Danny Hayes is leaving Danny Wimmer Presents, where he has served as chief executive and partner for more than a decade.
“When I first started my career as an entertainment lawyer, I never imagined I’d become a festival promoter,” Hayes wrote in email to friends on April 5. “But then I met Danny Wimmer, and I jumped in headfirst. What started as a partnership quickly became a brotherhood, and over the years, our families grew up alongside the festivals we built. DWP wasn’t just a business—it was our passion, our heart, and our way of life.”
Hayes added that recently, “I have made the difficult decision to move on to my next adventure. After much discussion, Wimmer has reluctantly agreed to let me go and he will continue leading DWP into the future. I have nothing but love, respect, and appreciation for him, and I know he will continue to do great things.”
With Hayes’ help, DWP has grown into one of the largest rock festival promoters in the country with a staple of events that include Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, Bourbon and Beyond and Louder than Life in Louisville, Inkcarceration in Ohio, Sonic Temple in Columbus, Ohio and Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach, Florida.
“I’ll always be a fan of DWP,” Hayes writes. “The DWP staff, the fans, the bands, the vendors, the partners, and every single person who has been part of this journey—past and present—have made this an experience I will cherish forever.”
