Spotify Raises Prices in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg

Spotify customers in the Benelux countries will be paying more for their subscriptions after the streaming company raised prices in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.

In both the Netherlands and Luxembourg, an individual subscription plan increased to 12.99 euros ($14.73) from 10.99 euros ($12.46). A family plan jumped to 21.99 euros ($24.94) from 17.99 euros ($20.40). The “Duo” plan, which covers two accounts, rose to 17.99 euros from 14.99 euros ($17.00). The student plan also increased, to 6.99 euros ($7.93) from 5.99 euros ($6.79). 

Belgium customers will pay 11.99 euros ($13.60) for an individual subscription, up from 10.99 euros. A family plan increased to 20.99 euros ($23.80) from 17.99 euros. The Duo rose to 16.99 euros ($19.27) from 14.99 euros. The student plan went to 6.99 euros from 5.99 euros.

Prices in all three countries were last increased in July 2023 when Spotify increased its prices across North America, Europe and Asia

The Benelux countries now have higher prices than their larger, Western Europe neighbors. An individual plan costs 10.99 euros in Germany and 11.12 euros ($12.61) in France. Elsewhere in Europe, an individual plan costs 10.99 euros in Spain, Italy and Austria. Switzerland charges a high price of 13.95 CHF ($17.05). 

Spotify raised prices in the U.K., Australia and Pakistan in April 2024 followed by the U.S. in June and Canada in October. In the U.S., a standard individual plan currently costs $11.99, up from $9.99 in 2023, while a family plan costs $19.99, up $3 in the last two years. An audiobook-only plan costs $9.99.
