Lainey Wilson Will Make Her Feature Film Debut in ‘Reminders of Him’

Lainey Wilson is set to make her feature film debut, Variety reports.
The country star is set to appear in the upcoming film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s book Reminders of Him, with the movie set to release on Feb. 13, 2026. The Universal film, directed by Vanessa Caswill, will also reportedly include actors Nicholas Duvernay, Lauren Graham, Maika Monroe, Rudy Pankow, Bradley Whitford and Tyriq Withers.
Billboard reached out to Wilson’s representatives for comment.
Hoover and Lauren Levine created the movie’s screenplay and will also produce the film via their production company Heartbones Entertainment, with Gina Matthews also producing through Little Engine Productions. Robin Fisichella will serve as executive producer.

Hoover’s book Reminders of Him was published in 2022, selling over 6.5 million copies globally. The storyline follows protagonist Kenna Rowan, who has been released from prison following a drunk driving accident five years earlier which resulted in the death of her boyfriend Scotty. Rowan goes to Scotty’s hometown with the aim of reconnecting with their four-year-old daughter, who is being raised by Scotty’s parents. Along the way, Rowan also meets Ledger Ward, a bar owner in town, as she works toward redemption.
Details on Wilson’s role in the film have yet to be revealed, though according to Variety, Monroe will portray Rowan, while Pankow will portray Scotty and Withers will portray Ward.
In addition to earning ACM, CMA and Grammy honors, as well as notching four No. 1 Billboard Country Airplay hits, Wilson has previously flexed her acting skills with her recurring role on Taylor Sheridan’s hit television series Yellowstone, where she portrayed a musician named Abby.
