Chris Young has parted ways with Nashville-based management company The AMG (short for Artist Management Group), a rep for the singer has confirmed to Billboard.

Along with Brad Paisley, Young was one of Rob Beckham‘s flagship clients when he launched The AMG in 2019 with music manager Bill Simmons. The AMG’s official website still lists Paisley, Chris Colston and couple/musical duo Kat & Alex (who recently announced they are “parting ways both musically and romantically”) as clients.

Beckham launched The AMG after leaving his nearly 10-year tenure at WME Nashville (during which time he rose to partner/co-head) in 2018. Beckham’s clients at the booking agency included Young, Paisley, Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton. Beckham is a previous Billboard Country Power Players honoree and a CMA-SRO talent agent of the year award recipient. Simmons was previously a partner at management company Fitzgerald Hartley, managing the careers of Young and Paisley. Fitzgerald Hartley closed in 2019.

Young’s current radio single, “Looking For You,” is No. 16 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, and No. 31 on the Hot Country Songs chart. Since issuing his self-titled debut album in 2006, Young has earned 11 No. 1 Country Airplay chart hits, including his 2010 hit “The Man I Want to Be,” and 2015’s “I’m Comin’ Over,” which each spent three weeks atop the Country Airplay chart.

In 2021, Young’s collaboration with Kane Brown, “Famous Friends,” also topped Billboard’s Year-End Country Airplay songs chart, having reached No. 1 on the Country Airplay chart in July 2021.

Young is currently meeting with potential new managers.

The AMG did not respond to a request for comment.
