Zach Bryan Deactivates X Account After Kanye West/ Taylor Swift Tweet

After backlash to a spicy tweet about Ye and Taylor Swift, Zach Bryan has deactivated his X account.

On Wednesday (Sept. 18), the country star shared a hot take that might have proven to be too hot for social media. “eagles > chiefs,” his message started, followed by, “Kanye > Taylor.” He concluded: “who’s with me” — and the answer to that question appears to have driven him off the site formerly known as Twitter.

Swifties quickly came to Taylor’s defense, given Bryan’s message was a twofold offense against both Swift and her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. “He knew not to mess with the Swifties,” one commenter wrote on a Pop Crave post about the tweet, with another writing: “got all brave just to wimp out and deactivate.”

According to Bryan’s Instagram (which is still active), he’s been on a Kanye kick lately. The first four of his current Instagram Stories, as of press time, feature four older songs by Ye (formerly Kanye West): “Good Life,” featuring T-Pain, from 2007’s Graduation and “I Thought About Killing You,” “All Mine” and “Ghost Town,” featuring PARTYNEXTDOOR, from 2018’s Ye.

Trending on Billboard

The Eagles and Chiefs football rivalry has heated up over the past few years, with Travis Kelce facing off against his now-retired brother Jason Kelce and the Philly squad in the 2023 Super Bowl, with Kansas City emerging victorious.

But the much more heated rivalry has been between Swift and Ye, whose story began when West interrupted Taylor’s 2009 VMAs acceptance speech to declare Beyoncé should have won instead. They reconciled after that and even formed an unlikely friendship, before Ye put some questionable lyrics about Swift in his “Famous” song and his then-wife Kim Kardashian released a recording of a private phone call between the two musicians that set their rocky relationship ablaze.

The pair have made references to their famous feud as recently as last month, with Ye rapping about Swift’s relationship with Kelce on his Vultures 2 album and Swift restyling a Tortured Poets Department song’s title to capitalize YE: “thank You aimEe.”

While she was able to get to have options like abortion for her pregnancy, Duvall warned that due to Roe v. Wade having been revoked, young women can no longer get the care they need, even when the pregnancy is die to incest or rape.

Eilish’s recognizable chorus is heard as Harris approves the message.

Earlier in the day, Eilish and her brother Finneas voiced their support for Harris. “We are voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz because they are fighting to protect our reproductive freedom, our planet and our democracy,” the “Bad Guy” singer says in a clip posted to social media.

“We can’t let extremists control our lives, our freedoms and our future,” Finneas continues. “The only way to stop them and the dangerous Project 2025 agenda is to vote and elect Kamala Harris.”

The pair also shared a link where fans can check their registration status ahead of election day on Nov. 5. “Vote like your life depends on it,” Eilish adds in the clip. “Because it does.”

“When people are listening to this project, they’re really witnessing me reconnect with my roots,” she explained. “I learned how to rap through boom bap beats, through classic beats. My first rap that I ever made was a diss track.”

The 26-year-old then revealed that she taught herself how to rap “through battle-style rapping” and talked about how sobriety has helped her remember why she fell in love with the genre in the first place. “With me kinda coming back to myself — I’m recently completely sober: no nicotine, no alcohol, no smoking, no nothing — I just kinda re-fell in love with Hip-Hop, and I realized that there is a sense of tradition in Hip-Hop that I really want to represent and bring back.”

She added, “There is importance in tradition. I feel like it is important for us to uphold the heart of Hip-Hop, which is lyrical composition, it is skill, it is wittiness, but it is also talking about our feelings, being honest about what we’re going through and connecting us as people.

“I feel like, especially in the time of an economic recession, people need to feel things right now and we need to talk about it. And we need to do it through rap, which is why I chose the sonical direction that I chose.I wanna take us back to this classic space in Hip-Hop and just remind people of the traditional roots of where this started — and do it in my way and push it forward.”

The Florida native recently announced the Alligator Bites Never Heal Tour with the first date being Friday, Oct. 11 in Atlanta.

Juan Gabriel’s Iconic Concert ‘Mis 40 en Bellas Artes’ to Be Screened at Mexico City’s Zócalo

The music of the late Mexican superstar Juan Gabriel will resonate in Mexico City’s Zócalo on Sunday (September 22), when his concert Mis 40 en Bellas Artes is projected at a free event organized by the capital’s Secretary of Culture.

“After the cancellation of the second screening at the Cineteca Nacional scheduled for September 14, the city government, committed to cultural access, is offering the country’s most important plaza and stage so that more people can enjoy this memorable concert in a festive and family-friendly environment to continue the patriotic celebrations,” announced the Secretary of Culture in a statement on Wednesday (September 18).

A screening of the aforementioned concert by the Divo de Juárez, organized by Universal Music, left hundreds of people outside the Cineteca Nacional on Friday (September 13) after the number of attendees exceeded the expectations of the organizers. A second screening scheduled for the following Saturday (September 14) had to be canceled as the venue could not accommodate the large crowd.

Trending on Billboard

The organizers estimated that about 6,000 people arrived at the Cineteca Nacional last Friday to attend the event. Videos on social media show a large number of attendees who were left outside the venue, dancing and singing at the top of their lungs to the songs included in the concert — released by Virgin Music — undeterred by the rain that covered much of the city that afternoon.

“The turnout surpassed the historical attendance record set by Queen and the ‘Rock Montreal’ screening at the Rock Festival in the Cineteca Nacional,” the organizers said in a statement.

Mis 40 en Bellas Artes is one of the most iconic concerts that Juan Gabriel performed to celebrate his four decades of artistic career in August 2013, accompanied by the International Orchestra of the Arts and its choir. It features great hits from his discography, such as “Caray,” “He Venido a Pedirte Perdón,” “Querida,” “La Diferencia,” “Me Nace del Corazón,” “¿Por Qué Me Haces Llorar?,” “Abrázame Muy Fuerte,” and “Así Fue,” a song he performed on stage with Isabel Pantoja.

The screening of Juan Gabriel’s Mis 40 en Bellas Artes at the Zócalo is scheduled for 7 p.m. (local time).

There are also three shades to choose from including brown, white and black that’ll easily pair with your statement tops.

Cardi B Responds To Receiving A Non-Payment Lawsuit | Billboard News

Cardi B responds to a non-payment lawsuit. Keep watching to see what she had to say.

Tetris Kelly:
Cardi B to the stand! The rapper snaps back at owners of a music video set that say she didn’t enough. As she represents herself with evidence.

The property owners of the home used in the “Like What” music video are suing Cardi B and Offset for money they say wasn’t enough after also claiming they didn’t know she was filming a music video. She posted to X, “We paid those people $10,000 IN CASH to rent the property for a whole 24 hours. Now they wanna finesse us trying to say we told them it was a TikTok video when that was nowhere in the contract and like they didn’t hear the whole song playing and see how long we was shooting….Why would it take us 24 hours to shoot a TikTok?”

According to Rolling Stone, in an 11-page complaint, the hip-hop heavyweights are accused of “targeting a distinctive property and devising a plan” to use it “without paying full market value.”

Cardi B is providing text messages and screengrabs of payments made. She also posted, “The problem is people wanna find loopholes and get over but IRON YOUR BEST SUIT B—H I’ll see you in court!!!!”

TDE’s Punch Says a Conversation With Jay-Z Informed Label’s Release Schedule: ‘We’re Not On Nobody Else’s Timetable’

TDE’s Punch has been the face of the label’s front office on social media, with an emphasis on X. He engages with fans and is fine being their punching bag when it pertains to the company’s notorious album release schedule — or lack thereof.

Punch stopped by Tank and J. Valentine’s R&B Money Podcast recently and was asked the Question of the Night by J. Valentine: “Why it be taking y’all so long to put these damn albums out, Punch?” He then referenced a convo he had with Jay-Z about quality over quantity that also involved a famous film director. “You know what’s funny? I had a conversation with Jay-Z,” he said. “We were in the studio talking and I think the new Ninja Turtles movie had come out at that time. He was like, ‘The Ninja Turtles can come out and do $300 million. That’s not gonna get Tarantino to change his script.’”

The TDE president and rapper took that advice to heart and explained the label’s ultimate mission is to put out music that can stand the test of time. “That always stuck with me,” he said. “’Cause I’m like, no matter what’s hot and what’s going on, it’s not gonna move me to change how I’m moving. It’s not gonna change my direction on the goal — and the goal is quality music. We wanna be honest and we wanna give you quality. Whatever happens from there, happens.”

Trending on Billboard

Adding, “So, as far as taking long, I look at it as we’re giving artists the space to create something great. We’re not on nobody else’s timetable. Once the artist feels, ‘OK, I’m ready,’ then we’re gonna be ready and we’re gonna go.”

SZA and their former artist Reason have expressed their frustration with TDE publicly. In a comment section of a fan page back in 2021, SZA wrote, “I really hate my label. So much.” And a year before that, she went on X and told fans to “ask punch” about new music. Reason, on the other hand, left the label after he got into it with TDE co-president Moosa on the Back on Figg podcast over his own frustrations with their handling of his music release schedule.
