The breakout rap hit “Tweaker” from the middle Ball brother, LiAngelo Ball, has generated nearly $640,000 since it first began its meteoric rise from NBA locker rooms to the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Released on Jan. 3 under the moniker GELO — Ball also raps under the alias G3 —“Tweaker” came out on Ball’s family label, Born to Ball Music Group. The track debuted at No. 29 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart dated Jan. 18 almost entirely thanks to its streaming success.

Ball’s song has since earned him a record deal with Def Jam/UMG, a half-time performance at the NBA All Stars Game in mid-February and a set at Rolling Loud California later this month.

Trending on Billboard

With more than 610,000 on-demand song equivalents, “Tweaker” has generated roughly $640,000 since its release on Jan. 3 through the week of Feb. 27, according to Billboard estimates using data from Luminate.

The song’s biggest single week was the second week after its release — Jan. 10 to Jan. 16 — when its roughly 15.5 million streams drove song equivalents of 107,670. The week of Feb. 7 to Feb. 13 — the first full week after the release of a remix with Lil Wayne — was another big week, with 13.6 million total on-demand streams contributing to nearly 90,000 on-demand song units.

The song’s more than 90 million total on-demand streams helped it generate $476,500 from master recording rights and $161,500 from publishing.

These calculations are for label and publisher revenue. The artists’ share of these figures depend on their contracts, which are not known.

A representative for Ball did not respond to requests for comment.
