Ariana Grande & Cynthia Erivo Return for Follow-Up to Viral ‘Wicked’ Jingle, This Time With Special Guests

The follow-up to Wicked is coming to theaters in just a few days, so Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo had to give their viral Tonight Show jingle from last year a sequel, too.

In a video posted by the late-night program on Sunday (Nov. 16), the two leading ladies perform a second song in the same style as their 2024 musical explainer of the premise of Wicked, which blew up online and inspired countless copycat videos on TikTok. This time, Grande and Erivo were joined by special guests from the musical duology’s cast.

Alternating each line, the two women sang back and forth, “Elphaba/ And Glinda, too/ Back again/ For something new,” before diving into a role call introducing Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Michelle Yeoh, Bowen Yang and Marissa Bode’s characters.

Jeff Goldblum — who also appeared in the women’s original Tonight Show sing-along — made another cameo, as did Jimmy Fallon. “Boo!” the talk-show host interjected at one point, leading Erivo to ask, “Who was that?”

The new video was posted one day shy of the one-year mark since the original, deeply catchy “Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo Perform a Song About Wicked” came out. The clip currently boasts nearly 22 million views on YouTube.

The clip also comes just a few days ahead of the Nov. 21 worldwide release of Wicked: For Good in theaters, closing out one of the biggest film sagas of the 2020s. The first Wicked premiered in November 2024 and immediately smashed box-office records, later taking home Oscars for best costume design and best production design.

Watch the Wicked cast sing a follow-up to their viral Tonight Show song above.
