Travis Kelce has been playing for the NFL for about 12 years, leaving many football fans curious as to whether he plans on hanging up his helmet any time soon. And according to the 35-year-old tight end, even Taylor Swift has some thoughts.
While talking about his career on the Stephen A. Smith Show Wednesday (Jan. 15), Kelce revealed that his superstar girlfriend is fully on board with him sticking with the Kansas City Chiefs for many more seasons to come. “She’s fully encouraging me to enjoy playing this game,” the New Heights podcaster said of the “Anti-Hero” singer. “She loves coming to Arrowhead and coming to the games and cheering for me.”
“So I got all the support in the world to keep chasing these dreams,” he continued. “I think personally, that’s the beauty of being in a very strong relationship is that you get that support to be able to come in and focus on your craft.”

Swift has been present at numerous Chiefs games since she first started dating the player in 2023 — including the 2024 Super Bowl, which the Kansas City team won. Most recently, she attended a home game just a few days before Christmas, arriving at Arrowhead Stadium in a chic, furry red coat.
Kelce added that the support he gets from the 14-time Grammy winner goes both ways. “That’s why I wanted to be at the concerts supporting her, being there for her and making sure she feels comfortable and supported in everything she’s doing in life,” said the athlete, who attended more than a dozen Eras Tour shows during the pop star’s blockbuster run on the billion-dollar global trek.
After first joining the NFL as the first of two third-round picks in 2013, Kelce has spent 12 seasons with the Chiefs, with whom he’s won three Super Bowls. With the tight end now approaching 36, he’s facing more and more chatter from fans as to how soon he’ll leave the league — especially as he’s been pivoting to different onscreen projects, such as taking roles in Grotesquerie and Happy Gilmore 2, as well as hosting Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? His older brother, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, retired from football at age 36 last year.
