A Grammy Awards producer is weighing in after Kanye West and Bianca Censori made headlines on the red carpet Sunday (Feb. 2). Ye and Censori stepped on the carpet in Los Angeles, with the latter wearing a floor-length fur coat. When the time came to take photos, Censori removed the coat to reveal a transparent dress, leaving nearly nothing to the imagination.
The outfit swiftly led to controversy online, with people questioning if the 30-year-old model broke the law or violated the dress code at the awards ceremony. Raj Kapoor, the executive producer of the 2025 ceremony, told People that the attire is listed as “artistic black-tie” on the invite, “but in the music industry, I guess that’s up for interpretation.”
He continued, “Obviously there is a dress code for anybody actually performing on the show that we have to adhere to standards and practices. But as far as people attending and nominees attending, that would be something the [Recording] Academy [presents the Grammys] would have to answer.”

Indecent exposure is illegal in California state law, noting that a person is “guilty of a misdemeanor” if he or she “exposes his person, or the private parts thereof, in any public place, or in any place where there are present other persons to be offended or annoyed.”
Rumors swirled following the ceremony that Ye and Censori were escorted out of the Crypto.com Arena because of the near-nude outfit. However, Variety reported that a source close to the Grammys said “it’s not true” and that Ye and his wife “walked the carpet, got in his car and left.”
Ye’s song “Carnival” with Ty Dolla $ign, Playboi Carti and Rich the Kid was nominated for best rap song at Sunday’s awards show but lost to Kendrick Lamar‘s “Not Like Us.”
