Joey Fatone Will Be Performing *NSYNC & Backstreet Boys Songs in Broadway’s ‘& Juliet’

Joey Fatone is heading back to the Broadway stage, this time for the Shakespeare-inspired & Juliet.
& Juliet opened at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre in New York City in 2022 and features songs by the legendary and Grammy-winning songwriter and producer Max Martin. The show reimagines the classic Shakespeare play Romeo & Juliet, picturing what life would have been like for Juliet had she not ended it for Romeo.
Fatone will be playing Lance Du Bois, taking over the role from original cast member Paulo Szot. In the play, Lance is the father of Francois, Juliet’s former fiancé. His casting means that the *NSYNC superstar will be treating attendees to onstage performances of songs by his boy band as well as their rival group, Backstreet Boys.
Fatone’s performance run will begin on Jan. 21 for nine weeks until March 16. Fatone is also no stranger to Broadway, as he made his debut in 2002 as Mark Cohen in Rent and later played Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors in 2004. In the film world, he’s best known for his role as Angelo in the My Big Fat Greek Wedding franchise.
Last month, it was announced that social media star Charli D’Amelio would be joining the cast for a three-month Broadway debut as Charmian, a dance-heavy role in the jukebox musical’s ensemble. She’ll start Oct. 29 and stay with the cast through Jan. 19.
