Kenshi Yonezu is set to drop his highly anticipated sixth studio album, entitled LOST CORNER, due Aug. 21. The project will be the J-pop hitmaker’s first album in four years since his previous set, STRAY SHEEP.
All versions of the new album will include many of the singer-songwriter’s recent hits, such as “Sayonara Mata Itsuka!” (featured as the theme song for the NHK morning TV series Tora ni Tsubasa), “Garakuta” (the theme for the movie Last Mile, to be released in domestic theaters this summer), “Spinning Globe” (the theme for the Academy Award-winning animated feature film The Boy and the Heron, directed by Studio Ghibli’s Hayao Miyazaki), “Moongazing” (the theme for the game Final Fantasy XVI), “LADY” and “Every Day” (featured on Coca-Cola Japan’s “Georgia” commercials), “KICK BACK” (Chainsaw Man opener, the first Japanese-language song to be certified gold by the RIAA), “M87” (the theme for the movie Shin Ultraman), “POP SONG” (featured on PlayStation commercials), and “Pale Blue” (the theme for the drama series Rikokatsu).
The album’s CD will be made available in four different versions: the special “Garakuta” limited first edition with merch enclosed with the CD, the “Visuals” limited first edition that comes with either a Blu-ray or DVD with the CD, and the standard edition.
