RBD Split With Business Partner Guillermo Rosas, Who Helped Reunite the Band

RBD and Guillermo Rosas, the group’s business partner who helped reunite the band after 15 years, have officially parted ways, Billboard can confirm.

The news of the split comes just a month after the Mexican pop group — composed of Anahí, Dulce María, Maite Perroni, Christopher von Uckermann and Christian Chávez — wrapped their massive Soy Rebelde Tour, which, as of Nov. 30, had grossed $197.1 million since launching in August.

Rosas worked with the band as a concert promoter from 2006–2008, when the group split. For RBD’s comeback tour, under the band’s new business model, the five members and Rosas were equal partners in a new joint venture — splitting all new revenue, including for music, between RBD and Rosas, who in 2020 helped clear the rights to the group’s catalog. He also brought Live Nation onboard as promoter for the reunion tour and CAA for global representation of the band.

The Soy Rebelde Tour — the act’s first trek since 2008’s Tour del Adiós — landed at No. 21 on the Top Tours 2023 Year-End Boxscore charts. One of the biggest Latin tours of 2023, RBD performed at over 50 arena and stadium dates across the United States, Colombia, Brazil and Mexico. On Dec. 21, the band played its last show of the tour at Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca for over 80,000 people.

New tour dates for 2024 are expected, but have not yet been announced. When asked about the future of RBD during an interview with Billboard Español in December, Perroni said, “Of course, the hope of being able to continue building something together remains. We’ll see what destiny and life have in store for us; we don’t know today.”
