Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” has landed a fifth week at No. 1 on the U.K. Singles Chart on Friday (April 18), and is now the longest-running chart-topper of 2025 so far.
By securing his fifth week, he breaks a tie held with Lola Young’s “Messy,” which had also notched up four weeks earlier in the year.
The news also coincides with the song’s success on the Billboard Hot 100, where “Ordinary” now sits at a new peak of No. 7. It’s his highest ever entry on the charts, and could soon be a contender for the top spot.

Speaking to Billboard in January, Warren discussed using challenging moments in his personal life, including the passing of both of his parents and his stint of homelessness, in his material. “I recently started doing this thing where I write about those [experiences], and I try to take control in a way,” he said. “For me, something really beautiful is taking something so sad and dark, and what most would view as something that ruined their life, and turn it into something that can help people.”
Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club” (No. 2), Ed Sheeran’s “Azizam” (No. 3) and Doechii’s “Anxiety” (No. 4) are non-movers, while Tate McRae’s “Sports Car” lifts one spot to a new peak (No. 5).
South African-German MC WizTheMc and British-German production collective Bees & Honey’s “Show Me Love” continues to rise (No. 6), and Ravyn Lenae celebrates her maiden top 10 entry on the charts with “Love Me Not” at No. 10.
Following its success in theatres, A Minecraft Movie‘s 34-second song “Steve’s Lava Chicken,” sung by star Jack Black, sets a new record for the shortest ever track to chart on the U.K. top 40, entering at No. 26.
