Murph and Wetzel co-wrote “High Road” with Amy Allen, Carrie K, Josh Serrato, Gabe Simon, and Laura Veltz. It’s from Wetzel’s album 9 Lives, which became his fourth top 10 on Top Country Albums when it opened at its No. 5 best in August. It’s also on Murph’s That Ain’t No Man That’s the Devil, released in September.

On the multimetric Hot Country Songs chart, “High Road” debuted at its No. 8 peak in June, awarding Wetzel and Murph their second top 10 each.

Wetzel recently wrapped the European leg of his Damn Near Normal World Tour 2024. Murph is set to perform next in Huntsville, Ala., on Nov. 23.

He’s on a Roll

“I Am Not Okay” by Jelly Roll dominates Country Airplay for a second week (32.3 million impressions, down 5%). Of his six straight No. 1s from his start at the format, the song marks his third multi-week ruler. “Need a Favor” led for four weeks starting in August 2023 and “Save Me,” with Lainey Wilson, notched two weeks on top last December.

Jelly Roll, who hoisted the trophy for best new artist at the 2023 Country Music Association (CMA) Awards, is up for three awards this year, including the coveted entertainer of the year crown. This year’s ceremony airs Nov. 20 on ABC and will be available to stream the following day on Hulu.
