Finneas has formed a new band with singer Ashe, The Favors, with the duo’s debut slated for release this fall. “We made a band. It’s called The Favors. Announcing our new album, The Dream, out September 19,” read a statement from the pair, which noted that their debut single, “The Little Mess You Made”, will drop on Friday (June 6).
“We deeply loved making this music together in secret and can’t wait for it to finally make it’s way to you,” they wrote. In a separate Instagram Story, Finneas opened up about the project, writing, “Over the past 18 months, Ashe and I have been toiling away on this album and I really mean it when I say I could not be more proud of it – David Marinelli on drums, Ricky Gourmet on guitar – I love being in a band.”
It’s not the first time the pair have worked together. They collaborated on Ashe’s pair of 2019 EPs, Moral of the Story: Chapter 1 and Chapter 2, with Finneas producing all the tracks on the first effort and most of the songs on part two. Finneas — who has won 10 Grammy awards for his work with sister Billie Eilish — also produced and co-wrote the single “Till Forever Falls Apart” from Ashe’s 2021 debut studio LP, Ashlyn.
