Lord Huron Earns Second Adult Alternative Airplay No. 1 With ‘Nothing I Need’
Written by djfrosty on May 23, 2025
Lord Huron hits No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult Alternative Airplay chart for the second time, as “Nothing I Need” jumps two spots to the top of the tally dated May 31.
The band first led with “Not Dead Yet” for five weeks in 2021.
Both of Lord Huron’s No. 1s came via seven-week rises to the summit. “Nothing I Need” completes the second-quickest trip to No. 1 in 2025, after The Lumineers’ “Same Old Song” (five weeks, February).
In between the commands of “Not Dead Yet” and “Nothing I Need,” Lord Huron reached Adult Alternative Airplay once, peaking at No. 2 in 2021 with “Mine Forever.” The band first made the list in 2015, when “Fool for Love” peaked at No. 3.

Concurrently, “Nothing I Need” leaps 31-26 on the all-rock-format, audience-based Rock & Alternative Airplay chart thanks to 1.5 million audience impressions, up 19%, in the week ending May 22, according to Luminate. It’s Lord Huron’s second-highest-charting song on the ranking so far, surpassed only by the No. 21-peaking “The Night We Met” in 2017.
“Nothing I Need” is the lead single from The Cosmic Selector Vol. 1, Lord Huron’s fifth studio album, set for release July 18. Its predecessor, Long Lost, debuted at No. 1 on the Americana/Folk Albums chart in June 2021 and has earned 283,000 equivalent album units to date.
All Billboard charts dated May 31 will update on Wednesday, May 28 on Billboard.com (a day later than usual due to the Memorial Day holiday May 26).
