Lizzo is getting her groove back. On Thursday (March 13), the hitmaker dropped a new single titled “Still Bad” with a clear message at its center: Even after heartbreak, she’s still that girl.

Produced with “About Damn Time” collaborators Blake Slatkin and Ricky Reed, the funky bassline-driven track finds Lizzo reclaiming her positive energy. “I don’t need him I need a drink/ Let’s turn this pain into some champagne, baby,” she sings. “After everything, I’m still surviving and I’m still bad, baby.”

Lizzo had been teasing “Still Bad” for about a week leading up to its release, posting snippets of the song and lyrics on Instagram. She confirmed the track was coming one day prior to its release, writing on the platform, “STILL BAD 🩸 THURSDAY 🩸 12PM EST.”

Trending on Billboard

The star also appeared to be teasing a corresponding music video on Instagram Wednesday (March 12), sharing a clip of herself in a red corset with what appears to be bloody splatters on her cheeks. At press time, however, there was no “Still Bad” music video on her YouTube channel.

The song arrives just a couple of weeks after Lizzo released her comeback single, “Love in Real Life,” which doubles as the title track to her upcoming album. Aside from “Pink” for Greta Gerwig’s 2023 Barbie soundtrack, the songs mark the Yitty founder’s first proper releases since 2022’s Special, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and spawned two-week Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 single “About Damn Time.”
