Sabrina Carpenter Joins Fortnite Universe for ‘Festival’ Season 8

“I’m working late, ’cause I’m a singer,” Sabrina Carpenter croons on “Espresso.” And with an avatar of the pop star coming to Fortnite Festival, fans can now experience what that’s like, too.
As announced Monday (April 7), Carpenter is the game’s icon for season eight — which starts April 8 — meaning players can virtually perform her music while playing as the two-time Grammy winner as part of Festival, a Rock Band-like game that exists in the Fortnite universe. By unlocking the season eight Music Pass, fans will be able to play her hits “Juno” and “Nonsense” as Jam Tracks. Billboard Hot 100-topper “Please Please Please,” “Taste,” “Espresso” and “Feather” will also be available on Fortnite Shop.
The game will let fans steal Carpenter’s style, too. The Girl Meets World alum’s avatar will come with four different skins inspired by her Short n’ Sweet Tour looks, including a yellow babydoll dress, an unlockable sparkly yellow bodysuit, a for-purchase “Tour-Ready” getup featuring a pink skirt and boots and an alternative version of the latter that comes in baby blue. Other Carpenter-related items waiting to be unlocked include a blinged-out, lipstick-printed purse as well as the star’s microphone and guitars.

The “Bed Chem” singer will also introduce new emotes to the Fortnite Locker, including a Dance Emote that lets players do the same moves — even if one doesn’t own the Emote. Cute “Taste” and “Please Please Please” Emotes feature special movements choreographed to parts of their respective songs.
Carpenter is just the latest musician to take part in Fortnite Festival, which Epic Games introduced in 2023, three years after Travis Scott’s noteworthy virtual in-game concert, which drew 12.3 million concurrent players at its peak. The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish and Karol G have all served as Festival icons in the past.
The Fortnite news comes amid Carpneter’s ongoing trek in support of Billboard 200 No. 1 album Short n’ Sweet, which earned 362,000 equivalent album units in its first week — by far the musician’s biggest opening to date. Following a run of North American shows last fall, Carpenter is now touring through Europe on a leg that will last until early July.
