Charli D’Amelio is headed to fair Verona. As announced Monday (Sept. 30), the 20-year-old TikTok star is set to make her Broadway debut with a three-month run in the cast of & Juliet.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, D’Amelio will play Charmian, a dance-heavy role in the jukebox musical’s ensemble. She’ll start Oct. 29 and stay with the cast through Jan. 19 at the Sondheim Theatre.

“I’m so incredibly excited to finally share that i’ll be joining the cast of & Juliet on Broadway!” the influencer wrote on Instagram of the news. “This has been my ultimate dream ever since i was a little girl, but it always felt like something i could only admire from a distance, never imagining i’d actually get to be part of it. and now, here i am, starting this amazing new chapter in my life and cherishing every second.”

In addition to amassing more than 150 million followers on TikTok — making her one of the platform’s most-followed users — D’Amelio won the 31st season of Dancing With the Stars in 2022. She dropped her debut single “If You Ask Me To” that same year.

“i honestly can’t find the right words to describe just how much this means to me,” D’Amelio continued in her post. “i’m deeply grateful to everyone who has supported me along the way; i wouldn’t be here without all of you. a ginormous thank you to the entire & Juliet team for allowing me to be part of such a special show. thank you from the bottom of my heart.🤍”

Featuring the music of Max Martin — including Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone,” Katy Perry’s “Roar” and Backstreet Boys’ “I Want It That Way” — & Juliet opened on Broadway in November 2022. It reimagines the classic William Shakespeare tale of Romeo and Juliet as if the leading lady had survived.

Maya Boyd currently stars as Juliet, while Ben Jackson Walker plays Romeo. Shakespeare is played by Drew Gehling.
