Charli XCXxc’s Brat has finally topped the U.K.’s Official Albums Charts, four months after its original release.
The release of remix album Brat and It’s Completely Different But Also Still Brat, which had star turns from Ariana Grande, The 1975, The Strokes’ Julian Casablancas and more, gave a well-timed boost to the original record to help it land at the summit. She faced stiff competition back in June when the original was beaten to No. 1 by Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department.
This is Charli’s second No. 1 album in the U.K. following 2022’s Crash. The record also is named the bestselling album on vinyl, and the LP was the most purchased in independent record shops this week. She already had a No. 1 on the Official Singles Chart in the summer with the remix of “Guess,” which features Billie Eilish.
The former Housemartins singer Paul Heaton lands at No. 2 with The Mighty Several. Heaton had a string of No. 1 albums in the 1990s with his band The Beautiful South, and two further chart-toppers with fellow Beautiful South vocalist Jacqui Abbott in 2020 and 2022.
Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet still has a hold on the British public as her album lands at No. 3, while Coldplay’s Moon Music and Chappell Roan’s The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess round out the top five.
Elsewhere in the top 10, there are appearances from James Blunt following the reissue of his 2004 album, Back to Bedlam, which landed at No. 7. Following a fan vote, the singer had promised to legally change his name to Blunty McBluntface if his album went to No. 1. Back to Bedlam originally spent 10 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 and is one of the bestselling albums in British music history.
Lady Gaga’s Harlequin, which is a companion album and featured songs from Joker: Folie à Deux, also had a boost following the shipment of physical LPs and finished at No. 11.

We’re only three weeks away from voting for the 47th president of the United States and with the very real chance that Donald “Dementia” Trump can not only win, but also go on to become the first dictator in America’s history, former WWE superstar Dave Bautista is doing his part to get everyone to vote for the most qualified candidate for the presidency, Kamala Harris.
Recently, the Guardians of The Galaxy movie star cut a comedic segment for Jimmy Kimmel Live in which he roasts Donald Trump for his many faults while taking in some boxing practice in the gym. Calling out Donald Trump for the “tough guy” image that so many of his cult members fawn over, Dave Bautista reminds everyone that Donald Trump not only “wears more makeup than Dolly Parton” but also has “jugs, big ones. Like Dolly Parton.”
Cutting ass on Cheeto Jesus for two minutes straight, Bautista reminds everyone that Trump was also known for creeping around beauty pageants, paid for deferments to avoid being sent to Vietnam and of course, “whines like a baby.” We’re low-key surprised he didn’t mention his adultery with porn stars, relationship with Jeffery Epstein, or how he stole money from a children’s cancer charity. Then again, pointing out every single aspect of Donald Trump’s horrible character would take up a good portion of Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Records continue to tumble for Sabrina Carpenter as she lands another week at No. 1 on the U.K.’s Official Singles Charts. The singer is the first artist in 71 years to spend 20 weeks at No. 1 on the charts in a single calendar year.
Carpenter’s “Taste” spends an eighth consecutive week at the top of the charts and becomes the longest-running No. 1 single of the year, toppling Noah Kahan’s “Stick Season.” Between “Espresso” (seven weeks) and “Please Please Please” (five weeks), Carpenter becomes only the second artist in chart history to spend that long at No. 1.
The only other artist to achieve a similar feat was Frankie Laine‘s 28-week reign back in 1953. The American crooner spent 18 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 with “I Believe,” which remains the U.K.’s longest-running No. 1 single ever, two weeks with “Hey Joe” and a further eight with “Answer Me.”
There’ll be happy faces all around for Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars as their collaborative single “Die With a Smile” rises to a new peak of No. 2, and could soon become a challenger for the top spot in coming weeks.
Elsewhere, Gracie Abrams lands her first top 10 single with “I Love You, I’m Sorry” at No. 4, and Sonny Fodera, Jazzy and D.O.D complete the top five with “Somedays.”
Chappell Roan’s “Hot to Go!” hits a new peak at No. 6, while Charli XCX and Ariana Grande’s “Sympathy Is a Knife” remix ends the week at No. 7.
KSI and Trippie Redd’s “Thick of It” rises six spots to No. 8, and becomes KSI’s ninth and Trippie Redd’s first top 10 single.

It looks like the culture will continue to headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show. The NFL have announced they have extended their deal with Roc Nation to curate the festivities.
As spotted on Yahoo! Entertainment, the National Football League will continue their partnership with Jay-Z to curate their biggest event of the year. As exclusively reported by Bloomberg News, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell disclosed the deal saying the partnership is “mutually positive” while attending the annual owners meeting in Atlanta. “I’m not sure either one of us really spend much time talking about contracts. Jay is happy” he said. “Desiree Perez is happy. I’m happy, so we’re all good.”
Back in 2019, the NFL signed the original deal with Roc Nation to curate the Halftime Show festivities. According to ESPN, the original contract was for about $25 million over a five-year term. In addition to choosing the talent, Roc Nation also assisted in the league’s commitment to social justice via their Inspire Change program. Since then, the Super Bowl has featured some of the culture’s biggest and brightest stars. In 2022, Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige and Eminem took the stage. Rihanna headlined the show in 2023, and Usher took the baton earlier this year.
Kendrick Lamar has been chosen as the headliner for Super Bowl LIX. It is set to take place on Feb. 9, 2025, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, La.

Before moving forward with recommendations of how to keep your family entertained this week, I want to acknowledge it’s been a devastating few days for the pop music community with the untimely passing of One Direction‘s Liam Payne. Having formed in 2010 and gone on hiatus by 2016, One Direction mostly pre-dates the youth of today’s main experience with pop music, but their impact on the genre holds steady. Payne’s family is heartbroken. His peers in music are grieving the loss of a dear friend. Parents reading this, especially the younger set who were coming of age at 1D’s peak, are likely feeling the heaviness. Kids on the internet might have seen the news, or they might be picking up on your sadness, and they might ask questions. I suggest reading Billboard‘s tribute to Payne and his indispensable contributions to One Direction, as well as a great summary of his highlights on the charts to queue up a playlist, whether it’s for yourself or to share with your family.
And now, a swerve into lighter and brighter news: The Eras Tour returns. Taylor Swift will be on stage (and our small screens, assuming someone live streams) Friday, Oct. 17 in Miami for the first concert of the end of Eras. The summer leg of the show got a Tortured Poets Department refresh. Will there be more surprises from the stealthy Swift before she takes her final bow of 2024?
On TV this weekend, I recommend tuning in to see Billie Eilish as SNL‘s musical guest. No word on whether the “Birds of a Feather” singer will star in any sketches on the Michael Keaton-hosted episode, but I foresee funny things if she does. Eilish previously hosted SNL in 2021, when she became the first-ever celebrity host born in the 21st century — just another mind-boggling milestone this young talent hit before the age of 21.
I’m currently streaming Prime Video’s The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh, a new half-hour family comedy series surrounding an Indian family that’s newly navigating life in America. Episode one, opening in an interrogation room with the entire Pradeep family of five, pulls you in right away. How did this family get here?
Family game collections should grow with this week’s release of Super Mario Party Jamboree from Nintendo. I think we’ll save this one for the holidays, when the kids can open it as a gift and have ample time to quarrel over which of the 110 mini-games to play first. The Mario Party series has a history of inspiring spirited competition in our home.
Here’s a rundown of our picks for the latest rendition of Billboard Family Hits of the Week:
“I need to forget, so take me to Florida.” Swift’s arrival to Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium for a trio of shows (Oct. 18-20) will uplift the mood of pop fans following the gravity of the week. Let’s hope the cathartic “Florida!!!” (performed live only once so far, with Florence Welch in London) makes an appearance on the set list in some way, to provide some pop music therapy.
This week I wrote Billboard Family‘s complete guide to everything you need to know about taking kids to The Eras Tour. It’s meant for folks with plans (or hopes) to see Swift at her remaining tour dates in Miami, New Orleans, Indianapolis, Toronto and Vancouver. It addresses whether you should buy tickets for your kids to see the show with you or experience the night without the little ones — I’ve done both, reporting from the tour in Atlanta, then seeing it again in Foxborough with my family. It’s got my personal tips on finding last-minute Eras tickets through Ticketmaster and resale sites (like StubHub). It’s got answers to all the questions you’ve got about taking young Swifties to this massive concert event.
Those lucky enough to be in the concert audience Friday night (Oct. 18) will be the first to see Swift live since August, when she concluded her European section of The Eras Tour. Though she’s attended the VMAs and some sports games, and just announced the upcoming release of a 256-page tour book and a Target special edition of The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology on CD and vinyl, little is known about how she’s spent the past two months. She’s had a tendency to keep quite busy with work even in her downtime (hi, Tortured Poets). Swift’s return to the stage starts a countdown until The Eras Tour’s last show ever, on Dec. 8. Will she launch into the final piece of Eras with any Easter eggs pointing toward what’s next? All eyes are on Florida!!!
If, like most of us, you’re not touching down in Miami right now, you can still keep up with updates from the show with your family. Chances are some fans there will live stream the show tonight. In modern times this happens in a smaller, quieter way among fandoms when an artist goes on tour, but it’s become much less discreet since The Eras Tour started. It’s usually just a quick search on TikTok or YouTube that brings up a stream by the time Swift starts, which should be around 8 p.m. ET this weekend. My tween kid, who will not deal with bad singers, cracks me up with her wry remarks about off-key streamers, but will sit through it to hear the night’s surprise songs with me.
The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh is a new show on Prime Video, which you have access to if you’ve got an Amazon Prime membership for the free shipping. It’s a streaming series that could have just as easily been a primetime family comedy airing on standard networks. Starring Naveen Andrews and Sindhu Vee as parents, and Sahana Srinivasan, Arjun Sriram and Ashwin Sakthivel as their kids, the comedy covers the culture shock of an Indian family that moved to America, a concept screenwriters can easily find the humor in.
But it’s the absurdity of this family’s particular situation, and the form the story is told through — with an interrogation used as a frame around flashbacks from the Pradeeps — that makes it uniquely funny. Press play on episode one and the first thing you’ll see is the family of five sitting across the table from investigators who are hounding them about a fire that burned down their next-door neighbor’s house. It’s sort of family comedy-meets-whodunnit.
I stopped myself from finishing the series in one go after watching four episodes straight through. At just a half hour each, and not the kind of show that requires deep thinking, the series moves fast. It’s nice to have an entertaining, 30-minute option when you feel like watching something but it’s getting late, or you don’t want to get sucked into a full-on TV binge. Mature topics (teen talk about sex, references to drugs at high school) are dealt with in a comedic way, but this one’s best enjoyed with older kids.
For families who like to have some game time together with kids of mixed ages, a new Mario release from Nintendo a fairly fail-safe choice. A new Mario Party release is even better. Super Mario Party Jamboree was just released on Oct. 17.
If you’re looking to have an easy weekend at home with your family, now’s the perfect time to pick up a copy (you can find it at your local Target). I’m holding off, but it will be ours by Christmastime. Mario Party‘s mini-games, fun to play with all ages, bring out the competitive side of everyone but my preschooler. He doesn’t play video games and doesn’t quite know what he’s doing yet, but likes to hold his own game controller and yell at the TV like he’s a part of it.
Super Mario Party Jamboree is a multi-player game with two modes of play, the aforementioned mini-games and longer ones that are like the video game equivalent of board game. The new Mario Party Jamboree has 110 mini-games and seven boards, so there’s plenty to choose from, and you can pick from 22 different playable characters. My kids are still pretty young so we don’t make use of the online features of video games, but this one has two Nintendo Switch online modes with rooms holding up to 20 players.
Last weekend Ariana Grande ruled Saturday Night Live, and this weekend brings us Billie Eilish as musical guest. She’s stopping by SNL for a performance Saturday night (Oct. 19) while she’s in New York City for her Hit Me Hard and Soft Tour at the iconic Madison Square Garden this week. Fingers crossed that Eilish takes part in a sketch or two, even though she’s not hosting the show this time. Please enjoy the time she and Kate McKinnon brought us this classic “Hotel Ad” sketch, with a cameo from Finneas.
“Birds of a Feather” is her current single, so it’s safe to guess it’ll be one of the songs she performs on the SNL stage. Poised for pop radio, it’s the best sing-along track on her latest album, catchy and sweet enough for all ages to appreciate. Her performance clips will make it online soon after they air, but you can also see the full show on TV, without cable, via Peacock.
Toosii pulled up for an episode of Billboard Gaming ahead of his Jaded album’s arrival. The Syracuse, N.Y., native faced off against staff writer Michael Saponara in a game of Madden 25 while chopping it up, taking a creative risk with his album, wild meet-and-greet photos with fans and more.

“Definitely a different project. It’s not gonna be nothing anybody used to from Toosii,” the 24-year-old said of the new set while playing with the Detroit Lions. “This is definitely outside what the day ones would ask for. We taking a risk with this project.”
He continued: “This project’s a lot bigger than anything I ever made. Great music is great music. If people appreciate great music, they’ll appreciate this project.”
Toosii hopes fans feel “enthusiastic, happy and proud” when pressing play on what he believes is the best album he’s made in his career thus far.
Jaded arrived via South Coast Music Group/Capitol Records on Oct. 4 with features from Gunna, Muni Long and Kehlani. The 13-track LP debuted at No. 50 on the Billboard 200.
Toosii will be hitting the road this weekend alongside Moneybagg Yo as a supporting act on Rod Wave’s Final Lap Tour, which kicks off in Phoenix on Saturday (Oct. 19). After a trip to the desert, they’ll be making stops in Oakland, Sacramento, Houston, Dallas, Memphis, Lexington, Detroit, Chicago, Brooklyn, Boston, Baltimore, Philly, Nashville and Orlando, before finishing up in Ft. Lauderdale on Dec. 18.
Toosii will be hosting meet-and-greets on the road once again. Some of the photos from previous treks went viral à la Chris Brown with fan’s overzealous requests.
“They be crazy,” he said. “They be trying to flash the camera. There’s some crazy stuff going on. We gotta tell them to [chill out] a little bit. Always gotta do the meet-and-greets.”

Kendrick Lamar rarely lends his stamp of approval publicly, but K. Dot gave his co-sign to a rapper in his former Top Dawg Entertainment family.
Lamar declared Doechii to be the “hardest out” with an Instagram Story post on Thursday (Oct. 17), which featured the Florida native’s cover art to her acclaimed Alligator Bites Never Heal mixtape.
She returned the favor, reposting the IG Story thanking Dot for giving her the spotlight. “Thank you Dot, you the greatest,” the 26-year-old wrote.

She joined the TDE family in 2022, while Lamar left the label that helped turn him into a rap titan later that year following the release of Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers.
Kendrick also shared The Barbershop short film starring Doechii, which was created in collaboration between his pgLang agency and Cash App. Calmatic directed the clip featuring Doechii, serving up some financial literacy in a straight-forward format as she explains interest in its simplest terms.
“I’m at a place now where I’m starting to make a budget and set financial goals for my future,” Doechii said in a statement. “I think it’s so important to be honest with each other when we talk about money, which is why I’m excited to be part of this campaign and share what’s been working for me.”
Lamar doesn’t speak out often when it comes to publicly wrapping his arms around younger artists. In the past, he gave his stamp of approval to XXXTENTACION’s 17 project in 2017. “Listen to this album if you feel anything. raw thoughts,” he tweeted at the time. “5th listen.”
Saturday Night Live‘s Chloe Fineman may have just figured out a way to conjure Billie Eilish at any time that fans are definitely going to want to try at home.
In a promo video for this weekend’s Michael Keaton-hosted episode posted Thursday (Oct. 17), the comedian stands with the actor and says, “I loved Beetlejuice, and I think the stuff in the movie really works.”
Fineman then demonstrates by saying “Billie Eilish” three times, an homage to the 1988 film and 2024 sequel. After the incantation, the nine-time Grammy winner — who is slated to perform on SNL as musical guest Saturday (Oct. 19) — appears out of nowhere with an explosive poof.
“Hey, guys,” she says casually to a startled Keaton and Fineman.
Elsewhere in the video, Fineman tells the Batman star and Eilish that she hopes there will be “some spooky sketches for Halloween” on this week’s episode of SNL, which won’t pick up again until Nov. 2 with John Mulaney and Chappell Roan serving as host and musical guest, respectively. In response, the “Bad Guy” singer gives a half-hearted “Boo!” — which makes Fineman scream bloody murder.
“No, don’t ever do that to me again,” the comedian then scolds, making Eilish laugh.
The “What Was I Made For?” musician previously performed on SNL in 2019 and 2023, pulling double duty in 2021 as host and musical guest. Her upcoming appearance with Keaton follows last week’s Ariana Grande-hosted episode, which featured live performances from Stevie Nicks.

Drake is still very much going through some thangs following his battle with Kendrick Lamar.
Drizzy’s style has changed many times throughout his career, but recently, many people have wondered if the Canadian-born musician is having a mid-life crisis.
The “God’s Plan” crafter has been getting trolled on X, formerly Twitter, after sharing another duck lip face selfie to his Instagram Story Tuesday night.
The Six God tried to take a page from West Coast legend Snoop Dogg’s book by rocking sleek pigtails with baby blue bubble barrettes and his hair parted down the middle.
The fit wasn’t any better, with Drake wearing a baggy-ass Canadian tuxedo (all denim for those who don’t know), an oversized leather bomber jacket that would make the Dipset proud, and white-on-white Air Force 1s.
Unfortunately for Drake, he didn’t look as cool as Uncle Snoop, and X didn’t hold back on the jokes.
Another user on X wrote, “Drake going thru [sic] his mid life crisis..what the hell possessed him to go put his hair in pigtails and pose with duck lips lol..just give us the slaps my boy.”
Speaking about the hair, another user on X wrote, “Drake with those f–king pigtails, EIGHT DAYS away from being THIRTY EIGHT years old is pissing me off so bad.”
Bruh.
We are sure Drake could care less about what people think about his style or infamous duck lip selfies; in fact, we think he’s doing this to keep his “haters” talking.
Well, if he thinks he looks cool, that’s on him.
But one thing is sure: he will keep getting these jokes after dropping these photos.
