Mase Plans on Releasing New Album on First Day of Diddy Trial: ‘Now We Even’

Written by on March 10, 2025

Mase is planning a comeback.

During the March 7 episode of his sports talk show It Is What It Is, the Harlem rapper-turned-sports pundit kicked things off by revealing that not only is he going to drop his first album since 2004’s Welcome Back, but Cam’ron helped curate the tracklist.

“Mo, what’s good? Can y’all hear the music,” he asked his co-hosts Treasure “Stat Baby” Wilson and former football player Maurice Clarett. “I’m listening to the songs that Killa picked out of the stuff I made.”

And when Clarett suggested that he may be breaking Cam’s heart by never releasing music, Mase clarified that he’s really planning on finally releasing new songs. “No, no, no. These are the songs he picked, so I’m listening to his lineup,” he shared. “It’s gonna be crazy. We had to pick the right records.”

Clarett then asked when the music was coming out, and after some deliberation, Mase answered, “May 25. The first day of the Diddy trial. We’re dropping. You like that? You made me put it out there. I wasn’t going to put that out there, but Mo, you made me.”

Murda then added that the project will be a “triple CD” and declared, “Now we even” — in reference to his tumultuous relationship with his former Bad Boy label boss Diddy.

Mase will probably have to push his release date up, though, because the first day of the embattled mogul’s trail on racketeering and sex trafficking charges is set for Monday, May 5. Diddy pleaded not guilty to all charges.
