The Recording Academy is unveiling the nominations for the 68th annual Grammy Awards on a livestream on its YouTube channel, and you can find out who is competing in the six highest-profile categories right here. We’ll show you the full list of nominees in each of those categories – along with our instant analysis – as soon as each category is announced.
Then, as soon as the livestream ends, we’ll unveil a list showing the nominees in all 95 categories, along with full analysis and our list of Snubs & Surprises. Throughout the day, our genre experts will weigh in with reaction to the nominations.
All 95 Grammy categories are important to the people in those fields of endeavor, but there are six categories that are closely watched by just about everybody: the six categories in the General Field – album, record and song of the year, which date back to the first Grammy ceremony in 1959; best new artist, which was added for the second Grammy ceremony in 1960; producer of the year, non-classical, which was added in 1975; and songwriter of the year, non-classical, which was added in 2023.
Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, Brandi Carlile, Doechii and Nicole Scherzinger are among those participating in the livestream, which began at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT. Others who are announcing categories include Angelique Kidjo, CeCe Winans, David Foster, Jon Batiste, Karol G, Little Big Town, Lizzo, Masaki Koike, Mumford and Sons, Sam Smith, Dr. Chelsey Green and Gayle King. Dr. Green is the chair of the Recording Academy’s board of trustees. King is a co-host of CBS Mornings.
Here are the nominees in the six General Field categories, as they are announced:
