Lil’ Kim and Teddy Riley Sign With Day After Day, Emancipated Icon for Global Touring Representation

Day After Day Productions and Emancipated Icon Entertainment Group have announced the joint signing of Lil’ Kim and Teddy Riley for worldwide touring engagements. The partnership marks a significant milestone for both artists’ bookings globally as they embark on new chapters in their careers.

Emancipated Icon, recently formed by Emancipated Talent’s CEO Rich Murphy and Icon Entertainment CEO Greg Walker, has established a strategic partnership with Day After Day, founded and led by veteran agent Seth Shomes. Together they will represent Lil’ Kim, a legendary figure in the hip-hop world who has captivated audiences with her unique style and iconic hits including “Not Tonight (Remix),” “Crush on You,” “Lady Marmalade,” “Magic Stick,” “The Jump Off” and “Lighters Up.”

Riley, a renowned producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, has played a pivotal role in shaping the sound of R&B and hip-hop. Britney Spears Opens Up About ‘Scary’ Fire Incident Earlier This Year: ‘It Happens’

Britney Spears is recalling a terrifying incident that almost led her to visit the emergency room.

The pop princess took to Instagram on Monday (Sept. 30) to share a video recalling a story that happened about six months ago. “I was in my room and I turned the fire on and, all of a sudden, it blew up in my face,” she explained in a British accent. “It’s done it before, and the times it’s done it before, I quit so I always get my security to come in and light it for me because I was scared it was going to blow up.”

She continued, “But this time, I just threw the whole thing in there and it blew into into my face and took all my eyelashes off and my eyebrows and see this baby hair? These baby bangs? This is from six months ago. It fizzled all my hair. The person I was with would not wake up and I thought I’d have to go to the emergency room because my face was on fire.”

Spears noted that the injury left her in pain and she considered going to the emergency room, as “it hurt to touch my phone, it hurt to put ice on my face” for six to seven hours. Ultimately, she took three Tylenol pills, something she noted is “a really, really big deal for me” and went to sleep.

Spears is thankfully safe despite the scary moment, and has been working on a “special project” recently. “The project I might be doing isn’t a biopic story … it’s a fictional musical where I play an extremely intelligent character !!!,” Spears wrote on Instagram alongside an illustration of a girl hovering over a pair of cats. “It’s flattering to be in such good company like Jon Chu !!!”

Wicked director Jon M. Chu and Marc Platt are leading the film’s development, according to Variety.

Andrea Bocelli to Be Honored for Inclusion; Announces Project to Rebuild Schools in Haiti

Andrea Bocelli is the recipient of the 2024 Morton E. Ruderman Award in Inclusion, which is presented by The Ruderman Family Foundation.  Bocelli is being recognized for his career, as well as for his philanthropic work through the Andrea Bocelli Foundation. Bocelli will formally receive the award when he is in Boston later this year, coinciding with his 2024 holiday tour.

The Andrea Bocelli Foundation (ABF) will receive a $100,000 contribution to help rebuild ABF schools throughout Haiti.

“Whether it be through my personal journey, musical career, or philanthropic projects, I have always prioritized giving a voice to the voiceless — to give back to the world all the good things I have received, so the less fortunate or most vulnerable members of our society get a chance to achieve a life full of opportunity and beauty,” Bocelli said in a statement. “It is therefore a tremendous honor to receive this award from the Ruderman Family Foundation, an organization that shares my worldview in both word and deed. Together, we will continue to work to build a better world than the one we have found.”

The ABF, together with the local partner Foundation St. Luc, has already helped rebuild several schools in Haiti in five of the poorest and most remote communities, offering educational access to more than 3,500 students every day.

Bocelli’s foundation has raised 70 million Euros, has funded 10 schools in Haiti and Italy, and has improved water access for more than 400,000 people since it was established in 2011.

“Both in his musical career and his philanthropic work, Andrea Bocelli has unmistakably demonstrated that through perseverance we can achieve even the most ambitious goals and dreams,” said Jay Ruderman, president of the Ruderman Family Foundation.

The award, now in its 10th year, was named after Morton E. Ruderman, a founder of the Ruderman Family Foundation. Past recipients of the award who were honored specifically for effectuating change on the issue of inclusion include Oscar-winning actress Marlee Matlin, former U.S. Sen. Tom Harkin and filmmakers Peter and Bobby Farrelly. (Peter Farrelly won two Oscars in 2019 for co-producing and co-writing Green Book.)

Several other recipients of the award have been recognized for their efforts to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health, including actress Eva Longoria, actor and recording artist Selena Gomez, five-time NBA All-Star Kevin Love, Oscar-nominated actor Taraji P. Henson, and Olympian Michael Phelps.

Bocelli, a world-renowned tenor, has amassed nine top 10 albums on the Billboard 200, including Si, which debuted at No. 1 in November 2018. Five of his albums have logged a full year or more on Billboard’s flagship album chart: Romanza (91 weeks), Sogno (72), Aria – The Opera Album (69), Amore (59) and My Christmas (52).

Bocelli’s only hit on the Billboard Hot 100 was a 2010 collaboration with Mary J. Blige – a remake of Simon & Garfunkel’s 1970 classic “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”

Surprisingly, Bocelli has yet to win a Grammy, despite five nominations.

Noah Kahan, Eric Church & More Helped the Sing Out Loud Festival Raise $160K for Florida Land Conservation

Gabriel Pellicer describes the Sing Out Loud Live Festival’s Wildly Showcase in downtown St. Augustine, Fla., as a convergence of history, passion and purpose.

“It’s a festival with a message,” explains Pellicer, who works as the CEO of SJC Portfolio Events, which manages Florida’s St. Augustine Amphitheater and Ponte Vedra Concert Hall and hosts a number of festivals in what historians say is the oldest city in the U.S., which is located about 40 miles southeast of Jacksonville and 70 miles east of Gainesville.

Over the weekend of Sept. 21 and 22, 27,000 music fans attended the annual showcase, which was headlined this year by Eric Church and Noah Kahan with appearances by marquee acts including Molly Tuttle and Norah Jones, Ryan Bingham with the Texas Gentlemen, JJ Grey & Mofro, Ole 60, The Breeders, Marcus King, Sierra Ferrell, Kevin Morby, and Nat & Alex Wolff. The showcase generated more than $160,000 from ticket sales in support of land conservation in St. Johns County and efforts to build a wildlife corridor between South and North Florida.

“The primary intention is to try to keep as much wild Florida wild as possible,” Pellicer said.

“The idea for the [Sing Out Loud] Festival began in 2013 when Mumford & Sons brought their Gentlemen of the Road to St. Augustine,” Pellicer recalls. “It was a September event. Because we’re a historic town in Florida, the number one economy is tourism. And we have these peaks and these valleys. August and September usually tapers off, especially after Labor Day. School gets back in session, and it just slows down. And we saw that as an opportunity.”

Beyond the performances, this year’s Sing Out Loud Festival offered immersive experiences allowing fans to walk through a recreated wildlife corridor, navigate local state parks via interactive maps and interact with giant inflatable representations of Florida’s iconic panthers, manatees and alligators.

“It has been such an honor partnering with the festival and having such a big audience to be able to sing the praises of how cool wild Florida is,” says Sara Sheehy, director of storytelling and the lead adventurist for Live Wildly. “One of the things that I am super passionate about is getting people out to experience the real wild Florida and so when any of the bands here at Sing Loud express interest, I’m like, “Where do you wanna go? I’ll take you anywhere in wild Florida that you want to experience.”

That includes taking several artists to a Guano Reserve along an untouched stretch of coastline just north of St. Augustine.

“It has these pristine dunes we explored, then [we] jumped in the water and spent some time looking for shark’s teeth on the beach,” says Sheehy. “Any chance that I have to get artists or anybody, literally anybody, into the wild, that is the end goal for me. Getting them to experience the wildness and the beauty of this place. It is beautiful here.”

As the festival continues to grow, its commitment to pairing live music with meaningful community initiatives remains at the forefront. Sing Out Loud Festival organizers plan to build on their momentum in the years to come, expanding their live music footprint while building upon their conservation efforts in the Southeast of the state.

Chris Brown Documentary Surrounding Abuse Allegations Coming to ‘Quiet on Set’ Network ID

Chris Brown’s history of alleged abuse and myriad of lawsuits will be explored in a new documentary coming to Investigation Discovery.

The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news regarding the doc on Monday (Sept. 30), which is titled Chris Brown: A History of Violence. The documentary is set to land on ID on Oct. 27 as part of the network’s “No Excuse for Abuse” campaign.

While Chris Brown has spent plenty of time topping the charts, he’s also dealt with plenty of legal issues dating back to his 2009 arrest for allegedly assaulting ex-girlfriend Rihanna. He ultimately took a plea deal after pleading guilty to felony assault in the case.

An unidentified alleged victim is also coming forward to tell her story of abuse at the hands of the turbulent superstar for the very first time.

“I have not spoken about this matter publicly, but that’s the only way he can be stopped,” an altered voice says.

Shortly after the premiere airs, The View‘s Sunny Hostin is reportedly slated to host a discussion alongside domestic violence experts and survivor advocates.

“Domestic violence is a very close, personal issue to me as I reflect on my past as a prosecutor of these types of cases, and in my role as a mother and public figure whose actions inform and help shape the next generation,” Hostin said in a statement. “This issue is a prevalent epidemic which knows no socio-economic boundaries, so I am dedicated to expanding and continuing this crucial conversation. The more we know, the better we can help advocate for change as a society.”

Investigation Discovery is coming off of airing the bombshell Quiet on Set documentary earlier this year, which probed the child abuse that allegedly took place at Nickelodeon Studios.

According to Luminate, ‘Mixtape Pluto’ earned 129,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Sept. 26. His albums with Metro earlier this year both debuted at No. 1 just three weeks apart. ‘We Don’t Trust You’ debuted atop the chart on April 6th, and ‘We Still Don’t Trust You’ debuted at No. 1 on April 27th. The Beatles were the last act to have three albums reach No. 1 in a span of 6 months. Since the Billboard 200 began publishing on a regular, weekly basis in March of 1956, no other solo artist has accumulated three new No. 1s as fast as Future.
