Kate Hudson is a mom who rocks! On Thursday (May 22), the actress posted a sweet video on social media jamming out to Alice in Chains with her eldest son Ryder.
“Sometimes u just have to eat a salad and listen to @aliceinchains pre show with a son,” the “Gonna Find Out” singer captioned the video on her Instagram Stories, which features 21-year-old Ryder singing along to the band’s 1992 rock hit “Them Bones” as he brandishes an air guitar.
Just a few hours later, Hudson hit the stage in West Hollywood, California for her own headlining show at The Roxy. During the concert, she performed numerous cuts off her 2024 debut studio album Glorious including lead single “Talk About Love,” “Live Forever” and the title track, as well as covers of Fleetwood Mac’s “Gypsy,” Benson Boone’s “Mystical Magical,” “Just Like Heaven” by The Cure and Aerosmith’s “Cryin’.”

The latter even caught the attention of Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler, who shared a clip of Hudson’s performance on the band’s own Instagram Stories and wrote, “We love this cover of ‘Cryin’” @katehudson” with a pair of praise hands and a red heart emoji. (“Love you @iamstevent,” Hudson replied when re-sharing the post.)
Upon its May 2024 release, Glorious turned Hudson into a Billboard-charting artist in her own right by bowing on five separate album tallies — including Heatseekers Albums, Top Album Sales, Top Current Album Sales, Vinyl Albums and Independent Albums — and placing her on the Emerging Artists ranking at No. 5.
