Chandler Moore earns third No. 1 overall, and his first without any billed collaborators, on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart, as the Maverick City Music member’s “Lead Me On” ascends a spot to the top of the tally dated March 15.
During the Feb. 28-March 6 tracking week, the single advanced by 5% in plays among reporters to the chart, according to Luminate.
Moore co-authored “Lead Me On” with Pat Barrett, Daniel Bashta, Jonathan Jay and Jeff Pardo. Moore also co-produced it with Jay and Pardo. It’s the first single from the singer-songwriter’s solo set Chandler Moore: Live in Los Angeles, which opened at No. 1 on the Top Gospel Albums chart last August, becoming his third total and consecutive leading collection, and his first as the only credited artist, apart from Maverick City Music.
“I’m truly grateful for this moment,” Moore tells Billboard. “Seeing how ‘Lead Me On’ has touched hearts means so much to me. Thank you to everyone who’s been part of this journey — this has been really special.”
The 29-year-old from Charleston, S.C., has been a member of Maverick City Music since 2018. He previously topped Gospel Airplay with “Jireh,” for two frames starting in March 2022; the song is billed to Elevation Worship and Maverick City Music and features Moore and Naomi Raine (who is also a member of Maverick City Music). He led again when the Christian/gospel collective and Kirk Franklin’s “Kingdom,” featuring Raine and Moore, ruled for three weeks beginning in October 2022.
Moore is currently touring overseas, with his next stop set for Rotterdam on March 17.
