Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” landed a sixth week at No. 1 on the U.K. Singles Chart April 25, and becomes the longest running chart-topper since Sabrina Carpenter’s nine-week run with “Taste” in 2024.

Last week, Warren broke the tie he held with Lola Young’s “Messy” for 2025’s longest running No. 1 in the U.K. “Messy” had notched up four weeks earlier in the year.

The news coincides with his success on the Billboard Hot 100, where “Ordinary” now sits at a new peak of No. 5, up two spots from the previous week. It’s his highest ever entry on the charts.

Trending on Billboard

Speaking to Billboard in January, Warren discussed using challenging moments in his personal life, including the passing of both of his parents and his stint of homelessness, in his material. “I recently started doing this thing where I write about those [experiences], and I try to take control in a way,” he said at the time. “For me, something really beautiful is taking something so sad and dark, and what most would view as something that ruined their life, and turn it into something that can help people.”

Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club” (No. 2) and Ed Sheeran’s “Azizam” (No. 3) are non-movers, while South African-German MC WizTheMc and British-German production team Bees & Honey’s “Show Me Love” hit a new peak (No. 4). Doechii’s “Anxiety” finishes the week at No. 5, down one spot from last week.

Last week, Jack Black made history with the shortest ever song to reach the top 40 with “Steve’s Lava Chicken,” as heard in A Minecraft Movie. Now, the 34-second song is up to No. 10 with Black calling the response and support from Minecraft fans “insane.”
