Eminem’s Spokesperson Says Recent Song Leaks Were ‘Never Meant for Public Consumption’

Written by on January 16, 2025

Eminem’s longtime spokesperson has spoken out against the collection of leaked songs from Slim Shady’s vault in recent weeks.

While the Detroit legend hasn’t officially released anything this year, fans have stumbled upon a handful of tracks that have gone viral on social media, including songs with longtime collaborators 50 Cent and Dr. Dre, as well as an alleged Suge Knight and Ja Rule diss track from 2003.

However, none were ever supposed to see the light of day. “These leaked songs were studio efforts never meant for public consumption … demos, experiments and ideas that are dated and not relevant so many years later,” Em’s spokesperson Dennis Dennehy tells Billboard. “The latest in a line of unfinished material released against artists’ will and without their permission.”

The leaker’s identity has remained anonymous, while Aftermath producer Fredwreck slammed the person responsible with a since-deleted threat to X.

“FYI to the criminal who’s leaking Eminem’s music. We will find you.,” Fredwreck wrote in part, per HipHopDX.

The collection of alleged leaks has ballooned to 30, with additional collaborations featuring Slaughterhouse, Anderson .Paak and the late Nate Dogg surfacing.

“Smack You” — the alleged Suge Knight and Ja Rule diss — has generated buzz on social media among fans as Em accuses the Death Row founder of having blood on his hands. “I’m holding Suge responsible for the deaths of the two greatest rappers to ever grace the face of this planet,” Em raps on the track. The rappers are believed to be Biggie and Tupac. Knight was in the car with Shakur the night he was shot and killed; FBI also investigated whether Suge had any involvement in Biggie’s death, which the rap mogul denied.

Eminem has yet to address the recent barrage of leaks. Slim Shady returned in July with the release of his The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce), which gave Em a 10th consecutive Billboard 200 chart-topper.
