JoJo threw the crowd at her recent Los Angeles concert back to the 1990s and early-aughts by performing her version of SWV’s “Weak,” for which she also enlisted guest Tori Kelly to help with vocals.
In a clip from her sold-out show Tuesday night (March 4) at The Wiltern, the “Too Little Too Late” singer sits on a platform next to the American Idol alum as they take turns singing lines from the vocal trio’s classic R&B track, showing appreciation for each other’s runs and sometimes joining in together for harmonies. “I get so weak in the knees/ I can hardly speak,” they effortlessly croon. “I lose all control/ And something takes over me.”
JoJo famously covered “Weak” on her 2004 debut album, JoJo, which reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200. SWV originally released the track in 1993, and it spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Both the band’s official account and groupmate Lelee Lyons weighed in on the performance after the show, with SWV commenting a string of heart emojis on Billboard‘s video of the tribute and the singer writing, “Oh wow! Beautiful ladies.”
“I never imagined this song would be so touching to everyone,” Lyons added. “Y’all better sing.”
The “Leave (Get Out)” artist — whose EP NGL arrived in January — is currently embarked on her Too Much to Say Tour. Following her stop in L.A., she’ll bring the trek to San Francisco, Seattle, Minneapolis, Chicago, Toronto and more locations in North America this month and April. In May, she has three performances lined up in Manchester, Birmingham and London in the United Kingdom.
JoJo and Kelly previously collaborated in 2020 on a joint cover of Carole King’s “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman” for Global Citizen’s Stand Up benefit album. In 2024, they teamed up again for a track titled “BottomLine” on Kelly’s TORI. (+ a lil more) album.
