Oasis 2025 UK Reunion Tour: Everything You Need To Know About Snagging Tickets

First the good news: if you have any fantasy of snagging tickets to Oasis‘ 2025 UK reunion tour now is the time to act. Since famously battling brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher shocked the world this week by announcing that they have put their legendary differences in the past for the comeback nobody thought was possible, anticipation for the on-sale for the run of shows across the British Isles has exploded.

And, today (August 28) is the day for the fans who have been digging out their anoraks and Adidas track suits as they freak out over reliving their 1990s Britpop heydays. Registration for the pre-sale ticket ballot is open now and will remain open through 7 p.m. BST (2 p.m. ET) before the proper pre-sale begins on Friday (August 30), followed by a general on-sale on Saturday (August 31). Fans hoping to get in on the early sale must fill out a form with their contact details and answer a general knowledge quiz about the band aimed at beating the bots.

Trending on Billboard

Upon filling out the general details, fans will be led to a screen that reads: “Hate touts? Please help us keep this fair and fan-focused by answering the following series of questions.” And though they don’t have any bearing on whether the ballot will be accepted, the questions include, “How many Oasis shows have you been to?,” “Who was the drummer in the initial Oasis line-up?” and “Where would you like to see Oasis?”

Given the intense interest in the shows, a final message notes that due to the “extremely high volume of entries” confirmation emails may be delayed. All successful ballot entrants will receive their code by noon BST Friday (7 a.m. ET); if you don’t get a code your application was not successful. Those lucky fans who do get a code can claim only one and the small print notes that the codes have no cash value and are “non-transferable, case-sensitive and good for one-time use only for limited tickets during pre-sale window.” The code has to be used with the email address that it was originally sent to.

The ticket limit for the shows are four per person and only tickets purchased through approved agents will be valid. A not-specified, limited number of tickets will be available in the pre-sale window for all successful pre-sale ballot entrants on a first come, first served basis, with no guarantee that successful pre-sale ballot entrants will be able to buy tickets to any of the dates using their code.

The rules also note that ticket resale is permitted at “no more than the price you paid (face value + booking fees),” with a warning that the only approved resale partners are Ticketmaster and www.twickets.live, with sales made through unauthorized platforms possibly leading to the tickets being cancelled.

At press time there was no official confirmation on ticket prices for the 14 announced shows, though the BBC reported that the costs for GA, as well as Platinum and VIP, will be announced on Thursday (August 29).

After calling it quits more than 15 years ago due to tension between singer Liam Gallagher and the band’s musical fountainhead, guitarist/singer Noel Gallagher, the battling brothers announced on Tuesday that they would be hitting the road for a series of 14 stadium dates in Cardiff, their hometown of Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin next summer. So far no other international dates for Oasis Live 25 have been announced, but a press release promised that “plans are underway for Oasis Live 25 to go to other continents outside of Europe later next year.”

Mattel Releases Signature Barbie Honoring Juan Gabriel: Here’s Where You Can Buy the Doll Online

Calling all Barbie fans! Mattel is celebrating the legendary Mexican singer-songwriter and actor Juan Gabriel with a signature Barbie doll ahead of Hispanic Heritage Month.

The doll commemorates the six-time Grammy nominee’s nearly four-decade career, which includes the release of more than 30 studio albums and 1,500 composed songs, highlighting his influence as one of Latin America’s most significant musical figures. Gabriel’s greatest hits, known for their heartfelt ballad style, include “No Tengo Dinero,” “Abrázame Muy Fuerte,” “Amor Eterno” and “Siempre En Mi Mente.”

To honor Gabriel’s music and career, the Barbie Signature Juan Gabriel Doll ($55) dazzles with a mic in her hand and a glittering bolero jacket, drawing inspiration from the outfit Gabriel wore during his iconic 1990 performance at Mexico City’s El Palacio de Bellas Artes. Gabriel expressed his love and appreciation for his Mexican culture not just through his music, but also through his attire, often wearing mariachi suits with gold accents onstage — just like the Barbie’s outfit.

For those inspired by his legacy, the doll serves as a collaboration that pays tribute to the extraordinary artistry of this beloved music icon.

Fans have been anxiously waiting for the doll’s release, with one Reddit user writing, “Excuse me while I pick my jaw up off the floor. I am absolutely blown away by this Barbie. I love the darker hues… which we haven’t seen before.” Another Reddit user described the doll as “beautiful.”

Mattel’s Signature Doll inspired by Juan Gabriel will be available at Amazon, Walmart, Target and Mattel Shop starting Wednesday (Aug. 28).

Jeremy Allen White Says Bruce Springsteen ‘Really Supportive’ of ‘Deliver Me From Nowhere’ Biopic: ‘The Greatest Guy’

Not every actor who steps into the well-worn jeans of a global rock icon has quite so much footage to review when prepping for a role. Luckily for The Bear star Jeremy Allen White, Bruce Springsteen has been playing three hour-plus shows for more than 50 years, so the tape library is voluminous.

Which explains why in a new interview with GQ, the actor said that a lot of his prep for the upcoming Springsteen biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere has involved hours and hours of video study. “There’s just so much footage,” said White. “It’s really great to go down a YouTube rabbit hole and find him at all these different periods in his life and be able to listen to his speaking voice as well as his singing voice. That’s kind of been the deal, just listening to him a lot and watching him a lot. It’s been really fun preparing.”

The 33-year-old actor — now around the same age Springsteen was when he released his sixth album, 1982’s stripped-down Nebraska — said he’s also very lucky that are vocal coaches around now who can help people like him, or Timothée Chalamet (who will play Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown), hone in on the vocal quirks and crannies of the world’s most famous singers while prepping for films about their lives.

Trending on Billboard

“I’ve got a really talented group of people helping me train vocally, musically, to get ready for this thing,” said White. “I’m also really lucky [that] Bruce is really supportive of the film, and so I’ve had some access to him and he’s just the greatest guy.” Plus, the Calvin Klein model who has set hearts aflutter with his ab-tastic Calvin Klein ads, said that even though we’ve not really heard his take on the New Jersey icon’s legendarily gruff vocal timbre, like Springsteen, he is a “jeans and T-shirt kind of guy. It was exciting to know going into this thing that we had at least that in common.”

Deliver Me From Nowhere will tell the story behind the making of Nebraska, a stark collection of character studies that followed up Springsteen’s sprawling 1980 double album, The River, which contained some of The Boss’ most beloved live staples, including the singles “Hungry Heart,” “Fade Away,” “Sherry Darling,” the title track and “Cadillac Ranch.” The movie will be directed by Scott Cooper (Black Mass, Antlers), with a release date and supporting cast not yet announced.

‘Live Forever’: Oasis’s Career By the Numbers

Oasis are reuniting in 2025 for a tour that promises to make dreams come true for hordes of fans around the globe.

If you lived in the U.K. in the 1990s, a time when rave culture collided with indie and Britpop, Oasis was a force to be reckoned with. Record and ticket sales, newspaper column inches, Oasis hogged all of it.

When Noel and Liam Gallagher, the combative Manchester siblings, called time on their band in 2009, they walked away with an impeccable chart record.

All seven of Oasis’ studio albums went to No. 1 on the Official U.K. Albums Chart, from their 1994 debut Definitely Maybe through to 2005’s Don’t Believe The Truth. A year after the split, in 2010, the compilation Time Flies – 1994-2009 hit the summit, giving Oasis eight leaders.

Trending on Billboard

The manner in which the group dominated the national tally is worth exploring.

Definitely Maybe became the fastest-selling debut album in British history – and has passed 5 million sales in the U.K., where it’s 17-times platinum certified, according to the Official Charts Company.

Their sophomore effort from 1995, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?, is the fifth best-selling album of all time in the U.K.

And their third record, 1997’s Be Here Now, was a weapon. To this day, it’s the fastest-selling album of all time, shifting 696,000 copies in just three days of its first chart week.

It’s a similar tale on the Official U.K. Singles Chart, on which Oasis landed eight No. 1s.

“Wonderwall,” their signature song, is not one of them. The most-streamed song in Oasis’ catalog in the U.K., with 397,100,000 plays, according to the OCC, “Wonderwall” peaked at No. 2 on the weekly chart back in 1995.

That domination extended to awards ceremonies, as Oasis snagged six BRIT Awards, including the Outstanding Contribution to British Music, two Ivor Novellos, and 17 NME Awards.

The group enjoyed success around the globe, including Australia, where “Wonderwall” came in at No. 1 on triple j’s Hottest 100 songs of the past 20 years, which counted down in 2013, and was voted No. 1 on the “Hottest 100” for 1995.

“Wonderwall” spent 11 consecutive weeks in the ARIA Top 10, and is certified 12-times platinum in these parts, ARIA reports.

(What’s the Story) Morning Glory? is certified eight-times platinum in Australia, having clocked up four consecutive weeks at No. 1 and 24 consecutive weeks in the top 10.

Be Here Now is platinum certified, and one of the band’s six top 10 efforts on the ARIA Chart.

Oasis’s blockbuster success didn’t translate in the United States. Just three Oasis songs impacted the Billboard Hot 100, including a single top 10 for “Wonderwall” (peaking at No. 8 in 1996).

On the Billboard 200 albums chart, 11 Oasis titles have made their mark, including three top 10s, with a No. 2 best for Be Here Now in 1997.

Oasis will make their long-overdue comeback in 2025, when the band performs a run of concerts in the U.K. and Ireland, their first dates there in 16 years.

The OASIS LIVE ’25 world tour will stretch out. “Plans are underway for OASIS LIVE ’25 to go to other continents outside of Europe later next year,” reads a statement, issued Tuesday morning.

The news has lit the fuse with Oasis’ long-suffering fans in the U.K., proof of which can be seen on the midweek albums chart.

Oasis will “no doubt see a huge surge in sales this week,” according to the charts compiler, as three records get set to blast into the top 40: Time Flies… (1994-2009) (at No. 14), (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? (at No. 26) and Definitely Maybe (No. 31), which celebrates its 30th anniversary this week.

BMG CEO Says Digital Distribution Changes Are ‘Paying Off’ as Company Reports 11% Revenue Gain

BMG CEO Thomas Coesfeld says taking his company’s digital distribution in-house and operational changes — two initiatives launched during his first year at the helm — are paying off.

The Berlin-based music company reported on Wednesday (Aug. 28) that it generated 459 million euros ($491.7 million) in revenue in the first half of 2024, marking an 11.1% increase from the year-ago period thanks to strong growth in digital income streams. Digital revenue, which contributed nearly 70% of BMG’s overall revenue for the period, rose 20.3% in the first half 2024 compared to 2023, as BMG exited a contract with Warner Music Group (WMG) and moved oversight of its digital distribution business in-house.

“This move is paying off,” Coesfeld tells Billboard of taking control of BMG’s 80-billion stream digital business. BMG now has greater insight into its streaming data, which enables it to provide “better marketing insights, more timely campaigning and iterations of that campaign [and] better tools around fandom” to its artists, who include Jelly Roll, Kylie Minogue and Mustard, Coesfeld says. Also, BMG saves money not paying fees to WMG’s ADA.

Trending on Billboard

“One or two years ago we had this plan, we said this is what will happen,” Coesfeld adds. “And [these earnings] show it works.”

BMG’s first-half organic revenues grew by 12.5% while operating earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) — a closely watched measure of growth — rose by 35.5% to 122 million euros ($130.7 million). EBITDA margin was 26.5%, up from 21.7% in the first six months of 2023. BMG’s catalogs again underpinned that margin figure, as the company acquired 10 catalogs during the first half of the year. Details of those deals were not disclosed.

The close of the first six months of 2024 coincided with the end of Coesfeld’s first year as CEO. After taking the reins of BMG from longtime CEO Hartwig Masuch on July 1, 2023, Coesfeld has set a tone that communicates BMG is open to change, even if it means taking advantage of artificial intelligence and collaboration with historic rivals.

“We figured only if we anticipate trends a little earlier do we have a chance to win in this very competitive market,” Coesfeld says. “We are looking at a fundamentally attractive market that is growing. It is driven by tech and if we adopt it and don’t fight it there is huge opportunity for BMG and artists.”

One example of this approach is BMG’s partnership with a generative AI lab at Munich’s Technical University, through which they have successfully launched a pilot program that uses gen-AI to market BMG’s deep catalog. Students at the lab generated short videos that have proven to be more cost efficient and effective at getting the audience to engage with the music.

Last fall, BMG also began a structural reorganization that included letting go of around 40 employees. It was a “tough period… but a business necessity” and part of a broader strategy meant to help the company respond quickly to industry trends, Coesfeld says.

“The operational changes, which we enacted — digital distribution, better able to monetize our repertoire and catalogs and our reorg, which is complete, is making us way more agile and faster in delivering our service and making decisions,” he adds. “We are much more agile on a day-to-day.”

On Aug. 27, P!nk gave fans a glimpse behind the scenes by sharing footage from her Summer Carnival Tour on social media.

The post included a candid moment before the Aug. 22 DNC performance, where P!nk offered her daughter some supportive advice: “Just do your thing. Whatever you don’t sing, I will.” With those words, the two stepped out to deliver a powerful duet.

Their performance followed emotional speeches from parents and students addressing the tragic impact of gun violence in U.S. schools.

P!nk began the song with the lyrics, “We are searchlights, we can see in the dark,” setting the stage for Willow to join in with her verse: “We are billions of beautiful hearts, and you sold us down the river too far.” Accompanied by three backup singers and an acoustic guitar, the mother-daughter pair delivered a performance that stood out on a night filled with notable musical acts.

This isn’t the first time Willow has joined her mother on stage. In 2023, the duo performed “Cover Me in Sunshine” during the opening night of P!nk’s Summer Carnival Tour.

The “Raise Your Glass” singer has often expressed her pride in Willow’s talents, telling People, “She’s got a voice, man. She’s a little bird. She wants to do Broadway and then be a trauma surgeon. Yeah, she’s rad.”

The final night of the DNC also featured performances by The Chicks, Stevie Wonder, and John Legend. Vice President Kamala Harris closed the event by accepting the Democratic nomination for president.

However, the chart battle is far from over. Following their much-anticipated reunion announcement, Oasis is experiencing a resurgence that could shake up the rankings.

The Gallagher brothers’ iconic band has three albums set to re-enter the Top 40 this week: their former chart-leading greatest hits compilation Time Flies… (1994-2009) at No. 14, the legendary (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? at No. 26, and their seminal debut Definitely Maybe, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, at No. 31.

With the hype surrounding their reunion tour, these albums are expected to climb even higher as the week progresses, making Oasis a strong contender in this week’s chart race.

Irish rockers Fontaines D.C. are also on fire with their new release, Romance, which is on track to debut in the Top 10, marking their fourth consecutive album to achieve this milestone in the U.K.

Travis Scott’s Days Before Rodeo is set to debut in the Top 10 at No. 6 after its release on streaming platforms for the first time. Meanwhile, country star Lainey Wilson is on track to secure her first U.K. Top 10 album with Whirlwind, reflecting the growing influence of country music across the pond.

Louis Tomlinson’s LIVE album, featuring recordings from his 2024 Faith In The Future and world tour shows, is expected to debut just outside the Top 10 at No. 11, adding yet another achievement to the former One Direction member’s solo career. Alt-pop artist Cassyette is also making a notable entry, with her debut album This World Fucking Sucks on track to debut at No. 22.

With Sabrina Carpenter leading the pack and Oasis making a strong comeback, this week’s U.K. Official Albums Chart is shaping up to be an exciting race to the finish.

Can Sabrina maintain her lead and claim the No. 1 spot, or will the legendary Oasis surge ahead? The countdown to the top continues.

Golden Buzzer Sends Dee Dee Simon to ‘AGT’ Finals After ‘Lose Control’ Performance

Dee Dee Simon made a lasting impression during the Quarterfinals of America’s Got Talent 2024 with her high-energy performance of “Lose Control” by Teddy Swims.

The Oakland nurse, who has been balancing her day job with her passion for music, delivered a standout performance on Aug. 27 that not only had the judges on their feet but also earned her a direct ticket to the finals thanks to Heidi Klum’s Golden Buzzer.

From the start, Dee Dee brought an exciting energy to the stage as she wowed the crowd with her vocal brilliance. Halfway through the song, she kicked off her shoes, letting the moment take over as she poured her heart into the performance. The judges couldn’t help but take notice.

“You knocked your shoes off. You knocked my shoes off,” Howie Mandel said, nodding to Dee Dee’s spontaneous decision to perform barefoot. “You made the song your own, and you were amazing.”

Simon Cowell, never one to hold back his opinion, was hugely impressed by the powerhouse performance, saying, “This is what it’s all about—someone who isn’t a full-time singer seizes the moment and shows the world who they are. Dee Dee, I think you’ve got a real shot at winning this competition.”

Sofia Vergara, clearly impressed, added, “This was your lane, and you took control of it. This performance topped your audition—you’re a star tonight.”

But it was Heidi Klum who sealed the deal. “Dee Dee, your voice has such a rich tone, and you look stunning tonight. But I felt like something was missing—like a sparkly belt, a sparkly ring, something gold,” Klum said, just before she hit the Golden Buzzer, sending the singer straight to the finals amid a shower of golden confetti.

“My stomach was talking to me, and you were the best tonight—you’re amazing!”

As the confetti fell, Dee Dee stood in disbelief, thanking the crowd and the judges. “Oh my God, thank you so much, America. I love you.”

“Lose Control,” the song Dee Dee performed, has been a major hit for Teddy Swims. The track debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2023 and climbed to No. 1 in March this year. It would go on to stay on the chart for a whopping 54 weeks.

The competition may be tough, but with this performance and the Golden Buzzer, Dee Dee Simon has positioned herself as a serious contender for the AGT 2024 title.

Warner Music Japan Appoints Dr. Kenji Kitatani as Chairman

Warner Music Japan has appointed Dr. Kenji Kitatani to the resurrected role of chairman of the label division, effective immediately. Dr. Kitatani will work closely with WMJ’s longtime president and CEO, Kazuyuki “Kaz” Kobayashi, to boost the company’s presence in the globe’s No. 2 music market.

Dr. Kitatani currently holds the title of chairman of DAZN Japan, a sports streaming platform, and he regularly writes for Forbes Japan and is a professor and director at the Institute for Content and Technology Integration at Kanazawa Institute of Technology. (His priors in academia also include faculty roles at Washington State University and Indiana University.) In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he held senior executive roles at Sony Corporation and between 2011 and 2017 acted as president of Avex International Holdings, the country’s largest independent music entertainment conglomerate.

Following his time at Avex Inc., Dr. Kitatani became executive vp of Asia and executive director for Japan at AEG, leaving in late 2021 before taking up a bevy of advisory roles at companies including Mitsubishi, NTTdocomo, InnoCan Pharma and FM Tokyo, among others.

Trending on Billboard

“I am delighted to welcome Dr Kenji Kitatani to Warner Music and am pleased that such a distinguished executive has agreed to take on this challenge,” said Kobayashi. “We’ve achieved a lot in the last decade at Warner Music Japan, but our industry never stands still and we need to continue to adapt if we are to keep being the first choice for our country’s most exciting artists.”

Though technically not replacing anyone as chairman of Warner Music Japan, Dr. Kitatani is not the first executive to hold the vaulted title. The last person to occupy the position was industry veteran Kei Ishizaka, Kobayashi’s predecessor as CEO until Ishizaka’s departure in 2014.

“This is an exciting time in the Japanese music industry,” said Kitatani. “I am delighted to take up this new role at Warner Music, working with Kaz on the continuing evolution of the company as we build the most forward-thinking label in the Japanese market.”

10 Best Moments of the Girls Aloud Reunion

Modestly titled The Girls Aloud Show, the reunion tour for Girls Aloud has been one of the most anticipated music events of the year for pop fans worldwide, marking a powerful and emotional return to the stage for the beloved U.K. girl group. The outing is the band’s first since disbanding in 2013 and their first time together since the tragic loss of bandmate Sarah Harding, who died from breast cancer in 2021.

With multiple Guinness World Records for chart dominance on The Official U.K. Singles Chart, Girls Aloud has solidified their place in British pop music history. Yet, the years following their breakup allowed personal feuds, mainly between Cheryl, Kimberly Walsh and Nicola Roberts on one side against Nadine Coyle on the other. However, Harding’s death served as a catalyst for reconciliation, with one of her final wishes to bring the women back together as bandmates and friends willing to put the past behind them.

Following the reconciliation and subsequent tour announced at the end of 2023, The Girls Aloud Show tour has grossed $19.1 million from 200,000 fans filling arenas across the 20 dates reported so far to Billboard Boxscore. But beyond the numbers, the real impact of The Girls Aloud Show lies in the heartfelt moments that have defined this reunion.

From emotional tributes to Harding in the show, where the group paused to honor their late friend with tearful speeches and a poignant video montage, to a reimagined Pride concert in August that celebrated the LGBTQ+ community with vibrancy and love, the tour has been a testament to the enduring bond between these women, their fans and the critically acclaimed music from their seven LPs together.

Beyond the celebration, the tour also helped bring awareness and donations to the Sarah Harding Breast Cancer Appeal created by her bandmates in April 2023. As one of Sarah’s parting wishes, the foundation developed the Breast Cancer Risk Assessment in Young Women to find new ways to spot the disease. With its second phase of research funded by initiatives in place during the tour, the show also marked a way to honor Harding beyond the stage.

As Girls Aloud take their final bow this month, the members leave behind a legacy not just of chart-topping hits, but of resilience, forgiveness and the power of friendship. The Girls Aloud reunion felt like more than a comeback; it was a celebration of life, great pop music and the memory of a superstar friend who will never be forgotten.

Read on for the best moments from the reunion.
