Joaquina Signs Global Publishing Deal With Warner Chappell Music

Venezuelan singer-songwriter Joaquina has signed a global publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music, the company tells Billboard. This marks her first worldwide administration agreement since her best new artist win at the Latin Grammys in 2023, which made her the youngest act to win that category at age 19.
“I believe a huge part of my purpose in life is to write songs and tell stories through them — it’s actually the writing process itself more than anything that motivates and inspires me to make music,” Joaquina, now 20, said in a statement. “That’s why I’m so grateful to now have a team that believes in me and my craft as a songwriter before anything else, and I’m excited for this new chapter. Muchas gracias por creer en mí.”
Known for her fusion of a variety of styles, including folk, pop and rock, Joaquina — who was part of the inaugural class at the Art House Academy — released her highly anticipated debut album, Al Romper La Burbuja, in January via Universal Music Latino. The 14-song set, co-produced by Joaquina and renowned hitmaker Julio Reyes Copello, followed her Latin Grammy-nominated EP Los Mejores Años (2023).

“It’s not often that an artist like Joaquina comes along with such a deep talent for songwriting and storytelling, and at such a young age,” added Gustavo Menéndez, president of U.S. Latin & Latin America at Warner Chappell Music. “It’s been amazing to watch her rise so quickly, and we can’t wait for the amazing music she has yet to share with the world.”
The publishing agreement comes ahead of Joaquina’s first-ever tour, which includes stops in four cities in the U.S. as well as shows in Mexico, Peru, Chile, Colombia and Argentina. Check out the complete list of tour dates on her official website.
