Sailor Moon made its TV debut in 1992 but decades later continues to remain integrated in pop culture — especially for the character’s high-fashion looks. Besides offering a stylish Halloween costume, Sailor Moon has caught the attention of designer brands like Jimmy Choo who have reimagined the anime series into a luxurious apparel collection that lets fans infuse the series into your outfit rotation.

Megan Thee Stallion is another rapper who took to TikTok cosplaying as the main character of the show while artists like Halsey and Lizzo have at some point claimed to be fans.

Best Musician Halloween Costumes of All Time: Taylor Swift, Cardi B & More

Katy Perry, Harry Styles and more have also worn some iconic looks during Spooky Season.

From pop to country, R&B to hip-hop, one thing that unites many of the world’s biggest musicians is a love of Halloween.

Over the years, A-list artists have proven their passion for the holiday by showing off impressive costumes, embodying their favorite characters, creepy-crawly creatures and instantly recognizable idols with wigs, custom outfits and spooky makeup — just like all other Halloween lovers. Unlike most celebrators, though, these same musicians are often the inspirations for other people’s costumes each year; so, while countless fans are walking around as Taylor Swifts and Lady Gagas on any given October 31, those pop stars simultaneously get the chance to be someone else for just one night, escaping their world-famous personas and temporarily stepping behind the mask of a festive disguise.

Celebs also get access to some of the biggest Halloween gatherings of the year, whether they’re attending exclusive events — such as Heidi Klum’s annual party and Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights – or hosting themed celebrations of their own. Megan Thee Stallion, for instance, has thrown her signature “Hottieween” parties and concerts, while Harry Styles wore Wizard of Oz and Grease group costumes with his band for his “Harryween” shows in 2021 and 2022, respectively. Plus, Kelly Clarkson dresses up each year for Halloween episodes of The Kelly Clarkson Show, and so do her guests when they stop by for interviews close to the holiday.

From elaborate showstoppers to simple and cute getups, musicians have rocked a diverse array of costumes on Halloweens past. See photos of some of Billboard’s favorites below.

Timbaland & Metro Boomin Co-Sign Dr. Dre’s ‘One Producer on One Album’ Take on Hip-Hop

Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg recently sat down with Stephen A. Smith, and the topic of modern hip-hop came up. Snoop first compared his mentor to retired college football coach Nick Saban, who, like Dre, is considered the best in his field and coached up his fair share of stars over the years.

Smith then asked what advice the legendary duo would offer aspiring artists today, and while Snoop answered to “be original,” Dre advised to “find your collaborator.” Adding, “I don’t like the fact that there are, like, nine different producers on one album. I like the idea of one producer on one album. Continuity is everything.” After Smith asked when the trend of having multiple producers contribute on a track begin, the West Coast legend answered, “I don’t know, but I don’t like it. If you a producer, you should be able to produce the entire album. That’s what I thought it was supposed to be. That’s what I was doing at the beginning.”

Timbaland, a legendary and influential producer in his own right, agreed enough to post the clip on his Instagram along with the caption: “Preach!!!! @drdre.” And he wasn’t the only major producer to co-sign Dre’s statement. Metro Boomin, who’s repping for the younger generation, was on the same page as well, commenting, “All facts!”

Trending on Billboard

Snoop interjected by saying, “There’s a lot of beatmakers, though, Doc. That’s the difference between your era and this era, is that there aren’t too many producers as there are beatmakers. It’s so easy to make beats. They giving you all these computer packets that has the drum loop, has this… Y’all had to make the loop, change the sample.” Dre then answered back that he feels there’s a “change that’s happening from all this mumble rap thing and everything that’s happening right now.”

He continued by saying, “There’s somebody in somebody’s garage that’s happening right now that’s going to be the next Snoop and Dre, or next Prince and Michael Jackson that’s coming up with something that’s gonna change the game. It’s gotta happen right now and it’s wide open because everything that’s happening right now in the music game — especially hip-hop — is weird as f—.”

While this practice has become rare in mainstream rap, producers in the indie scene like The Alchemist, Daringer and V Don have made a habit of working with rappers like Boldy James, Rome Streetz, Larry June and others in crafting full projects together. And to Metro’s credit, he fully produced two albums with Future this year that both went to No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Cardi B Pulls Out of 2024 ONE MusicFest Due to Recent ‘Medical Emergency’

Cardi B suffered a recent “medical emergency” which has forced her to cancel her performance at 2024 ONE MusicFest this weekend.

Cardi released a statement on Wednesday (Oct. 23) revealing she’s pulling out of the Atlanta festival after being hospitalized over the weekend for an undisclosed reason.

“I am so sad to share this news, but I’ve been in the hospital recovering from a medical emergency the last couple of days and I won’t be able to perform at ONE MusicFest,” she wrote to Instagram. “It breaks my heart that I won’t get to see my fans this weekend and I really wish I could be there.”

Cardi continued to calm fans’ worries about the hospitalization: “Bardi Gang – thank you for understanding and I’ll be back better and stronger soon. Don’t worry. Love y’all.”

Taraji P. Henson hopped into her comment section urging Cardi to take a break. “TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF FRIST,” the actress wrote.

The Atlanta homecoming festival is slated for Oct. 26 and Oct. 27 while Gunna and Victoria Monét are set to be headlining without Cardi.

Cardi B has generated headlines from the hospital bed. She promised to solve whoever pranked her by having Child Protective Services come to her house alleging that she was abusing her three kids.

“I swear to you I’m gonna get to the bottom of it. For you motherf—–s to do a little prank call with Child Protective Services to come to my gated mansion at 11 p.m. while my children are sleeping because there’s an anonymous call that my kids have been getting abused and beaten,” she said. “Are you f—ing dumb? This is when the pranks start getting too far — when you a–holes think it’s funny.”

In a separate X outburst, Cardi targeted her ex-husband Offset in a scathing rant. “Bro I wish the worst on this man,” Cardi penned. “I never hated somebody soooo much and these b—-es be so [thirsty] to have him please take this man off my hands this garbage bag is to heavy !!”

She clarified that he is the father to her kids so “I don’t wish him death … but I truly hate this dirty a– narcissistic piece of sh–.” To be clear, Cardi confirmed Set had nothing to do with the CPS call.
