Keep killing it,” the Argentine rapper and singer posted on her Instagram stories in October 2022 about the single originally released by the Mexican star in 2021. To this, Peso responded with an invitation to collaborate on the remix of the song: “Thanks to my friend Nicki Nicole for posting me, for sharing the song. I say let’s do the remix.”
On March 1, 2023, the video for the collaboration arrived.
Months later, the couple appeared together on stages, walked red carpets and attended awards ceremonies, until their latest public appearance at the Los Angeles Lakers game in L.A. on Feb. 8.
Just ahead of Valentine’s Day, however, Nicki Nicole and Peso Pluma are apparently over. At least that’s what she hinted at with a strong statement she shared on social media after removing her and the Mexican singer’s photos from her Instagram account.
“Respect is a necessary part of love,” Nicole posted on an Instagram Story on Tuesday (Feb. 13). “What is loved, is respected. What is respected, is cared for. When you are not cared for and there is no respect, I don’t stay there. I leave. It is with great sorrow that I found out the same way you did, thank you for the love you are sending me.”
Her bold statement comes a day after a video of Peso Pluma holding hands with another woman in Las Vegas during Super Bowl weekend went viral. Nicki Nicole’s team declined to make additional comments on the matter. Billboard contacted a representative for Peso Pluma, who at the time of this publication had not responded.

October 2022: Nicki Nicole shares her thoughts on ‘Por Las Noches’
Months after Peso Pluma released “Por Las Noches,” Nicki Nicole dedicated a message to the Mexican artist on her Instagram stories. “Simply thank you for making this song. It’s amazing how you describe everything I feel right now, you are very talented. Keep killing it,” Nicki commented on the single.
Following this, Peso responded with an invitation for a collaboration, “Thanks to my friend Nicki Nicole for posting me, for sharing the song. I say let’s do the remix.”
March 1, 2023: A Collaboration Is Born
And it didn’t take too long for the remix to drop. On March 1, 2023, the artists released the remix of the regional Mexican ballad “Por Las Noches,” their first collaboration together.
On June 18, after appearing as a guest at a Peso concert in Guadalajara, Jalisco in Mexico, Nicki shared in an Instagram post pictures with the artist on stage, bouquets of flowers and a nice message: “Two magical days in Mexico. Thank you, @pesopluma for inviting me to sing with you on this special night with your people in your city, I love and admire you,” wrote the singer.
July 11, 2023: More than a friendship?
Peso Pluma and Nicki Nicole sparked rumors of a possible relationship when they were spotted together at Disneyland. In photos and videos published by different media on July 11, they are seen walking and enjoying the day together.
October 5, 2023: Billboard Latin Music Awards
On October 5, during the 2023 Billboard Latin Music Awards, Peso Pluma invited Nicki Nicole to the stage. “Here with all of you, the beautiful Nicki Nicole,” said the Mexican singer. Together they performed their collaboration “Por Las Noches” while showing off their chemistry as a duo.
October 11, 2023: “We are getting to know each other”
On October 11, 2023, Nicki Nicole denied having a relationship with Peso Pluma. In an interview for the podcast El Despelote, when questioned about her alleged relationship, the Argentine replied: “We are good friends, we are getting to know each other. Friends hold hands, don’t they?”
November 2, 2023: They confirm their relationship with a sweet kiss
On November 2, the artists joined forces again on stage during Nicki Nicole’s Abre Su Alma Tour stop at the Pepsi Center WTC in Mexico City. As they began the performance of their collaboration “Por Las Noches,” Peso Pluma gave the rapper a sweet kiss publicly confirming their relationship. “I want to thank Nicole for this beautiful invitation and you for supporting her. Let’s hear it for Nicki Nicole,” expressed Peso. “Thanks for coming, love,” she added.
The artists made their first official appearance as a couple on the red carpet of the Latin Grammy Awards in Seville, Spain, on November 16. In an interview with Billboard, both gave hints of a possible new collaboration: “I think that when you mix the personal with the musical, incredible things happen. We love each other so much personally, and we admire each other so much musically, there’s a unique chemistry in the studio,” Nicki commented.

February 4: Together at the Grammy Awards
The couple attended the 2024 Grammy Awards ceremony together, where Peso Pluma won the award for best música mexicana album (including tejano) for Genesis. The Mexican star did not attend the Grammy Premiere to receive his golden gramophone, but he did later walk the red carpet with Nicki Nicole. The couple could also be seen enjoying the ceremony.
