Miley Cyrus‘ new collaboration with Pharrell has a release date. One day after she first teased the single on social media, the 31-year-old pop star confirmed when exactly “Doctor (Work It Out)” is set to arrive, and treated fans to a snippet of the track Wednesday (Feb. 28).

In a 20-second clip shared to Cyrus’ socials, the singer sports a teased-to-the-heavens mane and a black and silver dress with sparkly fringe. The camera catches her dancing joyfully from different angles as she sings along to some of the track’s lyrics, in which she takes on the role of a medical professional who specializes in love.

“I could be a doctor and I could be a nurse,” Cyrus croons over a funky, bass-led beat. “I think I see the problem, it’s only gonna get worse … Just show me where it hurts/ I need to rock you baby, before your body burns/ Can we work it out?”

“Doctor (Work It Out) MARCH 1 @pharrell,” she captioned the post.

The Hannah Montana alum previously unveiled the single’s cover art, which finds a fluffy-coat-wearing Cyrus looking into the camera as she stands against a gray background, the song’s title printed in pink across the top. According to Rolling Stone, “Doctor” may have been in the works since before the singer’s 2013 Bangerz album, from which the song was possibly scrapped.

Pharrell has also teased the groovy dance track in the past, playing it as part of Louis Vuitton’s Men’s Fall-Winter 2024 Collection presentation in Paris in January.

Cyrus is fresh off of winning her very first Grammys at the 2024 awards, where she took home best pop solo performance and record of the year for her smash hit “Flowers.” The single topped the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks in 2023.

“Doctor” will mark Cyrus’ first proper solo release since her 2023 single “Used to Be Young,” which peaked at No. 8 on the Hot 100. In October, she joined Dolly Parton — who just so happens to be her godmother — for a revamped version of her 2013 hit “Wrecking Ball.”
