Megan Thee Stallion’s Controversial ‘Fire Crotch’ Line Cut From VOD Version of ‘Mean Girls’

A controversial line uttered by Megan Thee Stallion in this year’s musical reboot of Mean Girls has reportedly been cut from the video-on-demand version of the movie.Variety reported on Monday (Feb. 26) that it had viewed the updated version of the film on Amazon Prime Video and that the rapper’s reference to “fire crotch” was edited out of the movie’s on-demand version.
The move came after the original movie’s co-star, Lindsay Lohan, complained about the call-back to a hurtful viral comment made about her in 2006.

According to a video of the edit posted last week, the offensive line appears to be gone in the film’s cameo in which the rapper plays herself while offering support for Cady Heron (Angourie Rice), with the bit now jumping to the “we are going back red” line while by-passing the controversial “Y2K fire crotch is back!” bit.
The offensive joke referred to an infamous 2006 TMZ video in which oil heir Brandon Davis made an insulting comment about Lohan’s body; US also reported that the line had been excised, though a spokesperson for soundtrack label Universal Music has not returned Billboard‘s request for comment at press time and film studio Paramount has not confirmed the edit.
After the Paramount movie — which features Lohan in a cameo as a moderator at the Mathletes championship — hit theaters earlier this year, the actress’ publicist said Lindsay was “very hurt and disappointed by the reference in the film.” Lohan originated the role of Heron in the original 2004 teen comedy movie written by former SNL star Tina Fey and starring Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert and Amanda Seyfried.
The 2024 musical reboot was also based on a screenplay by Fey — inspired by the Broadway musical of the same name — starred Reneé Rapp (Regina George), Auli’i Cravalho (Janis ‘Imi’ike), Avantika (Karen Shetty), as well as Jenna Fischer, Busy Phillips, Fey and Tim Meadows.
