’s No. 2 debut on Hot Latin Songs, the merengue-based track places Karol back on the top 10 on Tropical Airplay after almost eight years, where “Conocido” rallies 18-3 in its third week. Her first and last visit to the top 10 arrived through “Casi Nada” in 2016.

Further, “Si Antes” grants Karol her 31st career entry on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100, with a No. 34 start.

Will Shaboozey Hit No. 1 on the Hot 100? Quavo & Lana Release “Tough” & More | Billboard News

Darius Rucker thinks Morgan Wallen should be forgiven, Quavo & Lana Del Rey get steamy in the release of their newest collaboration and music video, “Tough,” and more!

Tetris Kelly:

Darius Rucker thinks it’s time to forgive Morgan. Shaboozey aims for the top spot on the Hot 100 and Quavo & Lana get “Tough” and sexy. Here’s three things to know in country today.

Darius Rucker told Rolling Stone’s Music Now podcast that he thinks Morgan Wallen should be forgiven for being caught using the N word multiple times back in 2021.

Darius Rucker:

Do I think Morgan’s become a better person since that? I know Morgan Wallen since all that happened? You know, Morgan tried to really better himself and become a better person and see the world in a much better, better way.

Tetris Kelly:

Darius pointed out how Morgan didn’t get nominated for Entertainer of the Year at the CMA’s or the ACM’s, but he has broken chart records on the Hot 100 and Billboard 200 and currently holds the top spot on the Hot 100, so listeners seem to have forgiven him. Speaking of the Hot 100 Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” sits at No. 2. But could he surpass Morgan and Post Malone next week? Thanks to a huge performance where he brought out J-KWON at the BET Awards and an increase in radio play, he’s got better odds. We’ll find out for sure on Monday. Also entering the country space is Quavo. His new song with Lana Del Rey, “Tough,” not only brings the backroad vibes, they get pretty sensual in the video, too. Which country track are you bumping? Let us know in the comments.

Chet Hanks Condemns Hate Groups Using His Song ‘White Boy Summer’ for Racist Propaganda

Chet Hanks is setting the record straight about his song “White Boy Summer,” which has reportedly seen a surge in far-right extremist groups using it to promote racist propaganda in recent months.

Three years after the musician — who is the son of Oscar-winner Tom Hanks and actress Rita Wilson — released his rap track, the Global Project Against Hate and Extremism published findings that neo-Nazi organizations such as the Proud Boys, White Lives Matter and more have been using “White Boy Summer” to “spread propaganda, recruit new members, and facilitate targeted hate campaigns including acts of vandalism and hate incidents” over the past couple of months. On the song, Chet raps, “Rude boy, it’s a white boy summer, bad gyal, white don dada,” mimicking a Jamaican accent.

In response to the report, Chet has taken to Instagram to firmly and concisely distance himself from anyone using his music to promote racism. “White boy summer was created to be fun, playful, and a celebration of fly white boys who love beautiful queens of every race,” he wrote Wednesday (July 3), one day after the research was published. “Anything else that it has been twisted into to support any kind of hate or bigotry against any group of people is deplorable and I condemn it.”

Trending on Billboard

“I hope that we all can spread love to each other and treat each other with kindness and dignity,” he added.

GPAHE has now updated its article with Chet’s statement, but cautions: “The fact remains that [the song] has been co-opted by far-right extremists to promote hate and bigotry. This underscores the profound social responsibility … for those with powerful platforms to remain vigilant against irresponsible statements that can be used for tools of hate and division.”

Though extremist interpretations of the song seem to have reached a new high this year, Chet’s latest post isn’t the first time he’s felt the need to clarify his intentions behind “White Boy Summer.” “I’m not talking about Trump, NASCAR-type white,” he said in a video posted a couple weeks before the track dropped. “I’m talking about, you know, me, Jon B, Jack Harlow-type white boy summer.”

That didn’t hate groups from co-opting the song in the months that followed its release, however, according to similar reports from around that time.

The GPAHE’s report and Chet’s response come a couple months after the latter made headlines for a much lighter reason; in May, his famous father texted him to ask for an explanation of Drake’s incendiary rap battle with Kendrick Lamar, screenshots of which the younger Hanks posted online. “Holy cow!” the Forrest Gump star texted his son after Chet filled him in. “These are fighting words. People taking sides?? Who’s winning??”

50 Cent Can’t Believe Today’s Ice Cream Truck Prices: ‘What Happened to $1.25?’

Inflation has left holes in everyone’s pockets, and even multimillionaires like 50 Cent are feeling the effects.

50 went to buy a treat from a local ice cream truck in his neighborhood and he couldn’t believe some of the dessert prices in today’s society.

“I jumped out and went to an ice cream truck today and saw this WTF ! what happened to $1.25 this can’t be right,” he wrote.

The G-Unit mogul posted a photo of the truck’s menu, featuring various character ice cream treats like Spider-Man and SpongeBob as well as strawberry shortcakes and flavorful ice pops ranging from $4 to $5.

“I remember when they was 50 Cent,” a fan quipped in his comments section, while another offered up a solution. “Might as well buy the whole box at the store.”

It’s unclear if 50 Cent ended up purchasing an ice cream, or perhaps the petty “Candy Shop” rapper bailed on the transaction altogether out of spite.

Back in 2022, 50 basked in the nostalgia of hearing the ice cream truck’s jingle in his Queens neighborhood but how horrible it felt when he had no money to buy anything.

“I will never forget the excitement of the ice cream truck is coming growing up, but when there was no money that was the worst s–t,” he wrote to X with a photo of a Mister Softee truck.
