The Kendrick Lamar Effect? : Drake Booed At Limp Bizkit Concert In Toronto

Drake found out that not everyone loves him the 6.

Could this be the after-effects of his battle and loss to Kendrick Lamar?

Spotted on TMZ Hip Hop, Drizzy did not get a hometown greeting by locals attending a Limp Bizkit concert in his hometown of Toronto.

The proud Canadian was showered with boos when Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst announced to the crowd that the OVO General was in the building.

Per TMZ Hip Hop:

Limp Bizkit was performing in Toronto Thursday night — prodding their local audience with the mere mention of Drizzy’s name as a guest in attendance … and it didn’t get over well at all, as the crowd booed the hell of him.

The video never shows Drake appear onstage … but they definitely weren’t happy to hear he was in the building — which left Fred Durst absolutely speechless.

He questioned the hate, saying … “I thought Drake was your homie? What? No? Drake’s my homie.”

The celebrity gossip site reports the boos got even more aggressive, and f-bombs could be heard as Durst continued talking about Drake before going into his next song, “Take a Look Around,” which he dedicated to the 6 God.

To his credit, Drake has been taking his L in stride.

He is still showing up places, dropping new music, and posting on social media at his regular rate.

So if he’s hurting on the inside, he isn’t showing it at all, but we would have to imagine being booed in your hometown stings a lot.

Welp.

We are sure Kendrick Lamar is somewhere laughing at Drake’s current misfortunes.

At least Drake can count on DJ Akademiks to be on his side when it’s all said and done.

Next to the release of the NFL schedule, learning who will join Madden NFL’s exclusive 99 club and the ratings of star players in the league have become yearly significant events. Like last year, a receiver is the first player to land in the prestigious club.

The first name announced joining Madden NFL 25’s 99 Club is none other than the Cheetah, Miami Dolphins’ speedy wideout Tyreek Hill.

With the announcement, Hill became the first Dolphins player ever to earn the honor.

Last year, Minnesota Vikings star receiver Justin Jefferson got the 99 Club party started this year, so it was only right that Hill got the honor.

Jefferson’s rating took a 1-point hit this year; he is 98, still pretty high, but we are sure he feels he also believes he should still be in the 99 Club.

The Madden NFL official X account shared a video of Hill receiving a briefcase featuring his custom gold chain and custom Xbox Elite controller and a video from Eli Manning welcoming him to the 99 Club.

Also, just like the previous year, EA Sports has launched an official website where you can check the ratings as they are released.

They also revealed the top receivers and safeties in the game.

Wide Receivers                                                                                    Safeties

  1. Tyreek Hill (99 OVR)                                                 1. Jessie Bates III (97 OVR)
  2. Justin Jefferson (98 OVR)                                         2. Antoine Winfield Jr.  (94 OVR)
  3. Ceedee Lamb (96 OVR)                                           3. Minkah Fitzpatrick (93 OVR)
  4. A.J. Brown (95 OVR)                                                4. Derwin James Jr. (91 OVR)
  5. Amon-Ra St. Brown (95 OVR)                                 5. Tyrann Mathieu (91 OVR)
  6. Davante Adams (94 OVR)                                       6. Budda Baker (90 OVR)
  7. Ja’Marr Chase (93 OVR)                                         7. Kevin Byard III (89 OVR)
  8. Stefon Diggs (92 OVR)                                            8. Kyle Hamilton (89 OVR)
  9. Brandon Aiyuk (91 OVR)                                          9. Talanoa Hufanga (88 OVR)
  10. Mike Evans (91 OVR)                                              10. Jevon Holland (88 OVR)

EA Sports will team with ESPN to roll out 99 Club members throughout the week and will share that news with you as its announced.

Once Again, It’s Arguing Time

Of course, like every year, there are reactions to these ratings. Some are stunned that Hill is the first Dolphins player to make it in the club.

First ever is wild seeing that Marino, Jason Taylor, and Zach Thomas,” one person on X, formerly Twitter, wrote.

Another user wrote, “Stefon Diggs rated too high (based on age and canyon of a drop off last year), Jamar Chase rated too low. Jefferson probably deserves 99 based on how he dominated consistently even after missing a big chunk of the season last year.”

We only expect the discourse to get louder when other positions are revealed.

If we had to guess who would be in there, we think Patrick Mahomes will end up in the 99 Club.

You can see more reactions in the gallery below.

The Funny Girl actress recently appeared on Katherine Schwarzenegger’s podcast BDA Baby, where she shared that the process of conception was “completely not what [they] expected” and that she had “two back-to-back very early failed pregnancies.”

She continued, “I had never had a miscarriage before. The first one, I was like, ‘That was weird.’ When it happened again right away, I was like, ‘Wait a second. Something is wrong.’”

Michele then explained that she and her husband stopped trying to conceive while she was starring in Funny Girl on Broadway. “It wasn’t until a little bit later [that] I had another [loss]. I was working at the time. It was super challenging to…process what we were experiencing at the same time, which was very painful,” she shared, before noting that she ultimately received an endometriosis diagnosis. She took “so many drugs and medications and [got] one thousand shots,” and ultimately got pregnant.

The Glee actress revealed that she is pregnant back in March with a sweet Instagram post. In the pictures, Michele — who is already Mom to 3-year-old son Ever Leo — posed with a silky white shawl draped over her shoulders, cradling her baby bump as it peeks through the fabric.

“Mommy, Daddy and Ever are overjoyed,” she captioned the post. Michele and Reich tied the knot in 2019. The couple became first-time parents the next year, welcoming Ever in August 2020.

Yeah Boyee: Flava Flav Supports & Cheers On The USA Water Polo Teams At The Summer Olympics

HipHopWired Featured Video

Paris 2024 Olympic Games - Previews

Flava Flav has lived a life that spans decades marked with extreme highs and some requisite lows but life is certainly sweet for who is arguably Hip-Hop’s best hype man. The founding member of the famed Public Enemy collective is in Paris to support the USA Water Polo teams, sparked by his passion for being a girl dad and wanting to elevate women in sports.

As reported by the Associated Press, Flava Flav, 65, is enjoying his first time experiencing the Olympics in person after years of watching the games on television. His enthusiasm and million-dollar smile have been hard to avoid for anyone observing the USA Water Polo teams, most specifically the women’s group.

From the AP:

Flav, a founding member of the hip-hop group Public Enemy, is in Paris as part of his duties as the official hype man for USA Water Polo — a partnership that came together after he connected with U.S. captain Maggie Steffens on Instagram in May.

The 65-year-old Flav is embracing his new responsibilities with his usual brand of seemingly boundless enthusiasm.

“I’m so ready, man. … I’m so hype right now about this sport,” said Flav, wearing a custom USA Water Polo clock around his neck. “I wish I was playing it. I’m hyping myself up right now to ask them to let me on the team.”

The outlet goes on to add that Flava Flav reached out to Maggie Steffens on social media after learning about how the team has struggled financially. Flav offered to sponsor the team, sparking the partnership. As seen in the report, Flav will work with USA Water Polo for five years while using his fame to bring visibility to the sport. It should be noted that the women’s water polo team has brought home the gold medal in the past three Summer Olympics.

Adding to this, Flav’s work with the team is bringing the sport into the homes of Black families as they learn about the little-known sport. One member of the team, Ashleigh Johnson, who is the first Black member of the water polo Olympics team, added that Flav’s work is spreading to those communities and beyond.

In sad news, Steffens is currently mourning the loss of her sister-in-law and artist Lulu Conner, the sister of her husband, Bobby Conner. Ms. Conner designed the custom clock that Flava Flav has been wearing for the games, as reported by PEOPLE.

Details are scant but Steffens confirmed it was a medical emergency.
